Convenient liquor store in Brookfield. It has a pretty good selection for being a small locally owned place. Leo's Liquors has lots of beer as well. Best thing about it is some hard to find items. The prices are what sucks the most it seems. As mentioned, this place is pretty convenient. It's located in the 8 Corners neighborhood so it's a pretty popular stop. The bad thing is the prices though. A rip off on many items. You can find many things for a few bucks cheaper at other places. Fuck the high prices here. They also have a good selection of wines if you're looking for that. Great stuff except for the prices of course. It's the price of convenience maybe. This place also gets hot inside so that's not good for the product quality or whatever. read more

Neither of the workers on this Thursday afternoon even spared me a glance as I pinballed around looking for a certain brew. I finally got the attention of one worker who had twice walked by me and he told me it was "In the pair of coolers on the end." Well, I stumbled around more in one of the walk-in coolers, couldn't find what I was looking for and went to the front register. But neither worker took any notice of me. The first one who had (mis?)directed me was seemingly unconcerned that I had not found my brew. I was apparently completely invisible to the second. This place has quite a good selection, but you can't find anything, much less determine its cost (maybe only 2/3rds of the brews have visible prices). I have a great selection of socks in my bedroom but they are scattered all over and so are pretty much useless to me. read more

Prices are up there, but the selection of beer and spirits is excellent for a mom and pop operation. Lots of easy parking nearby. The guy working the register is always nice. No complaints. read more

This is a good neighborhood store. They have a big selection of beer and cider. Two walk in beer ccolers. The wine selection is not bad and the even have a wine chiller. The only downside is the price. Everything here is a little bit more than most other places. If you are looking for a rare craft beer, chances are they have it. Well, there goes another local spot. This place changed owners and it has gone to crap. I walked in and there were three people waiting in line. I went to find my beer, no price listed...huh? That's weird. Go back to the checkout, same three people are still waiting. Finally made it to the counter with my two six-packs of Bell's Oberon and then the total...$24!!! Are you flipping kidding me!?! $12 a six pack!?! Have you lost your mind. PLUS they weren't even cold. If you're going to overcharge me like that the least you could do is make sure your coolers are working. Hey, cheap ass, try turning on the air conditioning when it's 100 degrees outside or your coolers can't do their job. You're charging your customers enough that I think you can afford more than the crappy little fan you had running. I will drive out of my way to go to another liquor store to avoid this place from here on out. read more

Selection is probably one of the best in this area for beer BUT the temperature was incredibly high in this place. Not appropriate for storing beer. Also their prices were $3-$4 higher for their beer than anywhere else. I take issue with paying $13-$15 for a Pipeworks beer when typically they are between 9-12. They had some Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout and were selling it for $10 a bottle. Absolutely nuts. I'd heard that they have undergone ownership change and aren't managed the same way so this might be part of the issue. If you are looking for selection they are great but there is no telling how long some that has been on the shelf and storage is a huge issue along with the high prices. read more

This place is a hidden gem in Brookfield. They offer a diverse selection of liquor, beer and wine. The prices are comparable. They have a neat water barrel to cool bottles in minutes. read more

This store is kind of weird. I think I'm basing this judgment on the fact that there was incense burning on one of the shelves. It kind of smelled like church in here... but hey, to some, the liquor store is the holy land! They definitely have a huge selection of beer and wine, including a bunch of stuff we hadn't seen before, but a lot of it had some dust on it, which doesn't make you feel great about how fresh it may be. I frequent craft beer stores a lot, and thought the prices were totally on point with other stores in the area. Craft beer is just more pricey, there's no way around it! I do have to give the store workers props... I was checking out a 4 pack of beer and stupidly dropped one of the beers. The cap got knocked out of alignment and beer started oozing everywhere... SO embarrassing!! Their response? "It's ok! Now we get to drink it!!" I did go pick out a beer after that because I felt guilty, and it wasn't too shabby. I don't see myself being a frequent customer, but in a pinch, it will definitely work! read more

I go to this place a lot because they have such a great selection of micro brew beer. The prices are pretty reasonable as well.

