First of all this is my first time using a cobbler! And I'm so happy I was led to Leon's Shoe Service through. Yelp. Jose greeted us and since I didn't know what services I would need to revive my favorite pair of heels I asked him to let me know what was possible. He explained what would be needed in labor to fix my broken heel and other shoe details from the wearing down. Reading previous reviews I hoped to get a make over like all the ones before me ....and i did ! but when I picked up my shoes ...nothing can describe picking up your favorite shoes and them looking great again! Honestly , it makes you so happy to have your shoes have more life. He took his time and sealed the peeling dry leather! He also repainted the leather to make them look refreshed! Had a broken heel that I needed to get fixed. Ordinarily, I would toss the shoes and get a new pair, but I am on a reduce, reuse and recycle kick and decided to try and salvage them. I took my pair of sandals to Leon for a repair to the leather strap. I didn't really have much hope for them because a dog completely chewed through the leather on the top part of the emblem. However, I figured his quote of $20 was definitely worth a try. He was very honest and told me that they wouldn't be perfect because they were so badly damaged. I just picked them up and i had to write this review because they are better than I imagined. I highly recommend Leon because he can work magic. Extremely honest! I brought my old Cole Hana dress shoe. Was advised that this type of shoe, specifically the soft rubber may not adhere well. So cannot guarantee a perfect outcome. It's not Cole Haan, just this leather & rubber sole combo. $25 to glue the sole + $10 for the shoe shine. Ultimately I decided against it, as the glue may come off after the first wear. Bought the shoes for ~$200 over 5 or even 8 years ago, so I've already gotten my monies worth. Thank you for your honesty & I'll bring my other dress shoes for a shine in the future. read more

Called him and was very courteous and told me he was a little busy and that he closed at 1pm and this was a Saturday morning around 9:30am. I told him I just needed a shoe shine. He told me ok come and drop them off . When I got to the place he told me I would have my shoes in an hour. I told him to call me couple minutes before they where done because I driving from to him from lake forest and he did call me. Leon is a shoe shine master. He has taken about 5 of my shoes that had scuffs to the leather and has reconditioned them to brand new condition. I often stop in for gas or a drink and in the process will either drop pairs of shoes off to him or sit while they give my shoes a shine. He knows what he is doing and it clearly shows.
