Went here a couple weeks ago for my brother's birthday. I got their impossible/veggie burger and it was super good! I was impressed because most places don't really do good with those types of burgers but Black rock did! It wasn't too busy, we had a very fast and friendly server. I don't remember her name but she was older and super polite also very fast at serving! We had a 8 top, so we had a decent size party and she did amazing with us! My husband is a Veteran. We went here today at 4:00. He had a complimentary 6oz steak and a baked sweet potato. He said it was good. I ordered the tasty Tuesday special. This included French fries, three coconut shrimp, and BBQ ribs. About 6. The shrimp were over cooked and dark brown very dry. The ribs covered with sauce. They were so dried out I could not chew them. I told our server, Ramona. She was apologetic but offered no alternative. I tried to eat three but I couldn't because so dried out. I was so hungry for a good meal after a busy week and baloney sandwiches. I ordered the side salad with ranch, the sirloin and mashed potatoes. WOW!!! Honestly I would have thought this place was like more of a romantic setting but it's kind of like a normal bar casual type setting - back when this was super popular they made it seem it was like to be so romantic nice to take out on a date. So November 1, 2025 tonight we went there and my husband to celebrate our renewal of our vows!!!!!!!! we get the same waitress the old bitch with the ponytail that has a daughter there (they are both very snotty and rude )and she has a really bad attitude said oh I remember you guys cause we had a problem with her before while she was very rude and she treated us terrible so my husband talked to the manager it was a woman and she did nothing about it now this has to stop because this is our place. We used to go every week and now we can't this no more because of that and her daughter and everybody there are good servers. Worst thing about the place is the smoke from everyone cooking their own food but the food is delicious and service is usually pretty decent. Get the pretzels and the Eggrolls. Great food and a fun experience! You COOK YOUR OWN STEAK at your table on a crazy hot stone at 755F. It's not just a gimmick. You slice a 1/4 strip of raw steak and set on grill for about 15sec per side. The result is a HOT piece of freshly seared meat that remains med-rare in middle. Normally the rare steak is not so warm when consuming. It really is a different way to experience steak, and an scrumptious way! I want to try this at home with a cast iron pan. If cast iron doesn't work, you can buy lava stones to recreate the experience. SIGNATURE ROCK SAUCE If the fresh seared steak wasn't good enough, they give you this special sauce which is exploding with flavor when the steak bite is dipped in. I usually am not a fan of dousing steak in sauce, but I am a serious fan of this stuff!!! SIDES The truffle fries were a delicious side. Everyone is touching and digging over slopped over sub par food , 5-6 food stations were out! My waitress was nice but the manager Jordan did ABSOLUTELY nothing to help the situation! You can't order until 3pm and you have a 90 min table limit. Horrible customer service, not even invited to order after 3 nor have more soup or bread while you wait! -5 stars, the health and fire dept should shut this place down! Excellent place for a unique experience! You can dine and grill your own steak on top of a hot lava stone set at 775°F!!!! Yup! And wow was it delicious, it comes with two sides and two sauces that are to lick fingers for! Family oriented, just wished the seats were comfortable. We met our extended family here and it was so much fun, we were here for 2hrs and 1/2 and it was not the most comfortable seats for sure. But the food and attentive service makes up for it. We settled in a Smorgasburg of things just to try a bunch. Soup flight of French onion, lobster bisque (with a while pile of lobster) and clam chowder Caesar salad with a Parmesan chip Lobster dip Pretzels and cheese (they looked sad but we're actually SUPER GOOD) And the Tuesday special of ribs and shrimp It's been a long time since we have had a dinner this good. We ordered and received our appetizer along with 2 salads. At 12:45 and no return by our waitress (Jessica) I found her and asked what the h... is going on? She told me she was sorry, but she was very busy with other customers which I found ironic since there were hardly any customers in the place. When I told her we were not going to wait any longer for our food (my 1-1/2 year old granddaughter was with us) she presented me with a bill for the appetizer, two salad up-charges and two nonalcoholic drinks. No offer to take care of the bill or have the manager offer us an apology, no just a bill and see you later. Don't understand how a restaurant can stay open and have customer service like that. Will not be coming back to ANY Black Rock restaurant and will definitely not recommend anyone else to patronize them. I will be telling my story to all who will listen. read more

