They used to be great - reasonable, prompt. Last time, I brought my truck in to replace one tire (I provided the tire because they didn't have the same one, and it's a 4WD so all tires must be the same). The guy didn't bother to measure threads on other tires which is essential for a 4WD vehicle. Fortunately, I am an automotive professional myself so I did it prior to bringing the truck to them. When I mentioned it to him, his face said "blah blah blah". Next, he overtightened lug nuts, and if it was not for another guy... How hard is it to check torque specs?!? If it were some kind of a ford or bmw, he would've damaged rotors, and if it were a chrysler, he would've stripped studs. And finally, they charged $50 for mounting and balancing ONE tire. How screwed up is that?!? read more

Came here several times tried making stuff up to replace on my girlfriends car and scamming her on top of that I tried getting wheels and tires, they acted like there was a problem to try to find the correct sizes that would match my truck and never called me back I would not recommend coming here at all unless if you want them to try to run down your wallet when you aren't there read more

DO NOT GO HERE! My daughter is a student at College of Idaho and took my 2023 Mustang Mach E to this location as it is close to campus because the left REAR tire had gone flat after driving to campus this am.This tire had been repaired the previous day at the Meridian location. Jo called and informed her the back RIGHT tire was a "bad tire" (although had zero issues before getting to their location). She informed me that they had taken off the patch from the day before and that the tire was now unusable and as a result I had to replace all 4 tires. I informed her that I had just replaced one tire 3 weeks ago and it should be ok. She proceeded to argue with me that I had to replace all 4 tires. I asked about the rear left.... Yeah the whole reason the car was dropped off and was informed she hadn't looked at it and couldn't proceed since the rear right was a bad tire! We had them fill the tires and went back to our Meridian location and there was ZERO wrong with the back right tire AND WAS PERFECTLY FINE. Yep that's right Jo and the Caldwell location was trying to take advantage of my college daughter for a quick pay day! Avoid them! read more

Immediate service upon driving up, didn't even have to get out of the car, was asking politely what I needed and tended to my request fast and efficiently on the spot! Very respectful, punctual and did what needed. Greeted us and finished with have a nice day farewell from an employee. Total time less than a minute and was on the way. Have had horrible experiences with Nampa, meridian, and several Boise les Schwab locations but Caldwell more than exceeded my expectations very good store. Before I wouldn't refer them at all even my worst enemies, but this location is the bomb!!! Keep up the good service. #changing opinions!!! Wish I would have caught the employees name that helped us. Well I've heard the good and the bad of this location and I've got to say nothing but good. Arrived 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment and they took me in right away. Set of new tires installed and balanced. The ones that were on originally had plenty of tread left just not an all terrain tire to get me thru lthe snow and ice if encountered. They loaded my old tires in the back of my truck. I was in and out in less than an hour. Courteous and professional in every way. I'm hoping it's the same back home in California. read more

Okay, this is an update (I hope the "old" review is still visible to all). So, I had a flat. Conveniently, I discovered it at home, and I had the "leisure" of changing it at home on a flat surface, with no interference from passing cars. This ain't easy on my Eurovan. The spare is under the rear of the van, and you gotta crawl under the van a bit to get to it, loosen two bolts. Luckily, I was already in my paint-stained, household-chore work clothes. When I removed the flat, I found a fairly big hex-head screw, complete with washer, that had caused the flat. So, I got the spare on the van, and went to Les Schwab in Caldwell the next morning to have the original tire repaired and the spare put back where it belongs, under the van. Schwab got me in right away, repaired the flat, checked the balance, checked the inflation pressure on the rest of the tires, replaced the spare under the van, all with a smile. I was back home in under an hour. The charge? $0.00 !!! That is amazing. read more

I took my car in today for their free road trip inspection. When I returned to pick it up, I braced myself for the list of things they thought needed fixing. To my shock and surprise, they said all was in good working order and needed nothing fixed! I do take good care of my car, but thought for sure they would find something to make money off of me. I took my girlfriends car in to get rear breaks pads done. they said they could do it. when it was all done they said they replaced the entire rear break system and said it was 650$ which I did not have the money for. They never quoted me nor told me they couldn't just replace the break pads, but it was already done. I thought I was specific on just replacing the pads. worth noting when dealing with these guys. they'll up charge you without informing. read more

