Walking in and surveying the crowd, I got the impression this is the type of place men go to get away from their wives for a while. Dark sports bar vibes. The bartender was nice to us and super-attentive. They didn't have any ciders on tap but did have a great selection of cans. I went the beer route with a Soft Parade and my husband had a Guinness. After looking over the menu, we decided to make a little sampler platter (bummer they don't have one on the menu.) Prices were fair; I almost felt like I was transported back to 2019 before The Thing Happened. Food came up quick; we got the chicken fingers with fries and an order of cheese sticks. The chicken fingers were very generic; standard, flat GFS tendies. A little disappointing. It's my understanding (by reading reviews) they used to be better. Fries were cooked perfectly well done. The mozz sticks were lukewarm. Weirdly, their chicken tenders are served with cocktail sauce and sweet and sour by default. We told the bartender we didn't want either but would want BBQ instead. We got charged for the BBQ sauce .___. Not cool. Anyway, like most old bars, this place gets by on nostalgia by regulars. Unless you've been coming here for twenty years, it's probably not gonna blow you away.

Always a good stop for burgers, beer and fun. Lots of TVs to watch the game , gambling machines and more. Staff friendly and fast. Lots of parking lots near by and it's a seat yourself when you arrive

Roast Beef Sandwich. Before the meltdown.

Arrived a bit after 1 PM on a sunny summer Sunday. Maybe a dozen or so patrons there. Champs has a good draft beer selection, though most of the taps were out of order when we went due to some mechanical problem. They also have a large selection of canned/bottled beers, so we got a couple cans of Old Nation Brewing's M-43. My wife got a basic burger and said it was ok. I got the roast beef sandwich, which was a bit of a letdown. They didn't stint on the toppings-plenty of beef and the advertised sauteed veggies--but they really could have done with less of them. The sandwich fell apart when I tried to pick it up. About half of it had slid completly off the bun. Some of the would-be sandwich fillings were actually covered by the potato chips in kind of a reverse loaded potato dish, so the problem started in the kitchen and could have been corrected there. The roast beef came in thick slices, though didn't have a lot of flavor. Some of the grilled onions were quite underdone. Atmosphere-wise, it's a pleasant small town bar. Foodwise, it might not be the best option in the area.

2 scrambled eggs, sliced ham, hash browns well done, as requested, rye toast and coffee.

Curious about this place. I stopped by on a late Thursday morning and ordered breakfast, availabl until 11am...which only allows one hour from their opening time at 10am. I ordered the 2 scrambled eggs, ham, hash browns well done, rye toast breakfast $5.50. It was huge, and I could not finish it. Rye toast was really good with just enough butter. The hash browns are cubed potatoes not shredded, glad I ordered well done so they were a little crispy. Thin slices of ham, huge portion. Enjoyed the coffee. Waitstaff very pleasant.

We've heard legends of the Long Islands at Champs from our friends for years. Finally, the time came for us to try for ourselves. They did not disappoint. One of the best Long Islands I've ever had. Can't believe it was only $12 for top shelf. The waitress was super nice and attentive. The only food we had was curly fries and they were decent. I loved the vibe here, hometown pub where the employees know the locals and treat you like you've been friends for years.

Having those available would make it easier to stay longer and accommodate a wider variety of guests. Even so, it's a great spot for beer lovers looking for a distinctive brewery experience.

Our party of 6 arrived about 130 pm. The outdoor seating area was open and bustling. The indoor space was less than half full and we had no wait to get a seat except that no one was at the hostess station. The bartender did greet us and another group relatively quickly but this was the only thing that was quick this visit. Without going into great detail, we were seated for about 10 minutes before a waitress came to the table. We ordered drinks and it took almost 20 minutes for them to start to arrive and 30 minutes to get all 6 drinks. It took over an hour to get food and the entire visit was almost 2 1/2 hours. Mind you this is an upscale bar not a multicourse fine dining establishment. We were told that they were understaffed due to people not showing up but from what I could see they had 2 servers and a bar tender for about 15 active tables. Our waitress, while nice, was inattentive, often leaving us with empty drinks. The food was as good as we have come to expect as were the drinks when we could get them. I will say the chicken tenders my son ordered were over cooked but still tasty. Normally, I would rate this location as 4 stars but not this trip. Again, I hope this was just an off day but service like this again will result in losing our business going forward.

