I placed a phone order for chicken strips and chili cheese fries and went in to pick it up. The young lady (cashier) was polite as she cashed me out. But when she went to bag my order she opened my container of chicken strips and picked them up with her bare hand to look for the toast. I was immediately annoyed. I told her that I did not want the strips that she had just fingered after handling dirty money. She seemed to understand my point and asked for fresh strips. But within an hour of eating both me and my husband became ill. We had extreme diarrhea and upset stomachs. This was the second time I had become ill after eating there. So I wish I could have given ZERO stars. Needless to say that I believe something was intentionally done to my food because I complained about the cashier fingering my chicken. Zero stars if I could. They are racist and have very nasty attitude, both the older lady with the blue eyes who takes phone orders and the young girl who wears the bandana on her head with blond streaks in her hair. I called an order in and asked what kind of salad do you have as a first time customer and she said it's too many to name. So I asked for a Cobb salad which came to $17! when I get there, I look at the menu and there were only 5 salads and none listed Cobb. The closest to a Cobb salad was a grilled chicken for $12.00. The lady could have read off the type of salad if she gave a damn but she doesn't. she tried to charge an extra $5 for bacon. Her and the younger girl went back and forth with me with disgusting attitudes so I cancelled the order and left. I'll never go back. they talk to customers any kind of way. read more

I just ate the best Chicken Pita I have ever had in my entire life. Came with a ton of great home made chicken and it couldn't of been made better. The waitress and owner were both very nice and took great care of us. Also the pricing was a bargain for what we got! I definitely would recommend them! read more

The building is run down (split vinyl seats, chipped table edges) but the food was the reason we were there. We hadn't eaten in about 9 hours and had just left the McDonald's across the street because they were too slow to even take our order after several minutes of standing around. I liked the yogurt on my lamb gyro. It was very creamy. Hubby said his bacon burger was decent. The onion rings were a little too long in the fryer, bland without ketchup. The cole slaw was OK, but swimming in a half cup of liquid. The waiter was there when we needed her. So we got nutrition to fuel our brains and headed out. read more

i ended up here on july 4th 2011 because it was the only restaurant open for miles. boy was i disappointed. first of all the breakfast options at 1030 were priced in the 6-9 dollar range for regular egg breakfasts. i get really unhappy when i'm being overpriced for simple and cheap food. second the coffee was the worst i have ever had at a restaurant ever. burnt and old tasting, even though the waitress told me she just made it. with so many coney island and diner options in the area, skip this one and go somewhere you like. love, juston read more

I usually frequent this Coney Island every time I go to Church with my mother on Sunday's. It's funny because a lot of the church members come to this Coney Island as well. I like this L.George a lot better than the one closer to my house, because it is super spacious. The waitresses are very attentive and the service is very quick. I always order the same thing, which is Pancakes, Eggs and Bacon, so I can't attest for much on their lunch or dinner menu. I'm sure it's pretty good, if they have the same recipe's as the one closer to my house. I actually don't have any negatives to say about this Coney Island, except to avoid it on Sundays when church lets out... because it can get packed! read more

One word...awful. There is literally no other way to put it. The food, the atmosphere and especially the service. Just downright excruciating. Do not waste your time. From the start, it was obvious management doesn't know what they're doing. With all the power outages in the area, they were severely understaffed; both in the front of the house and back of the house. The cooks nor the servers could handle the influx of business and it was evident from the start. Rude, rushed, forgetful and unapologetic; there are plenty of other words that could describe the terrible service we received. The food...my wife's omelette was the only item that was acceptable. Another order was eggs over easy, they came out so under done it was an egg white bomb when cut into. Unable to fix it, the meal was removed and I went home hungry. Additionally, toast with extra butter was requested; it didn't come out until we were nearly done with our meal and it was dry. When the butter was requested, the server replied "well you said you wanted it dry" snatched the plate from across someone and stomped away. I decided to keep an eye on him and witnessed the server/cook grab a squeeze bottle full with cooking oil, douse the toast in the oil and then return it to us. He never stayed long enough after that for me to get a word out about it. Save your stomachs and wallets, go to McDonald's [tongue in cheek]. read more

Your typical coney but it looks like what it used to be... A Denny's trapped in the 1970s. Usually I come for breakfast and their big omelettes. Usually in the am it's sorta crowded. Just came at six pm on a Friday night and the place was literally totally empty except for us and a To-go customer. Not sure why though. Yikes, haven't been to L Georges in years and glad I haven't. The server was very nice but the food is terrible. I had a cup of clam chowder that wasn't even Campbells, just milk with potatoes. I thought I could not go wrong with simple tuna pita but.....tuna with a cup of mayo and no seasoning, pickle, lettuce, nothing. I usually go to the L George's at 8/grand river, I've never gotten bad food. This L George's has to be the worst one. The building is a little dated. My breakfast was cold. The grits weren't anywhere close to hot. Pancakes were cold and chewy. The eggs Luke warm at best. The waitress sucked, took my order never checked on me. Had to get my check at the register. Sunday Morning Play: I had to ride to the west side from east side detroit and was like, "what coney is over here?". So I pulled over and typed in coney and LG's popped up. Went in and saw my boy sitting with his family so I knew it was all good. After kicking it, my boy explained how it went so I went to the counter and immediately was waited on. Real nice Service.
