We ate here because it appeared busy. Apparently the locals have very low standards. I seldom use the term "choke and puke" when reviewing a restaurant but this was close. The coney dogs were cold and looked like they had been cooked earlier and set aside for an anticipated lunch rush. The chili on the dogs was cold. The fries were cold and greasy. Yes they were inexpensive but a minimum level of quality would help this restaurant live up to its potential. Avoid if possible. read more

We're referred by staff at Complete Neurology. Had a hungry 16 year old but needed to have a quick meal. We were there, ate and back in about 30 minutes. Keep in perspective, the 4 stars are applied to a Coney Island. This is not a steak house. Nor is it expected to be one. But it is one terrific Coney Island. The food has always been fast hot and good. I love the Gyro Sandwiches, and the fries are the best. Their breakfast is always cooked to order, without mistakes. The staff is friendly, fast, and always there to warm your coffee. Great morning and lunch place. Prices are fair, and actually quite competitive with surrounding restaurants of the same caliber. I've been coming to Leo's since high school. Every time I'm in town I get my fix. But something happened tonight that left a very bad taste in my mouth (and it had nothing to do with the food). When my 2 year old son and my best friend sat at our table our server greeted us as if we were her enemies. I wish I had gotten her name but she had dark brown hair and very "tan" skin. After she left our table I kept catching her GLARING at my son. Coincidentally, a new (VERY, very kind) server came and said she would be taking care of us instead. Now I assume this girl probably despises kids... But I have a very simple piece of advice for people like that - DON'T WORK IN THE SERVICE INDUSTRY. If you can't handle hiding your completely obvious contempt for people, you should 100% not be a server. To top it all off, the same girl is at the register when I go to pay and rang my tip up as $40.00 instead of $4.00, chose not to press cancel and had to give me the money back in cash. Are you kidding me? The whole thing was JUST strange and unfortunate enough for me to never go out of my way to come here again. The star I gave was for our waitress who did a great job. First of all, we ate there cause we were staying at the Holiday Inn Express next door and we saw that we could watch the Tiger's game while we ate - even though the TV's were small and hard to see. I ordered cheese and spinach pie and my husband ordered fried chicken. The "pie" was lukewarm and one of the pieces of chicken was raw and cold. When I asked the waitress, she said the pie was frozen and they heat it on the grill. So we ordered coconut cream pie to get something that would taste good. She said they just sold the last piece. She asked if she could bring us a hot fudge Sunday and she would only charge us for that. It was okay. We tipped her more than the bill for her outstanding effort to make up for the bad food. Wouldn't eat there again, though. At least the Tiger's won. read more

But if you were here to just try things out, you may find the place a little too inadequate in many ways. The food is generally good, if the place is not too hectic. Since I work at the big orange store across the parking lot it's really nice to be able to walk over for lunch. The food is consistently good, and quick to the table. All in all a nice place for a quick bite. Best meal so far ? The michigan salad! A must try it!!! read more

We were there at lunch time and it was packed. The service was good, but the food, less so. We had fish and chips. The fish was oily and not very crisp. Leo's is one of my favorite coney island places. I enjoy their fish and chips as well as their Chicken Finger Pita. I like the pita with tzadziki sauce on it. I enjoy their greek salad as well. I brought my dad and he hadn't been to a Leo's in a long time but used to love their Lemon Rice soup. He ordered that and said it was just like he remembered it. Food is good/ok, service is always excellent. However, the bathrooms are in need of a remodel and in the mean time could use a deep, deep cleaning. Also, the pumpkin pie was not only horrific looking it tasted just as bad. Exchanged that for the cherry pie that was flat, grey looking and could not bring myself to actually taste It! If you're hung over, or still even a little drunk, this is the place for you. My favorite hang over spot. You can get breakfast whenever you want. That's the best thing ever. Foods always good. Great breakfast, good price and friendly atmosphere. Cleaner than many restaurants I have been in. The breakfast crew is typically the same with all friendly and hard working. Went here to eat with my co-worker before a job. Service was fast and food was pretty good. The waitress was very nice. After the bill, my co-worker left a cash tip, upon going up and cashing out at the register (thankfully) I also left a tip on my card. My co-worker watched the bus boy clean the table and put the cash tip in his pocket while I was doing the exchange with the lady at the register. As we headed out the door he told me what he saw so I turned around to go back in and explain the situation to the lady working the register. After I told her what happened she immediately responded with "That's a lie." Which is an interesting statement because she was checking me out when it happened... I told her he physically saw the man take the money and she proceeded to say "Tell him he's a liar". I don't know if the two or related or of that's something that happens all the time at this establishment but I know two things for sure. 1. That poor waitress got duped and 2.
