Bought a pair of door gaskets for my 1974 Plymouth Duster, part number LM-23. Right away it was…read moreapparent that the gasket ends weren't the same as my factory installed gaskets, which had metal cores in them. The Metro gaskets don't. Unfortunately, you don't discover this until AFTER you've bought them (and in my case, removed the old gaskets). Metro obviously cut a corner here in not manufacturing a metal core into the ends. Also, the thickness of the end portions are not as thick as the originals, and they don't supply the sheet metal screws to fasten the gasket ends. Instead, they supply very cheap and flimsy black plastic push fasteners. If you want the original factory look, you're not going to get it from Metro. These will fit if you play with them enough, but they're definitely not direct factory replacements. Overall, I'm disappointed by these Metro products. A call to their customer service line (unable to reach a human so I left a message) went unanswered. Metro, please do the following: 1. Make your products the same as the originals, metal cores included. I'll pay the extra price. 2. Make the thickness of the ends thicker. The ones you sell are thin and flimsy. 3. Get rid of the cheap plastic push pins. Not original. Supply the correct screws. 4. Answer your phone. Return customer calls if you want the business.

Still, Pep Boys has a special way of getting under my skin which is such a bummer! Because this shop is huge and close to where I live it comes to mind first when I need air in my tires, car inspections, or other quick service that can't wait. What I can't understand is why I keep going back when the service is so disappointing. The other day we were planning on going for a drive and realized my boyfriend needed an oil change. We didn't want to drive a ton before changing the oil so we stopped into Pep Boys to see if they could help. We spent 5 minutes standing in front of the guy behind the service desk staring at him before he acknowledged us. Then, once he started helping us he didn't seem to know what he was talking about and suggested the wrong type of oil. Finally, in the middle of talking to us he took a phone call. Needless to say we walked out and won't be returning. I gave two stars because they did put air in my tires and get my Lyft inspection done quickly on a separate occasion. I just can't get over how I always feel like an inconvenience as a customer even when I don't need anything that requires much work on their end. I really hope that eventually Pep Boys becomes a place people feel comfortable and welcome walking into.

Then on Sept7, 2026, the car began shaking profusely so I stopped at a repair shop on Southview Blvd in South St Paul. After checking the vehicle, I was told that whoever installed the tires on the car forgot to put all of the lugs back into the 2 front tires. There was only 1 in both. This is pure neglience. I could of been killed and it also was putting other drives in danger. I will not ever go to Pep Boys again. They are very negligent.
