Went to Pier 88 Boiling Seafood & Bar on Mother's Day, so there was a bit of a wait after check-in, but we were able to hang at the bar and grab drinks while we waited which made it way more manageable. The waitress was attentive the whole time, bathrooms were clean, and I really appreciated how mindful the staff was with my deaf friend. That always stands out to me. The calamari was okay. I liked it, but my friend said she's definitely had better. I also had to ask for lemon with the calamari. Last time I came with a friend they were completely out of lemons, so I was glad that wasn't an issue this time. I'd probably try something different instead of the calamari next visit though. We got the Pier 88 combo crab boil with the "All of the Above" seasoning in mild. It came out super quick and was very well seasoned. I personally thought it leaned a little salty, but I also saw other tables adding extra salt to their food, so I guess it just depends on your taste. Portions were good and everything tasted delicious. Very kid-friendly spot, pretty loud and lively inside, and honestly a great place for hosting bigger groups, family get-togethers, or even just catching up with a friend over drinks and seafood. Went for my first time on a Monday afternoon and we had no problem getting sat right away. The service was great, we got our food very quick. I ordered a pound of no head shrimp with lemon pepper seasoning. Although the flavor was good, I feel like the lemon pepper flavor wasn't all there for me. We were really excited to try Pier 88 Boiling Crab, especially since I love seafood and the Yelp reviews made it seem promising. Unfortunately, it was a major letdown. We started with the clam chowder, which was extremely watered down and completely lacking in flavor. It tasted more like soup that had been diluted than a proper chowder. We also ordered shrimp with the Pier 88 seasoning, but the spices were barely noticeable--there was almost no seasoning at all, which is pretty disappointing for a place that markets itself around bold flavors. We did takeout and ordered through door dash and someone had picked up my order? They didn't even ask or check for confirmation, they just handed it out. When asked about someone else picking up our food they seemed lost and brushed it off and said you'd have to contact door dash (which I did and got a refund on their end). Nonetheless we came home and tried the food and it sucked. The shrimp was overcooked. We got Cajun sauce and there's no Cajun in it, only thyme. We got mild spice and there was no spice at all, previously we got mild and it kicked my butt - so inconsistent. The potatoes were also so starchy, it did not taste like it was soaked or anything, just boiled in plain water and thrown in. We also got sweet potato fries and that's the only thing that tastes good but it's a ridiculously small size for $6. This is my 3rd time eating here and I'm disappointed yet again. The food is so good. I love their flavors for the boil bags. The fish baskets are good as well. Service is usually good and the servers are usually attentive. It does get busy on the weekends so you have to bring ur patience. I love the design inside and it is usually clean. As it relates to correctness and fulfilling togo orders, 8/10 times they will get the order right. The times that they get it wrong, they only offer you to go back up there to pick it up rather than refund a portion of the order. read more

He ordered the low country seafood boil with an extra lb of head off shrimp. It came with 1/2 pound shrimp, 1/2 pound snow crab, sausage, boiled egg, 2 ears of corns and 4 potatoes. He was able to pick his own spice level and he picked the mild Cajun seasoning which in his opinion had no spice but it was flavorful. The restaurant was clean and the music was great. We order Pier 88 combo for 2 and it was ok. For our first time I would say nice place very clean and friendly waitress. I'm for us the food was ok wasn't great like everyone says. We felt like it needed more seasoning. We did mention to the waitress that it was our first time there and she was friendly but when our food arrived we wished they would explain to us how to use some of the utensils for the crabs legs. We ended using the claws or the crab to open the legs and get the meat out . But we just wished it had a bit more flavor. And what I just didn't like was that one of the potatoes was rotting and all they did was made a hole in the potato just to take that part out and they still served it like that. That was nasty I gave it to the waitress, and she said it was nasty and she apologized, and she actually brought back one potato, which I thought it was nice of her. I just wished that the cooks would look more into what they're serving and I just make a hole or take off that part that's being rotten. My expectations were high for our first time trying a seafood boil. We got the Country Low Boil and The starter appetizer. Disappointing is the least we can say considering both meals were half eaten. We were so disappointed, we talked about it all day about how disappointing it was. The food took too much work for how fast it got cold, it was so oily it felt like I was putting tanning oil on my face. The only thing that was okayish were the mozzarella sticks but that's pretty hard to mess up. The wings were so crispy dawg, my teeth almost fell out, not even the sauce helped. For the prize payed, the quality of food was underwhelming. 0/10 would not go again and would accept a refund if possible. For being our first time trying seafood boil, it ruined it for us. My fiancé and I stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon around 4pm. We were greeted by the hostess that sat us down immediately. The decor of restaurant was similar to other cajun seafood places in the valley. There was a odd sewer smell when you first enter the restaurant which isn't good for a restaurant to have since they are serving food. We ordered the half dozen oysters, fried calamari, cajun fries, and the 88 punch. The oysters were fresh, and they had all the condiments you needed for the order. Happy that I didn't have to ask for hot sauce and horseradish because it was already provided when the waiter delivered the oysters. The canjun fries came out piping hot and were crunchy. We ordered a pound of head on shrimp, green mussels, and dungness crab in the 88 special sauce. There was some parts of the seafood that was salty and some where they lack flavor. Some of my shrimp were mushy and the dungness crab tasted a little on the fishy side. I was not a fan of their boil as the flavors were not evenly distributed and the seafood was not fresh. The appetizers was the best part of the meal. Sadden that the canjun boil didn't make the cut. The odd sewer smell made it a little difficult to enjoy the food. The sewer smell was very strong in the restroom. The owner should really look into getting that fix especially running a restaurant. No one wants to eat in a restaurant when it's smells like sewer which made it difficult for me to finish my food. read more

They have a pretty full menu if you have anyone in your group who is not into boil, such as po-boys, burgers and more. Lively atmosphere, plenty of screens to watch sports, clean and the service was good. Saw a wide diverse group of clientele from couples to families and even those enjoying boil while having drinks at the bar.
