ORDERED HUMMUS APPETIZER= $7 Received enough for 2 teaspoons! NO BREAD! They lost my business after this.

OK THATS IT!! I was ripped off & it's the End of my decades of Leo's for lunch. Quality has truly gone through the floor. I went there often whenever I was in the mood for a good ole BLT sandwich. But after the last 3 times in the last few months--and 3 failed BLTs in a row--I think it's time to find a new place for my coney/diner BLT cravings. I cant afford to throw away their mistakes every time I pick up a to-go order. AND THEY DONT DO REFUNDS WHEN THEY SCREW UP!! JANUARY: I ordered a BLT from the Flat Rock location. Im not sure what exactly theyre doing, but the bacon had an overpowering smoke flavor. I actually enjoy smoked bacon, but this tasted like they dipped the bacon strips in liquid smoke. My friend ordered potato skins with bacon crumbles & when I mentioned the over-the-top smoke flavor, they said they didn't taste it. So I sampled the skins. No smoke flavor at all. How does one bacon have it & the other doesn't? Who knows, but the BLT was awful & I couldnt enjoy it. FEBRUARY: A few weeks later I again got a BLT, this time at Monroe location. The bacon was fine & cooked perfectly, but there was ONE thin leaf of lettuce, no mayo, & the bread wasn't toasted. Raw & dry. Again, my BLT was barely enjoyable. My friend ordered the worst CHEESE quesadilla I have ever seen in my life. The tortilla was completely raw & not grilled at all. Unlisted on the online menu under cheese queso, it was jam-packed with an enormous amount of chopped RAW green pepper & RAW onion. The tortilla was bulging in the middle there was so much crap crammed in there. Then a blob of unidentified melted orange cheese. No spices. No seasoning. That's it. Barely even melted. Clearly microwaved. Gross! They forgot the salsa & we spent forever picking out all that gross uncooked pepper & onion. A CHEESE QUESADILLA! When Taco Bell's quesadilla blows yours out the door, you're having some REAL PROBLEMS in UR kitchen. The amount of raw green pepper/raw onion was ungodly. I'm serious when I say it looked like an entire pepper. The tortilla tore & it was spilling everywhere. We threw it out. The car reeked! I cant eat raw onion. I cant even be around it because the same fumes that make UR eyes water when cutting one burn the living hell out of my sinuses with the mere scent. It was just awful. MARCH: The last straw was this week. I got an order of hummus from the Flat Rock location & once again took a shot at a decent BLT. I couldnt believe my eyes when I opened the hummus. I had to take a photo. It was $7 or $8 for a SMEAR of hummus on the bottom corner of a huge container. Then, I can only assume to add weight & make the box feel full, they added an entire pile of shredded raw onion, half a soggy tomato, chunks of cucumber, a few chickpeas & an olive. Hummus appetizer = tiny amount of hummus. NO BREAD! Not a single piece of bread for the generous tiny spoonful of hummus they sold me as an appetizer. When I got home, I got out my camera & measuring spoons. NOT EVEN TWO FULL TEASPOONS of hummus in that huge container. I'm not exaggerating. CHECK OUT THE PHOTO. They plopped down a blob, smeared it around so it looked like more, & dropped some old sad vegetables on top. Look at it. It's barely enough for a single piece of bread--which I didn't even get! ONE PIECE OF BREAD WOULD HAVE FINISHED THE ENTIRETY OF THE THIS $7-8 HUMMUS ORDER! If U ran out of hummus, just say so & I'll pick something else. Instead, they thought it was okay to charge me $7/8 & hand this to me. Screw U! Go back & complain & they claim U ate it. One look at my photo U see I didn't touch it. Oh, but this time I thought I was clever when I ordered my BLT! Not wanting another dry blt, I thought ahead & asked for mayo on the side & extra lettuce in the comments when ordering online. I received SOUR CREAM in a cup. And 2 thin leaves of wilted lettuce. THIN! Why even call it BLT with 2 measly leaves? Not full head of lettuce leaves, but small strips of green. Leos laughing all the way to the back with that one!! Jesus!!! Im not asking for a head of freaking lettuce here! May I please have enough on my sandwich to actually taste the stuff? Its lettuce! It's the L in the BLT! And once again, the bacon was so overpowered with smoke flavor I couldn't finish it. 3 strikes, you're out. I wanted to give Leo's the benefit of the doubt after over 20 years, but U can't measure up to the lowest possible half buried bar in the dirt for even the most basic orders. It's a BLT & U can't get it right even when I SPELL OUT the order. It's hummus & bread & U screwed THAT up & ripped me off. I dont know how you're even able to stay in business. Frankly, if U go under, I wont miss you. Judging by the other reviewers, neither will anyone else. At the time of this review, Im not shocked to see U sitting at 2 stars. Sorry, Leo's, but U are all are just horrible. Keep your dang raw onions.