I give it a 3.5. This place is pretty cool not my first visit to black rock but my first to this location. My cousin had never been there so we sat down to try it out. It's a great place to catch a game or have a drink or first date night. It's hands on you order and cook your own meat. We ordered the soup trio for appetizers and a salad. The chili was ok the French onion ehhh but the clam chowder is exceptional prob the star of the meal. This place gets smoky and you smell like a camp fire when you leave. The steak was good the shrimp are small the scallop is ok. The brownie is huge and can serve 4. I'd go back and sit outside to mitigate the smoke. The service was good. read more

Service: 2 the service was slow and distracted, the orders came out wrong they did not check on us once the food came which was wrong and then took 20 minutes to correct it. Food: 3 the food was good but very expensive and for that price it should hav been amazing Price: 2 don't expect to walk out of there with less than a 80 bill for two people with little or no left overs. Black Rock is looked at as a higher end Restaurant, and the prices reflect that sentiment. we got there before the dinner rush, waited to be seated (approx. 15 mim) was seated in patio witch was mostly empty. as it filled up with other patrons which were being served before us finishing and leaving... we had to flag down waitress for everything. When our food arrived it was cold mine was a prime rib sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries. the sandwich had sat so long that the cheese had hardened like a crust, was supposed to have a horseradish sauce yet nothing. they had spilled au jus on the plate so the bottem bread was soaked.. and everybody knows what liquid does to bread.. it was horrible! i could go on. just to say none of the 6 of us will never be back nor will we recommend this establishment. read more

About what you could expect from a chain. Service was great, but food was underwhelming. We came on a Sunday night where they were still relatively busy - nice atmosphere, not dead but not stressed/pressured - seated within a few minutes at a booth in the side room. Mysterious sticky liquid on my partner's side of the booth and a used cloth napkin on the floor underneath the table didn't give the greatest first impression, but we were still game. Appetizer was spinach artichoke dip which was fantastic - delicious, creamy texture, pita chips/slices were soft with a hint of crunch, great portions. Unfortunately that's where things peaked. Granted, not having been there before we were unaware that only the sirloin comes on the sizzling black rock, so not getting that was a bit of a disappointment but probably our ignorance at fault. Our steaks were in fact cooked how we'd wanted; distinctly average, but also for an average price. They weren't dry, but not juicy either. The steak sauce and casino butter were meh, but we're purists so unlikely to like any sauces. My green beans were distinctly undercooked. The server also launched into an explanation about the granola topping (???) for the sweet potato mash and how it has to come as a unit - seemed like a combo of brown sugar and granola that was scooped on top and definitely could have been excluded or modified, but it wasn't bad. My partner's asparagus was okay and his mashed potatoes were at par. Their drinks, based on the smoked old fashioned I got, are STRONG - a plus! - and tasty. Would have loved to sample a few but I had to drive home. All in all, probably what I'd expect from a chain steak place on a non-prime night. Our family had a terrible experience with this restaurant. Confusing and ridiculous "priority seating" system caused us to miss Mother's Day brunch with our family. Our family was led to believe that for at least Mother's Day, we had a confirmed reservation. When we arrived, it was an absolute disorganized mob scene, dumpster fire in the front of the restaurant. People were sitting on the curb, standing in the middle of the driveway in the front of the restaurant. We were then advised it would be nearly an hour from our "priority seating time". In our party is an 80-year-old person with cognitive issues, plus children five and one who could not wait. I did attempt to go inside and speak with a manager and while I was doing that took a look at this glorious buffet that they plan to charge even my five-year-old to eat, and it looked like The buffet you'd put on for a Super Bowl party at a dive bar. I will never ever eat at the Black rock again, and I can only say that if you were planning any sort of special event for your family to go elsewhere. This restaurant needs to come to some kind of clearer distinction about what they are "walk-in only or a restaurant that accepts reservations.