I could not be more satisfied with the custimer service I had at this Les Schwab location on 22nd Ave. in Caldwel Idaho. I have been a Les Schwab customer for 25 years. But, the vehicle that I brought to them, a ram 2500, I did not have Les Schwab tires. In fact, it had Cooper tires that I purchased in Missouri. No sooner had I pulled up in the parking lot than there was a person who came out to my truck and asked me how he could help me. I had a slow leak in one of my tires, I needed a rotation, and I wanted the balancing to be redone because I had problems with one of the tires wobbling. I dealt with Jeff, who was terrific. I fully expected a bill for all the services they provided. Instead, I was handed my key fob and told to have a great day. Les Schwab in general is a great company, but this one in Caldwel, Idaho was especially terrific. I will always be a Les Schwab customer! read more

Currently sitting in the lobby because I dropped off three go kart tires Friday early afternoon. Never got an estimated time so I figured worst case Saturday morning. Never hear back until I called today at 11am on Monday. They couldn't find my wheels. I came down found my wheels with only one being done. They finished the other two fairly quick but I paid $7.99 per stem and they didn't replace the next two and argued they were replaced when they had the slim from the old tires still on the stems... I work at Les schwab for a few years (south Nampa 126 as well in California) I think I can tell when a stem is new. They clearly do not take pride in their performance here. Hopefully Chris Baker can get these stores in line. I understand it's a hectic job and they get busy but to argue they replaced stems that clearly weren't is pretty ridiculous. Instead of just apologizing and making it right Val and I believe Josiah wanted to argue they were new I wish I took more pictures of the old stem vs the new ones they actually put on now. Crazy how the new ones are super clean and shiny (the threads) as the old were dirty and had old residue on them. I'll have to take the extra drive to south Nampa I guess and see Thomas so I know the work is done right and I won't be lied to. read more

These guys got to me quickly, were very professional, and then told me only twenty minutes later that the problem had been fixed -- and that there would be no charge! Discount Tires has always been my 'go to' tire place for service and replacement/new tires. I've had to re-think this choice after I was given some vague answers about not being able to repair a puncture in my almost new 'damaged' tire and how it was going to run me around $150 to replace it and get me back on the road (according to the Overland Rd., Boise Discount Tire location). They re-inflated my slow leaking tire (44 psi?... seemed to be too high but they said it was correct). Not 10 miles out of Boise, that tire blew out, disintegrated, leaving me struggling to control the car and safely getting it off the highway - hazard lights flashing. It had been raining hard throughout the day and I was staring at a 30-45 minute tire change on a narrow, soft silt gravel shoulder with another downpour about to begin. I took everything out of my trunk (long road trip, packed, full capacity), got the wimpy crank-turn jack and had to scrounge around for a piece of flat roadside lumber to keep the jack from sinking into the sand as I cranked to lift the vehicle. Looking up from my concentrated efforts, I saw a truck pulling off the road in front of me then backing down until it was just in front of my car. Out hopped Noah & Salvador. Noah asked one question. "Do you have a spare?" I told him, yes. In less than 8 minutes they had lifted the car with their hydraulic jack, removed the blown out wheel using their air lug wrench, put the spare I had removed from the trunk securely on and (with just my repeated 'thanks' and without accepting a tip for their efforts) had me back on the road. Not five minutes after getting back up the highway, it started to rain hard again. Les Schwab employees like Salvador and Noah should be highly commended for their diligence and service above and beyond. Their humble 'that's what we do as Les Schwab service people' does not detract from the reality that they could have kept going, continuing on to their previous destination and nobody would have known. They did something very good for and much appreciated by a traveler who wishes to express their "Thanks!" once again. read more

I'm super disappointed with my most recent dealing with this location. I was quoted a price over the phone to have winter tires put on and was ok with the price. So I made two appointments for my two vehicles. When I brought the first one in they told me the price was $60 more than what I was quoted and the guy told me there was no way I was quoted that because "my girls know the prices here." Yet he acknowledged that they do have that price for a winter package but just not for what I specifically needed done. Yet somehow it is my fault for their quote being wrong. I don't think so. I cancelled my second appointment and will NEVER be back to a Les Schwab even if I have to push my car on 4 flats for 10 miles to get to another place. read more

