Gotta give a shout out to Monty's. I'm sure the people living around here know the place . Very unassuming restaurant attached to an old hotel along Woodward. Has to be my favorite little breakfast spot when I visit. I learned the owner has passed and his wife is now operating full time. Be sure to stop by and have a meal.

Oh my goodness. This is the juiciest burger I've had in a long time! Cooked to order and cooked to perfection. Everything was hot and fresh! The owner is so sweet. She told the history of this diner and her restaurant journey while waiting for lunch to arrive. Stop by if you're looking for great service and food. Wonderful experience!

Eating at the right spot for breakfast and brunch is crucial. The first meal helps sets the tone for the kind of day you'll have. After eating at Monty's, I had the most enjoyable spirited day. I have bypassed Monty's a million times over the years, never thought of stopping there. It's tiny and easily missed as it's adjacent to a divey motel on Woodward. But as the old adage warns...never judge a book by its cover. Monty's is AMAZING! If you're like me, the energy of a place is everything. Monty's is abuzz with high energy. The conversations, smiles, stories and chuckles were fun to witness as I waited for my order. I had high hopes as the place was packed elbow-to-elbow. I was lucky to sit at a tiny table for one. My food came out with a smile and an apology, after waiting for freshly made hashbrowns. My meal was definitely worth the wait. I had a steak and cheese skillet with fried eggs, hashbrowns and toast ---yumminess overload! It truly was the best breakfast that I've had in years. Everything was cooked perfectly. I may become a regular and have personalized service as the many others who were there. Most breakfasts are under $11. Parking is in a lot shared with the motel.

Typical tiny Michigan diner with great diner food. The Reuben is very good! I especially like the sauerkraut's zip and the fact that the dressing was served on the side. Will I return? Yes!

Monty's has been a mainstay for as long as I can remember. First owned by Ester, then Alex and now, Bardah. Food is always reliable and conversation is always flowing. Fruit and vegetables are all organic which is not advertised. Really a comfortable place to eat.

Yes, it's a bit small but full of taste!

When Yelpers describe Monty's as small, you should believe them! I counted nine counter seats and five high-tops for two. We had been planning lunch here for a couple of months and, finally, because most of our lunch group was out of town or had conflicts, we were small enough to fit. As usual, we faithfully studied the photos and reviews to narrow our choices. They're open from 7 am to 3 pm. Not surprisingly, most of the photos are of breakfast choices but they do have a variety of lunch items as well. I was determined to try a Burger or other Sandwich in order to add more lunch photos. But then I saw the specials boards and they had an Irish Omelet! Never had one before so had to have one - NOW. My wife was impressed with the Veggie Skillet photos and stayed with that choice. While waiting for our friends, we ordered Coffee and split a homemade Bowl of Split Pea Soup (see what I did there?), fresh and delicious. The Veggie Skillet was three eggs, cooked to your liking, on lots of Veggies and Potatoes! It came with Toast and she chose Cinnamon Raisin Toast for an extra $0.75; it was voluminous enough that we took some home to finish later. The Irish Omelet had Corned Beef, Green Peppers, Onions, and Swiss Cheese in it and came with choices for sides. I chose Fried Potatoes and Wheat Toast. Mine was a great choice and appropriate for the season; nothing artificially green, and the Potatoes had the right amount of crisp for my taste. My wife thought, however, that the Swiss Cheese should have been Dubliner (Irish Cheddar) instead because, after all, it was called an Irish Omelet. My wife from Japan is more Irish than me! The owner/operators, Bardha and John, are great people, fun to talk with, and will keep the coffee coming. Hand Sanitizer was available on the counter as well, in tune with the current Coronavirus scare. They maintain a friendly and inviting atmosphere, which naturally makes you want to come back.

It's a small diner located at the Seville motel. Don't be deterred by the motel. Some of the best gems are not where you would expect them to be. Started with fresh squeezed OJ, Meat lovers skillet with rye toast and scrabbled eggs, a veggie skillet with turkey sausage added, feta instead of Swiss cheese and eggs scrambled and hash browns well done and on the side. Open every day. It's a small cozy spot. 5 2-top tables and 12 counter top seats. They use all fresh veggies here. The fresh squeezed OJ is thick and good too. Monty I heard passed away a couple of years ago. The meat lover skillet has ham, sausage and bacon. The veggie omelet has broccoli, onions, mushrooms, green peppers and tomatoes, along with turkey sausage add-on and feta in place of Swiss. The food is very good here, fresh and tasty and the staff is friendly, attentive and quick.

It's okay, just your average local diner. Breakfast is the go to choice for Monty's, at least it's all I've ever ordered. With inflation finally hitting everyone, the latest menu prices now require dine in to get the better deals offered, it's no longer the super cheap go-to hangover breakfast spot or spot to visit when you're able to wake up before 11 on a weekend for breakfast. Now it's the go-to breakfast spot if you're too lazy to cook breakfast at home. The staff is friendly and there are food specials/deals that are available on chalkboard in restaurant but are not on menu. So if you're curious you can call to find out what they are before you visit in person. Breakfast items: Their French toast is great and would advise you to get!!! Sausage was good and bacon was decent. Ham was better than I remembered and had nice sweet & Smokey flavor. Their potatoes were okay larger cut instead of the fine cut straws that some places serve. Scrambled eggs didn't have any salt or flavor added, would advise to go with sunny side up or over easy eggs to get that yolk sauce. I would normally give 3 stars for food quality and selection but since they used to be really cheap and still have a really friendly atmosphere, going with the trend and giving them a 4 stars.

