They were out of the trout so I ordered the Wild Caught Snapper dish and it was the most delish fish I've had that was similar to chicken. My husband ordered the seafood fried platter! We split a seafood andouille gumbo. They had Parmesan garnished on my food and were able to accommodate my dairy allergy! Super glad it wasn't an issue. The manager came to make sure I was pleased. OK, I don't know what happen to this place. We came here 11 months ago and food was amazing. We decided to come here for bday dinner. 8 people total so I knew they would automatically add tips. Which is custom and I am used to it but 20% automatic seems bit much. But our server was great and he would have gotten the 20% at least... I don't know why I didn't take pictures except for mine. Probably because I was so freaking annoyed. Well for a start Fruit De Mer, $37.95 for shrimp, crab fingers and oysters. Shrimp was OK, they weren't pealed probably so I bit into small shells few times, crab fingers was super tiny with almost no meat to little meat, little fishy, not tasty, oysters.. two big and two tiny ones. Big ones I'm guessing Louisiana oysters, small one I have no idea. I kid you not small ones looked like ones you get at cheap Chinese buffet. For how much you got the price you pay was beyond me. I think maybe 15 bux might have been OK. Rest of the dishes were pretty good but when I saw my dish I was confused. I had to look at the menu to see if I made the right order. Looked at the picture I took 11 months ago and verified I orders the same dish. I know cost of things have gotten up and some times you have to decide keep the price same and give smaller portion or raise the price.. Well I would have preferred either or. Not the dish I got which looked and tasted like, keep the same peice, add more pasta, put less seafood. I was so annoyed I wanted to complain but I got the evil eyes from my wifey since it was a bday dinner celebration, so I kept my mout shut. I remember seafood gumbo being amazing but for some reason shrimp gumbo was also pure disappointment. Little salty and lacked the flavor that I remember eating. Definitely not worth the price for a cup. Filet mignon for $68.95 definitely was not worth the price tag also. Over all food was pretty good but not as good as last time I ate there. Service was still great which is nice. I cannot keep this place 4 starts anymore. And I used to recommend this place to everybody but not after today. That almost $38 appetizer was sad and over priced and they totally ruined my Pasta Mardi Gras. The service can be a bit hit-or-miss, which is typical for a chain restaurant. During one visit, they were out of Tito's vodka and didn't have anyone available to shuck oysters--a bit peculiar for a seafood joint, but likely just a sign of the times. The grilled seafood skewers were incredible each piece was cooked perfectly the Shrimp, Scallops, & Salmon all perfect nothing overdone with just a bit of grill char that adds so much flavor in my opinion. Had my birthday dinner here. It was my first time at Pappadeaux. It was nothing like I envisioned in terms of aesthetics but the food made it for it entirely. I ordered some version of its jambalaya and it was delish, even better the following day. We closed the evening with creme brûlée that sent me to the restroom. The only con I had about the experience is that it took soooooooo long to be seated even though I made reservations a week in advance. It was discouraging to see open tables and still not be seated, along with no apology for the wait. Then when we got seated it took longer for a wait staff to bring us menus that we end up grabbing our own menu's. My parents and I went here for dinner and we got mozzarella sticks and a sampler platter cause we wanted to try something different and it was all good !! I made a reservation on the website the same day prior to arriving. I appreciated when walking into the restaurant the staff were very welcoming friendly. The ambiance was lively with a lot of seating with the server acknowledging my family right away and giving insight on the menu due to it being our first visit. The food was delicious with generous portions. We ordered the seafood platter which they split for us on request, the kids chicken tender and fries, and lunch portion blackened catfish with red beans and rice. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere were all wonderful. The pricing also felt very reasonable for the quality. Definitely a place worth visiting for both small and large parties. I visited because I was searching for a steak place, and only later realized this is actually more of a seafood restaurant. The ribeye turned out truly excellent. The meat was fresh and you could really taste the quality. The steak was cooked well, nicely seared on the outside with a great crust, but not overly charred. We also ordered the seafood pasta and it was absolutely delicious. Both the sauce, chewy octopus legs and fresh seafoods. Although fries took too much of the portion of the fried fish platters and the fish was thin. What made the experience even better was the atmosphere. We had a fairly late reservation, they were still very patient and took great care of us until the end of the evening. They were also giving out bead necklaces as part of a New Orleans tradition on Tuesday, which made the experience feel festive and fun, and we felt very welcomed. read more

Anytime I come to Arizona, I make sure to carve out time for dinner at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen. It has easily become one of my favorite spots. Today was especially meaningful for my family as we celebrated my mother's 3-year anniversary of receiving her kidney transplant at the Mayo Clinic. From the moment we sat down, our waiter, Leandrew, welcomed us with such a warm and inviting smile. He immediately began offering recommendations and was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. To say he knew the dishes well would be an understatement -- he could explain every ingredient in detail for anything we asked about. We always start with the Lump Crab & Spinach Dip with crostinis, and as always, it was absolutely to die for. For our entrées, we each ordered the salmon topped with shrimp and lump crab meat, finished with a rich butter sauce and mashed potato purée. Despite how busy the restaurant was, everything came out quickly and tasted absolutely magical. While the food was phenomenal, the service is truly what made this experience unforgettable. Hade a peach side variety to start and the catfish ettoffee with Shrimp and dirty rice. Pappadeaux always hit the spot. Friendly service and our server Michael was a pleasure to have for our table. Very kid and family friendly restaurant even though it's a seafood focus place. They a nice selection for kids menu. My étouffée definitely had lots of crawfish and shrimp in it. We both had to ask for boxes for our leftovers. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered a side of Caesar salad. We know their portion was big. So, I told our waitress that we would be sharing the salad. When she brought out our salad, she already split it in two smaller dishes. This is a very popular seafood restaurant so I had high expectations especially since my cousin would tell me all the time that this is his favorite restaurant in Arizona. They have lunch specials that are served daily 11am-3pm BUT seniors (62+) get to enjoy lunch prices all day! There is a good variety of lunch specials (salads, gumbo, fish, fried seafood, pasta, etc.). Pricing was slightly expensive so expect to pay $22-$30+ even for lunch specials! Got the Pasta Mardi Gras ($29.95) and it consisted of linguine with crawfish, sausage, mushrooms, shrimp, and tomato cream sauce. It came with a lot of linguine and a few chunks of crawfish and several shrimp. The tomato sauce was quite salty and overpowering so it was hard to enjoy the seafood. I tried to take off the cream on some of the seafood pieces and thought the crawfish and shrimp tasted quite bland and could have been more fresh. I felt this dish was overpriced and nothing special so this was 6/10 for me Fried Shrimp Combo ($22.95) was ok. It consisted of fried catfish, chicken tenders, shrimp, and French fries. The fried catfish was a little too fishy even though it was fried. The fried shrimp, chicken tenders, and French fries were nothing special and just tasted like typical fried food. It would have been enjoyable if it wasn't so salty and it was more fresh. This was 6/10. The garlic bread ($6.95) was delicious. It was crispy and topped with garlic butter. I really enjoyed how fresh the bread was and how it wasn't too salty or greasy. This was 8/10. The strawberry lemonade ($6.95) was way too sweet and not enjoyable at all. I had to wait for the ice to melt so the drink would be less sweet. This was definitely a pass for me so this was 6/10 Most likely won't recommend or return unfortunately. read more

I moved out of Phoenix 25 years ago and we come back about every 5 years to visit Pappadeaux's. The quality and standard is still amazing and the services excellent as well. I recommend you try one of their craft cocktails. They have lunch specials 7 days of the week, love that! Their French bread and butter is delicious and the service from Taylor was excellent.