Came to this shop yesterday around 1pm and asked about getting an alignment. The young brunette at the customer service desk had literally zero customer service skills. I walked up to the counter with a smile on my face and greeted HER, without a response let alone a smile. I proceeded to explain that I was in need of an alignment. The only response I received was her eyes bugging out of her head and her picking up the phone. After several rings, a tech answered and she asked if they could do an alignment. She then laughs, hangs up and tells me they can keep it til the end of the day to get it done... I have no interest in sitting at a tire shop for 4 plus hours for a service that only takes about 45 minutes. I simply told her no thanks and left. I don't think I've ever felt like such an inconvenience as a customer. Took my business down the street to Commercial Tire where they know how to serve and treat their customers with respect and informed me it would be only about an hour wait. Les Schwab lost a customer of over 10 years. Time to change your ways and hire people who greet their customers and show some respect. read more

My fiance and I got a coupon for a "pre trip safety check" in the mail from a Les Schwab mail advertisement. My fiance took our car down to our local Les Schwab (315 S. 22nd Ave Caldwell, Idaho 83605) and presented the coupon to the employee at the front desk. This is what the coupon advertises: Our Free* Pre-Trip Safety Check includes a visual inspection to determine the condition of the following: Tire Inspection Tire Pressure Check Visual Wheel Alignment Inspection as indicated by tire wear Visual Inspection of Front End Components Visual Inspection of Brake Components Calipers Brake Rotors/Drums Brake Pads/Shoes, including braking material measurement using a brake gauge Brake Hose and Hardware Master Cylinder, including check of Brake Fluid Visual Inspection of Shocks and/or Struts Visual Battery Inspection and Load Test This is what happened when my fiance took our vehicle in to have the Pre-Trip safety check coupon deal honored: an employee wiggle the wheels, then asked another employee to come double check his work. The second employee wiggled the wheel. They told my fiance that the ball joints were bad. They then had a diagnostics review paper typed up and it states that the ball joints are bad and that the control arms need replaced. That's all that as done. They didn't even lift the hood and look under it, they didn't look under my car at all. They then told him they were finished and he could leave. When we were leaving Les Schwab they told us that the car was safe to drive. When we first got there I had explained to them that the steering had been jerking me around on the road. Does that sound like my car is safe to drive? Now how am I supposed to feel that the service we were supposed to get using this coupon was honored if all they did was wiggle the wheels and nothing else on the list of things to be done were done? How am I supposed to feel I can trust a company that advertises a service and then fails to do it and tells us that we don't need to come back tomorrow to have the rest done because they completed the pre trip safety check when that is very clearly not the case. How am I supposed to trust them when they tell me one thing is wrong and then write me a diagnosis review paper and quote for more than what they told us was wrong and these were diagnosed by two employees wiggling a couple wheels? This is the worst and most disappointing service I've ever received. We have been loyal customers for years now, our parents are loyal customers too, and this is how we are treated? I am now having to pay $60 at another company to have the same services checked that I was supposed to have checked by Les Schwab because I don't feel that my family is safe driving our vehicle out of town after Les Schwab failed to properly do their job. I will make sure that I write a review on this company for their terrible service on every website, magazine, newspaper that I can find that will put my review out there for the public to see so that no one else wastes their time getting ripped off and mistreated by them until they fix this and have made things right. Update on my review: after having another place check out my vehicle this is what is wrong with my car: Ball joints Rear axle needs replaced Inner and outer tie rods need replaced -alignment Shocks So everything that is wrong with my car could have been found by Les Schwab had they done their job. I went here yesterday and brought a tire that I had removed off my car that had been punctured. I marked where the nails were located and dropped off the tire. I went there under the impression that it would be a cheap, quick, repair. They then informed me that it would be $20 for the repair on a single tire that I removed and inspected for them. It took them around an hour to fix the damage. I'm not entirely sure why it cost $20 for a simple repair job. read more

I took my truck here to get a tire patched as there was a nail in it. I received a call from them about two hours later stating that my tires were 15 years old, when I bought my tires 2 years prior at a different location, and that they needed me to purchase a new set of tires in order for them to help me. I was by myself and I am female so I felt like they were totally taking advantage of me. When I went to pickup my truck I asked why they could not patch it and the lady up front rolled her eyes and called for somebody else to handle customer service. I will not be coming back. Now waiting for the to put my old tires back on which happen to be studded snow tires which should not be driven on at this point. Although this company is great to deal with, It's hard to understand why they're prices are so much higher than most other stores. In our particular case, almost $50. Per tire higher. This is a big savings especially when dealing with a fleet of trucks. They also do not come anywhere close to web pricing and will not negotiate. read more