Best Omelets! Order the way you want. Try the burgers too. Patty melts are great too.

I don't have a lot to say about my visit today but I sure didn't like the bacon and sausage coming out in some drawer that was pre-made?just No comment at this time. Talk about greasy spoon.

I used to live nearby about 25 years ago and remember coming to a diner in this area for breakfast back then. Fast forward to today--this isn't the same place, but wow, it's absolutely amazing. Right away I loved the vibe. The chalkboards with handwritten menu items and daily specials on the walls give the place so much character and charm. It feels welcoming, classic, and cool all at the same time. The customer service was excellent from start to finish--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. I ordered the country breakfast, which came with biscuits and gravy, eggs, toast, potatoes, and sausage--everything was spot on. I'm usually not a big hash browns person, so I really appreciated that they offer an alternative to the shredded style. I went with the cubed breakfast potatoes (not sure what they officially call them), and they were so much better--crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Between the food, the service, and the overall atmosphere, this place completely won me over. I already know I'll be back next weekend. Oak Diner has a really, really good vibe, and I'm glad I rediscovered breakfast here. Highly recommend.

The people working here were so friendly and personable with literally everyone that walked in the door. The service was top notch. It is also the most adorable place giving vibes of Lamy's food counter at Henry Ford Museum. I loved all of the options on the menu and it was so hard just picking a couple items to try. We had chicken tacos. They were so good and so fresh, I loved the sauce on top. Honestly, I am not sure if it was cheese or a sour cream type mixture, but it was creamy and flavorful. I also had the torta which was absolutely incredible. It had the same chicken as the taco. The chicken was slow cooked or stewed and shredded and was so flavorful, like a homecooked chef's kiss. The bread was fresh. I loved the sauce poured over it, making it a dipped and soaked sandwich. The carrots and cilantro, sliced radishes and sliced fresh jalapenos added a level of crunch, freshness and deeper flavor profile. I would want to get this every time. We also tried their delicious "curly" fries, which were like julienned shoestring fries fired fresh. It seemed like every dish was made fresh and right in front of you. So worth it, plus the prices are great. I would love to try their fried chicken plate, their breakfast sandwiches, and their other desserts. We talked to the man behind the counter who seemed like maybe a manager. He gave us their famous chocolate chip cookie to try. It was fresh baked and delicious. I would love to take home more of those. It looked so simple but was better than many bakeries specializing in cookies alone. He also gave us an second order of fries to take home with my leftovers, just top notch kindness and service. This man told us that OWL owns other restaurants and we would probably like them. I am open to trying more of their group but I do want to return here. This is one of those diners you would find being profiled for best kept secret or gourmet home cooked foods under the guise of fast food.

I do want to start with some thoughts before I give the highlights. We were charged a percent for using a credit card. I cannot speak to the in-person menu, but I combed the online menu and it did not mention that. We were also charged for ranch. Most places do not do that, and we were not informed there would be an upcharge. Most places allow you a sauce to go with fries. Also, for my meal, there is an image of an extra sauce which it did not come with, but we were charged for two small portions of ranch. Last, the server was just okay. I always enthusiastically ask questions to get to know more about a place. I asked if they had any other fruity drinks. She pointed to the drink menu and indicated just the Paloma. I said, but you have a full bar, this is the only fruity drink you make? She did not want to ask the bar, but I asked her to. The bar apparently only came up with one other drink idea, which I ended up getting two drinks listed on the menu (both very good) but it seemed like work for her to go out of her way to inquire. I also bet they could have made many fruity drinks, like maybe a Mai Tai, or some equivalent. Oh well. On the other hand, the Paloma was actually very good. It was a quality Paloma and I do recommend. Their other drink was seasonal with lavender, also a very nice drink. Most of the other places, like Honcho, I have no problem with getting a variety of drinks or inquiring about them, and the bar tender here did a great job. I came here because I was targeted by an ad on Instagram. This place was not on my radar, but since they created a meal (Steak-frites) very similar to Le Relais in Paris and New York, etc... I wanted to try it. It came with bottomless parm fries. The fries were crispy, savory, and delightful. The steak was super well cooked and was like butter. You did not even need a knife, it cut with a fork. Since I love next day leftovers, the steak was still super delicious and tender the next day. It was still like butter and cut with a fork. I would absolutely come back for that and bring the rest of my family. We also tried the tri-tip sandwich. We were told the bread was made fresh. I thought it was very good and very tender. My husband would have liked an au jus or horseradish sauce. He would try the hamburger next, but I would love another steak-frites, like right now! We were sad the coffee and pastry section closed early. In the past, at Honcho, we would get coffee and pastry after dinner since their coffee tends to be really good and quality. I would consider coming for brunch to try some. We talked to a gentleman who was part of the business as he was working hard. He was very kind and knowledgeable and took the time to hear our thoughts. I told him I was here for the steak. He thought I had a "but". I did not, it was great and I hope they can maintain that price point and the second serving of fries, because that was my main reason for visiting. He let us know the menu recently changed. I am not able to compare since this was my first time, but I liked that they had a steak dinner and pizza. If we come back my oldest loves this group's pizza, she gets it at Vinsetta, and this one looked very good.
