I was looking for a late lunch on my way out of town. I was in the area and found Leo's on Yelp! I sat outside and ordered a Gyro platter with seasoned fries. After I ordered I asked where the bathroom was, and they told me it was around the corner. It's literally a small room around the backside of the building. It smelled awful. I almost go up and left after that. The food took a while to come out. The server was entertaining. He made a couple clever comments to different tables. A lot of times servers have the same bit they use at each table. This guy was all original so props to him. The food was okay. A little on the greasy side. Breakfast review only: People watching on Kavanaugh on the picnic tables out front is great. The food I got was standard and unremarkable and the pancakes are giant. Filling, but not delicious. I couldn't eat half of it. And PBRs are 75 cents, which really can't be beat at 7am if you're into that kind of thing. The coffee was pretty standard as well. I understand that Leo's is not fine dining but I've had FAR better service from restaurants I eat at when I'm on a road trip and have no other options. This continues to be a mainstay for us. It's easy, the food is great - I get the classic Gyro and some fries for lunch, and it's *awesome,* and for breakfast/brunch the Country Breakfast and an extra stack of pancakes works for two of us and a toddler. Big bonus points from me because they've taken the past few years to really expand their outdoor seating, which really helps improve it, and more than doubles the space they had before. Plus, you can get a beer for less than a dollar, and that Breakfast mentioned above (with drinks and tip) comes in under $30 for three people! read more

Interesting experience here. My boyfriend and I were staying in Little Rock over the weekend and looking for fun places to go for brunch. He is Greek so I found this spot on Yelp and we Ubered over. It is situated in a nice little neighborhood in which you have many options to walk to different restaurants and bars. The restaurant is SUPER tiny inside. I mean like enough room for 3 tables and maybe 7 people. So we took a picnic table outside, which was nice. There seemed to only be one server who was running around like crazy. Mind you, this was brunch time on Sunday. He was very efficient and pleasant for being incredibly busy. The mimosas were good and held us over until we finally got our food which took quite a while. I ordered a typical eggs, toast, bacon, and home fries breakfast. It was SO good. The toast was like friend and crispy, and the bacon was perfect. Well worth the almost 40 minute wait. I don't know why I didn't expect it to be so good, but it was. The BF loved his omelet as well. The bathroom is a tiny unisex door off the side of the building and not in great shape. But I assume they are channeling old Greece? Very affordable and pleasant experience overall. Just be prepared to stay a while and sit outside. I will be back for sure when in the area. read more

The server/cashier is such a wonderful soul. She was very kind. We had no idea what we wanted and you can tell there is a local "usual" crowd. She didn't rush us or pressure us in anyway. The restaurant itself is a very small room with 4 or 5 tables and a kitchen. Most people eat outside where there is more room. It is very quaint the locals walk in get their beer out of the fridge bring it to the counter order and then go sit outside. I never saw the server get anyone a beer they all just did it themselves. The gyros are beef, the slices of meat are thick but well seasoned. The yogurt sauce is ok, fries are good. We had lemonade to drink and it wasn't too sweet so I liked it. All in all it was a good time, not what I was looking for as far as a gyro but the people make the place and these people made this THE PLACE. read more

Very nice young lady took my to go breakfast order. We got home and found burnt black bacon, over cooked (burnt) eggs and the hash browns were so dark brown and crunchy that they were inedible. The biscuit and gravy was good. If you eat breakfast there specify the way you like your food cooked. Very expensive! read more

If I could give this place 0 star I ABSOLUTELY would! Me and my husband waited so long that we left! We got our pita and hummus ( hummus was almost frozen) are sitting there for 45 min. The waitresses didn't tend to us seemed like they didn't really care to work. One waitress came up to us and asked what we ordered again about 1hr in sitting there and went back to doing why she was doing. Finally about 1hr and 20 min after waiting for 2 gyros and fries we left. The employees were dirty looking and no one really cared about their customers. We showed up to place a to go order and the person working said hi in a very short tone then stood in front of us. We didn't realize he was heading outside and he then said, excuse me. We grabbed a menu and were ready to place a to go order. After a few minutes he came back in, asked if we had a pick up order, we said we wanted to place one to go. He said, I'm sorry, I can't take any more tables tonight we close at 9. It was 8:25 and we didn't plan on eating there. We wanted gyros. Just left a really bad taste in our mouth. We won't be back. Worst meal and rudest service I've had in Little Rock. Always loved Leo's breakfast and finally decided it was time to try a dinner. Not only was the service awful--we had to get up and get our own beers--but in a small place, that's not that big of a deal. But on a very uncrowded night--maybe 5 tables with 2 people per table--it took us over an hour to get our food. I ordered the falafel plate, and the falafel was ice cold and so hard I could tap it on the plate, and it made a sound. The pita was warm, and the fries were DELICIOUS, but the accompanying veggies were clearly just thrown on the plate. My husband's gyro was also cold, and there was maybe a teaspoon of taziki sauce on it--no veggies. The only saving grace is that I didn't have to go to the bathroom. Nastiest bathroom I've ever seen besides the one in the movie Trainspotting!!! Might go back for bfast but never again for dinner. read more