    Leo's Coney Island Royal Oak

Service wasn't good. I ordered one thing but was given something different. They forgot to give us silverware. And I don't know how people stand working there, it's friggin' freezing in there. I guess it's to keep the kitchen staff comfortable. All other Leo's I've been to are better.

This is what cam in my salad

Terrible service Food taste like crap waitress is so rude to the customers never coming back

    Men's bathroom

Yikes! I love Coney Island but this place is NOT it. The waitress, Jaya that served us was very kind and attentive. But everything else about the experience was awful. The woman who was so 'f*cking annoyed' (her exact words repeated multiple times) to be on cash/take out orders made a scene the entire time we were there. The bathrooms were also disgusting with no soap to be found anywhere.

A messed up stacked fry that our MVP Aaron made. thanks Aaron. You rock!
    Michael M.

If Aaron is cooking just turn around and leave....two nights in a row now I've gotten a stacked fry with tomatoes in it. Tomatoes aren't mentioned anywhere on the menu. When asked about it the second time he tells the servers with an attitude it'll be 10-15 minutes...I'm the only one in the restaurant dude. As a fellow cook you should be fucking ashamed of yourself for 1, fucking up a BEYOND easy order and 2, being an asshole for no reason if you hate your job find another one. I'm thankful there's some people there who have their head on straight it they were working tonight Aaron wouldn't be acting like that. It's a shame to see someone act so careless at a job where your main objective is to satisfy customers.

Sad order of soggy "seasoned twister fries" for $5

What an absolute joke this place has become recently. Not like it was pre 2020. Food is over priced and carry out service sucks. Missing items, tiny portions, and food is sub par

    Raw chicken nugget
    Ashley T.

Service was quick which was nice but we were served a few raw chicken nuggets. Luckily my boyfriend decided to rip the specific nuggets in half before either of us tried to eat it but safe to say I won't be ordering the nuggets here again

I used to live nearby about 25 years ago and remember coming to a diner in this area for breakfast back then. Fast forward to today--this isn't the same place, but wow, it's absolutely amazing. Right away I loved the vibe. The chalkboards with handwritten menu items and daily specials on the walls give the place so much character and charm. It feels welcoming, classic, and cool all at the same time. The customer service was excellent from start to finish--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. I ordered the country breakfast, which came with biscuits and gravy, eggs, toast, potatoes, and sausage--everything was spot on. I'm usually not a big hash browns person, so I really appreciated that they offer an alternative to the shredded style. I went with the cubed breakfast potatoes (not sure what they officially call them), and they were so much better--crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Between the food, the service, and the overall atmosphere, this place completely won me over. I already know I'll be back next weekend. Oak Diner has a really, really good vibe, and I'm glad I rediscovered breakfast here. Highly recommend.