The cauliflower is okay, kind of bland with the hummus. The chicken tendies is okay with the sriracha BBQ. My piece was gristly for me. :( The truffle fries are good. The Maitake mushrooms are good. The soup was average, not so tasty to my FIL. The Rueben wasn't bad. Steak Frites are good, comes with fries. My FIL wasn't fond of the chimichurri though. He said the steak was perfectly cooked medium rare for him. The langostinos are good. The pasta itself was really overcooked and the lobster sauce isn't enough flavor, rather bland. Service is good.

The menu offers a lot of delicious options, and both my husband and our friend loved the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. I ordered the Salmon, which was okay. The Spanish Coffee was one of the best I've had. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was how my food allergies were handled. I had included my dietary restrictions in our reservation and also called the restaurant the night before to make sure they could accommodate me. I was reassured after they checked with the kitchen that most items on the menu could be modified to work within my restrictions. Based on that conversation, I felt comfortable keeping our reservation. Since we were dining with others for a birthday celebration, I had hoped the information from my reservation and phone call would have been communicated to our server so I wouldn't need to go through all of my restrictions again at the table. Instead, I had to explain everything during dinner. Because the restaurant is extremely loud and the tables are packed closely together, our server had to stand across the table from me, which meant having to discuss my allergies loudly in front of our entire party and the surrounding tables. It was an uncomfortable and awkward situation. What was most frustrating, however, was then being told that my options were essentially limited to a protein and green beans. This was a far cry from what I had been told the night before that the kitchen could modify most items on the menu to accommodate me. I completely understand that not every restaurant can accommodate every allergy or dietary restriction, and I don't expect them to. My concern is that I specifically called ahead for this reason and relied on the information I was given. Had I been told beforehand that my options would be so limited, we simply would have chosen another restaurant where I could enjoy a nice meal along with everyone else for my husband's birthday. For anyone dining with significant food allergies or restrictions, I would recommend getting very specific information about what can actually be accommodated before making a reservation.

Relative to the restaurant it is quite large with ample seating and a slew of TV's strategically scattered about to allow you to watch the big game which we did on this occasion watching UConn score an amazing comeback win against Duke in an Elite 8 game. NICE! The game and the food alone made for a memorable and enjoyable dining experience for sure. Staff is super friendly with great follow up and was another big plus for us. The restaurant itself is bright, colorful, clean, and really well designed. I loved the clever bench seating, the bar was well stocked, and there's outdoor seating plus an upstairs area that looked really cool. They also have a walk-up taco window outside, which is a fun idea. We sat in the bar area, and the service was amazing. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The food, though, was really underwhelming. Almost everything we tried lacked seasoning and flavor. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, which had very little chicken and were pretty bland. I did like the very thinly sliced jalapeños on top. The rice was nice and fluffy but didn't have much flavor, and they serve black beans, which just aren't my preference with Mexican food. The house-made salsa was surprisingly sweet, and I was disappointed that the chips didn't seem house-made. If I'm going out for Mexican food, fresh chips are one of those little things I really look forward to. My husband ordered tacos at $6 each, which felt pretty steep considering we're used to excellent tacos in the $2-$3 range. His carne asada was cooked closer to medium rare, which wasn't what we expected at all from carne asada. The queso was another disappointment. It tasted very similar to Rico's cheese sauce you can buy at the grocery store. Overall, great service, great decor, very clean and a fun atmosphere, but the food just didn't match the setting or the reviews for us. At these prices, I expected a lot more flavor. Unfortunately, we left pretty disappointed.