Since this place changed hands it has gone to crap. I really liked the old owners. The prices have went up and the service has gone down. They have limited knowledge in liquor or their stock. Prepare to wait in line when you go there. If you are in that area, go to CVS for booze. They have good deals and much better service. read more

Leo's is a block from my house. The new owner is very helpful as is his staff. I ALWAYS get greeted when I come in and asked if I need help finding anything. The girl at the checkout (auburn hair and glasses) is super nice and makes great recommendations for something to try next time when she sees what I'm buying. They now have two taps in back for growlers and 10% off craft beers on Tuesday. I get multiple kegs there each year for my local non-profit's fundraiser and the owner gives me a good deal and they are always great about helping me load and unload - even when I show up at midnight with 5 empties. :) read more

We have been going to Leo's since we were able to legally buy alcohol. They have a good selection and the prices are good as well. If there is something unique that you want they will order it with a deposit which is pretty nice, we have done that a couple of times. read more

Leo's looks like the epitome of a hole-in-the-wall, typical Chicago area skanky liquor store. However, Leo's has an excellent craft beer selection - the best in the local area, and it rivals the selection at larger stores. The only store somewhat nearby that has more is Mainstreet Liquors on La Grange Road - but I don't consider that "local" and Mainstreet is at least three times larger. Prices on craft beer are in line with other places - I can't speak to the wine and liquor prices. read more

We are fans of Leo's and enjoy chatting with the guy that runs the place, Sam. He is a down to earth guy that sometimes even has his mother and father in the store helping him out. They take over cashier duties when he has a day off. I can appreciate a family run business right on 8 corners in Brookfield. There is a good amount of beer, wine and liquor to choose from. The employees are all very nice, but the store is almost always uncomfortably hot. That can't be good for the products and the smell of burning incense drove me out of there more than once. I'll drive a bit out of my way to the liquor stores on 31st or Ogden instead. read more

Owners changed, place went straight downhill. Good selection of beer at inflated prices so if that's for you, check it out. Chick at counter overcharged me twice for the same six pack of beer. When I questioned it she said"people make mistakes" but still tried to charge me the higher price??? Also, I always buy a nice bottle of scotch for the holidays...their bottle of Johnny gold label is $25 more than anywhere else! What???? This customer is lost forever. read more

They have a decent selection unless you are looking for something slightly rarer. If you want something not too far off the beaten path, Leo's should have it. The employees are nice, but don't go out of their way to help you, which is ok if you know what you want and where to find it. It's surprisingly large inside for what you might think given the corner lot. I will have to agree with some of the other reviewers about things not always being cold. read more

Top notch beer selection that rivals anything in the city. I make a point to visit every time I'm visiting family in Brookfield. The past several trips have each yielded difficult to find beers like Zombie Dust, Gumballhead and most recently, a growler of Goose Island Bourbon County Stout. It's unfortunate that other reviewers have had issues with the service, but I can say that the staff has never been anything but knowledgable and helpful. read more

Yes, I have been going to Leo's for decades. This is one incarnation that isn't the worst. They overcharge on taxes. I have complained ten times, but I am always supposed to talk to some other person. The younger guy cashiers are dicks. The craft beer thing is stupid... 5 hundred different 9 dollar bottles, improperly stored. I am sure they are so good (not). I liked it better when they had a few cold singles like weisses, stouts, pilsners, for two or three bucks. There are a lot of "happening" twenty- somethings in there, which I think is good. Keeps the neighborhood fresh and growing. The night girl who is the Blackhawks freak is a peach, what a sweety and a good worker. Overall, they should cater to the older clientele a bit more, and have a sale once and a while. Tischler's food store, a hundred yards away, is way cheaper on beer. Plus Leo's keeps the store like 90 degrees year round. I told everyone there that you can't keep these products stored in such a manner. I doubt they use their products, if you know what I mean. Not an avoidance warning, but try Brookfield liquors on 31st, new owners and nice selection, with no attitude problem. read more

My review is only for beer as that's what I have primarily gone there for in the past. Leo's has a solid selection of beer, however, their prices are out of this world. Bought an expensive beer on a whim and was unable to look it up on my phone. When I got home I discovered that other stores in the area sell this bottle for $12 less. Something like a 130% markup. It was my own fault, but still. Most other beers are typically 2-7$ more than you can find elsewhere. Also, it was probably 80 degrees inside when I went on a cooler summer day. I have to agree with Karen C. The air conditioning was off for most of the summer. All of the wine on the shelves was cooking. Customer service? It's just not there. It's rare to get a smile from anyone behind the counter. They seem like they're just not having fun. It seems like they have no idea how to make customers feel good about shopping there. Second time I was over charged and when I called Archie he put me on hold for 1/2 hour then he hung up on me. Had to call them back and still didn't offer me a refund on the over charge. Not the Leo's it used to be....that's for sure. Won't buy there again!!!! Brookfield, if you are looking for a good liquor store, this is not it. read more