The people working here were so friendly and personable with literally everyone that walked in the door. The service was top notch. It is also the most adorable place giving vibes of Lamy's food counter at Henry Ford Museum. I loved all of the options on the menu and it was so hard just picking a couple items to try. We had chicken tacos. They were so good and so fresh, I loved the sauce on top. Honestly, I am not sure if it was cheese or a sour cream type mixture, but it was creamy and flavorful. I also had the torta which was absolutely incredible. It had the same chicken as the taco. The chicken was slow cooked or stewed and shredded and was so flavorful, like a homecooked chef's kiss. The bread was fresh. I loved the sauce poured over it, making it a dipped and soaked sandwich. The carrots and cilantro, sliced radishes and sliced fresh jalapenos added a level of crunch, freshness and deeper flavor profile. I would want to get this every time. We also tried their delicious "curly" fries, which were like julienned shoestring fries fired fresh. It seemed like every dish was made fresh and right in front of you. So worth it, plus the prices are great. I would love to try their fried chicken plate, their breakfast sandwiches, and their other desserts. We talked to the man behind the counter who seemed like maybe a manager. He gave us their famous chocolate chip cookie to try. It was fresh baked and delicious. I would love to take home more of those. It looked so simple but was better than many bakeries specializing in cookies alone. He also gave us an second order of fries to take home with my leftovers, just top notch kindness and service. This man told us that OWL owns other restaurants and we would probably like them. I am open to trying more of their group but I do want to return here. This is one of those diners you would find being profiled for best kept secret or gourmet home cooked foods under the guise of fast food.

I do want to start with some thoughts before I give the highlights. We were charged a percent for using a credit card. I cannot speak to the in-person menu, but I combed the online menu and it did not mention that. We were also charged for ranch. Most places do not do that, and we were not informed there would be an upcharge. Most places allow you a sauce to go with fries. Also, for my meal, there is an image of an extra sauce which it did not come with, but we were charged for two small portions of ranch. Last, the server was just okay. I always enthusiastically ask questions to get to know more about a place. I asked if they had any other fruity drinks. She pointed to the drink menu and indicated just the Paloma. I said, but you have a full bar, this is the only fruity drink you make? She did not want to ask the bar, but I asked her to. The bar apparently only came up with one other drink idea, which I ended up getting two drinks listed on the menu (both very good) but it seemed like work for her to go out of her way to inquire. I also bet they could have made many fruity drinks, like maybe a Mai Tai, or some equivalent. Oh well. On the other hand, the Paloma was actually very good. It was a quality Paloma and I do recommend. Their other drink was seasonal with lavender, also a very nice drink. Most of the other places, like Honcho, I have no problem with getting a variety of drinks or inquiring about them, and the bar tender here did a great job. I came here because I was targeted by an ad on Instagram. This place was not on my radar, but since they created a meal (Steak-frites) very similar to Le Relais in Paris and New York, etc... I wanted to try it. It came with bottomless parm fries. The fries were crispy, savory, and delightful. The steak was super well cooked and was like butter. You did not even need a knife, it cut with a fork. Since I love next day leftovers, the steak was still super delicious and tender the next day. It was still like butter and cut with a fork. I would absolutely come back for that and bring the rest of my family. We also tried the tri-tip sandwich. We were told the bread was made fresh. I thought it was very good and very tender. My husband would have liked an au jus or horseradish sauce. He would try the hamburger next, but I would love another steak-frites, like right now! We were sad the coffee and pastry section closed early. In the past, at Honcho, we would get coffee and pastry after dinner since their coffee tends to be really good and quality. I would consider coming for brunch to try some. We talked to a gentleman who was part of the business as he was working hard. He was very kind and knowledgeable and took the time to hear our thoughts. I told him I was here for the steak. He thought I had a "but". I did not, it was great and I hope they can maintain that price point and the second serving of fries, because that was my main reason for visiting. He let us know the menu recently changed. I am not able to compare since this was my first time, but I liked that they had a steak dinner and pizza. If we come back my oldest loves this group's pizza, she gets it at Vinsetta, and this one looked very good.
