I called at opening time and went by to drop off a pair of boots, I was told to pick them up anytime after 2PM. I was excited since this is one of the few places open in OC on Sundays. I came back at 5 and was told 15 more minutes, I respectfully said if they're just starting on it please don't rush it, take your time and I'll be back before the store closes. Well I just picked them up, and the best way I could describe the work other than the still dirty spots is how much it was rushed. A shoe shine at home would have saved 3 trips and $30. Not worth it. More expensive than competition, late, and sloppy work. read more

Priced right, super helpful with a quick turn-around time. What's not to love. The fixed a pair Dior boots for me and made a pair of Cole Haan clogs look like brand new. I will be taking all of my leather goods & shoes here from now on. If you get lost finding the place, enter in the side door (off the plaza) of El Vaquero. I have had an opportunity to come to the store on a few occasions to have the rubber taps placed on the soles of my shoes and they always do a great job. The cost is very reasonable and the young ladies that helped me were very nice. I do enjoy the music when I walked in and was asked if my shoes needed polishing. Great customer service! read more

So in response to the owner, your shop has serviced hundreds of customers and yet you only have 16 reviews. Out of those 16 reviews, 5 of them are 2 stars and under. I find THAT interesting. Now, I DID mention to the lady about the issue and how I was told one thing and another was done. She insisted that that's what I asked for and I was treated disrespectfully. She assumed I was lying, so at the point I felt really uncomfortable and left. THAT is why I did not return or even bother trying to get a refund the following day. I spoke with a guy over the phone about 2 of my clear heeled shoes and i sent him the pictures of my shoes via text and he said he was able to fix it for $15 and when i brought it all the way from Garden Grove, they wants to charge me $20 per shoes and wants me leave deposit of $9. I brought my authentic LV wallet here to fix because it got a whole on the side and when I spoke to the person in charge they said they were going to just fix the sides. Roberto needs to be cloned! They don't make people/businesses like this anymore! I would give him 10 stars if they offered them.! I brought my odd colored, green leather purse in to him that had an oil stain on it, and he was able to correct/fix it in a matter of minutes (I couldn't believe it could be fixed, after everything I had tried on it, to correct it). It looked brand new. He didn't charge me for it, nor would he accept any money from me, although I didn't want to take no for an answer. Where other places wanted to charge me an arm and a leg to dye/fix, he was able to bring life back to this purse, in a matter of minutes. You just know that he is honest and the real deal! NOT HAPPY AT ALL!!! If I could give 0 stars I would!! I took a pair of shoes that came apart at the soles and the other shoe was also starting to separate. Mind you, and thank goodness these were not expensive shoes maybe worth $25 at most, but I loved them they were broken in and very comfortable for me. The fact that they were not leather shoes made me question if repair was possible or even worth it. He said definitely, he even explained how it was going to be done. I felt $17 was a bit steep for just applying glue but, like I said loved going out in this shoes. When I return to pick them up the next day...OMG Horrible horrible job. It was done extremely sloppy. Glue oozed out and what they did was just paint it black, so it looked like tar going around the shoe. I was horrified. The girl explained that it was because of the material the shoe was. R they serious that's the same reason I asked if this could be done. But, instead of being honest he took my money , now I know why they ask for payment up front when I asked for a refund, after the clerk calling the manager all they gave me back was half my money, they're reason because the job was done. YEAH DONE HORRIBLY BAD!! But, whatever took the money and left them my shoes. Never will I return nor recommend this place. They should stick to selling shoes not repairing them #HORRiBLEWORK read more

A dying art in our use and toss world, great to see old-world shoe repair alive and well at Roberto's. I had a pair of boats re-heeled and the buckle repaired on my daughter's shoes. Walked-in on a busy Saturday afternoon and was still able to get repairs done on the same day. Shop is a little difficult to find nestled in a Western clothing store on 4th Street but head the shoe section where you will be greeted warmly. Prices are fair and there's an attention to detail and craftsmanship I've struggled to find in other area shoe repair shops. read more