I'm not sure why this restaurant isn't rated 5 stars! Leo's castle is a small hole in the wall restaurant that serves delicious food. We have been here a few times and the gyro meat is some of the best meat in town along with the berry pancakes. My go to order here is the gyro breakfast sandwich and my gf likes the breakfast platter with the berry pancakes. The prices are fair and the service is reasonably quick. It is typically very busy during open hours being worked by one cook and one waiter/cashier. The seating is small and cozy indoors with an outside patio available as well. read more

This truly is the best gyro shop in Little Rock. The meat was absolutely cooked to perfection, the tzatziki sauce was creamy and had a perfect consistency, the pita was warm and homemade. IF you are in the area Leo's is a must-do. The only downside is there are only about 11 tables and the area is very small. So if that sort of thing bothers you then have some to-go. 8/3/2021 2 pm. The person at the window was more than rude. My daughter ordered and cheeseburger and fries and when the food arrived she got onion rings. The person in the window argued over and over my daughter ordered onion rings and not fries, and then shut the window in her face. My daughter knocked on the window literally for a minute or so, before the person opened the window, at which point my daughter told her she didn't even like onions. The window was slammed shut in her face again. To our surprise the window opened and the person said "here's your fries". My daughter got the fries and the window was slammed and a curtain drawn. The food was terrible and the service worse. I will never go back, nor would I ever recommend Leo's Greek Castle to anyone. read more

Leo's is a Hillcrest institution, a tiny cafe with lots of windows, anchoring the western end of the neighborhood's commercial district. It's been there forever and has scores of loyal customers. That being said, I can't say what the food's appeal is, mostly because I've only had a few meals there, including a good breakfast. My low rating is, however, for lunch I had last week. Leo's Greek Castle should absolutely have at least a small selection of authentic Greek entrees, appetizers, and desserts, right? It doesn't. The falafel sandwich, for example, was a disastrous mess with chunks of cucumber, two small chunks of hard tomato in a tasteless (tzaziki? No.) sauce and hard, dry, cold, crumbly wedges of falafel. Oh, and pickle slices. Pickles. I'm still incredulous, and this takeout lunch was a week ago. Pickles. The baklava was as pathetic and inauthentic as the falafel sandwich. Lots & lots of layers of dry phyllo stuck together just from the baking process on the top and bottom of the piece sandwiching a layer of soggy minced nuts of some sort. No honey, cloves, or butter. No butter. Also tasteless, and so disappointing. Traveling in Greece, and dating my Greek boyfriend in college, I had many amazing foods and cooked Greek food a lot. This wasn't it. I didn't finish the sandwich or the dessert. I gave Leo's 2 stars because it is such a cute, established, mom & pop place with cheerful, accommodating staff. They even brought my food out to my car as I waited, and it was raining! I'll definitely go back for the scrambled eggs & coffee to sit in a sunny window in this sweet gingerbread house. The current Leo's pales in comparison to the place I frequented since I was a teenager under the former owners and everyone I know says the same thing, but we were in the neighborhood so wanted to see for ourselves. I wouldn't waste your money unless all you're after is a beer and seasoned fries. But even then I'm surprised the place hasn't gotten more citations from health inspections. It's also way overdue for basic maintenance and upkeep. It does have a diehard following, so I'm sure as long as they are open someone will eat there. read more

Took a visiting out-of-state family member and the tribe to dinner at Leo's this past Saturday. Amazingly, we were ahead of the dinner rush and had no problem getting two adjoining tables for our group. Leo's small size and little patio remind us of our favorite pita stand on Crete in the small village of Gournes. Most of the group ordered just the gyro ($5.95) and two ordered the gyro platter ($8.95) The platter comes with a gyro, enough meat to make another one or two gyros, and patates tiganites (fries). You can substitute a Greek salad for the fries, which one person did. We found the prices at Leo's to be less than at other Greek venues around Little Rock and felt we received good value. In addition to Greek food, Leo's serves a mean Frito pie with lots of Fritos, chili and cheese. Bring someone to share with. As mentioned by previous reviewers, Leo's is a Pulaski Heights institution and you haven't truly experienced Little Rock if you have never ever eaten here. Leo's is owned by a warm friendly Argentine couple whom you'll likely meet on weekdays. The owner formerly managed the kitchen at beloved Little Rock landmark Casa Bonita. You often find former Casa Bonita staff working and eating at Leo's. read more