We had our tires rotated at the Caldwell location. After leaving we notice our vehicle seemed much louder. I took it back the next week and was told "your tires are fine" but you have a blown strut and given a quote of $745 to repair. I asked why I wasn't told of this condition during rotation and was told that it had to have happened after we left, a significant impact most likely. We had barely drove the vehicle since rotation, I knew, and voiced this was impossible, we hit nothing, but got no where. I took our vehicle into Owyhee tires for a diagnosis, and was told the tire noise was from the tires being rotated from the rear to the front , it is a front wheel drive. The tires are "cupped" and this is normal. ALSO, the strut has a slight leak but repair was not necessary or even recommended at this time. Very disappointed and angry with Les Schwabs. I have to say that this store and the people working at it are fantastic! The manager and assistant manager are both great people and tremendously helpful. Specifically, my wife had a tire actuallyy blow out during rush hour, in the dark, on a busy freeway near this store. I was at work several miles away so I called them at slightly after 7AM and they were already there! They sent a service truck out to change her spare and then help her when she got to the store. She was very upset at the whole experience but their professionalism and help settled her down and really was a godsend. The only thing they care about is money! If you do your own ball joints and need the Alinements check they will find some reason to bag on your job you did. I fixed upper and lower ball joints and wheel baring. Then told my wife to take it in! they will find some reason to not do the job because you did your own mechanic work on your car. Just buy tiers and leave. I'm at the point I'm doing my tier rotation my self because you go in and someone wants new wheels, guess what you waiting you 2 hours for a free tier rotation that should take 15 min. But the kick you to that back of the line even if your first. PS I'm been going there for years the should seen I'm a valued customer. I'm not paying $800 for ball joints when it's $40 for the parts and easy to do at home with my ball joint press. I should be able to pay for alinement. Now wife's new tires are going to shit because I do my own work and bring it back to save money. read more

It's hard to even know where to begin with my review, but I guess the summary will be, GO TO LES SCHWAB TIRE CENTER!!! It will now be our goto place for any tire needs! My husband and I were on our 5th day of driving across the country from NC (moving to Oregon), and as we were going through Caldwell, we got a nail in our tire and lost air immediately....ON THE 4TH OF JULY!! So needless to say, NOTHING and NOONE was open to come and help us! Even AAA would only tow us a few miles....We were stuck at a gas station, hundreds of miles from our new home, and out of ideas!....until Sal showed up!! The luck of running into him at the gas station is just a small part of the story, but he saw we were needing help and jumped at the opportunity to help 2 people in desperate need!! He told us to follow him to Les Schwab (right down the road), and even though it was obviously his day off and he was probably on his way to have a great 4th of July, he patched up our tire for us in about 10 minutes and sent us on our way! PS they weren't even open! When we got his business card after the fact, and saw that their motto was "Doing the Right Thing Since 1952", we knew we'd never go anywhere else for tire needs!! Thank you so much Dakota! My Boyfriend was hauling his 22ft boat from Idaho Falls to Central Oregon when the tire on his boat trailer blew. We were a about 18 miles passed Caldwell and had to get it towed back at around 4:30. It took until about 6 to get the boat in to get the new tires and when it was ready most of the guys who had worked on it left but Dakota stopped and asked if we were all good as my boyfriend was loading it back up and we assumed we were all good so Dakota proceeded to leave when my boyfriend realized when the tire blew it pushed the fender into the tire so that the tire wouldn't move at all! (This trip was already so stressful as we had planned to be back to Oregon by about 5) when we saw Dakota drive up again and make sure we were okay again and my boyfriend let him know what had happen and Dakota stayed and helped with his own tools well past 7pm. So thank you so so much Dakota!! We still don't know what we would do if he hadn't stopped again to help! And thank you to all the other guys who stayed passed 5 as well. read more

Most of business with Les Schwab has been in the Emmett Idaho location and it's been very positive, but I had the misfortune of going to this Caldwell location just to get a regular tire rotation since it had been awhile since I purchased my tires. I thought it had gone well but I had two missing nuts that was pointed out to me while I was at work. I call the Caldwell Les Schwab immediately and the man who answered, Dakota, transfers me to his 'manager' David that says my safety is his priority and tells me he'll take care of me. I just wanted to problem solved but when I went in to this Caldwell location, I had to explain myself again to more people and wait half an hour for them to tell me they don't have the correct nuts. I wouldnt have been upset if their only solutions weren't to wait until Wednesday when they MIGHT have the right nuts come in or to go to even further to another location in another town OR go to the local hardware store. I work regular hours just like them and I SHOULD NOT have to be concerned to drive my vehicle because LES SCHWAB didn't service it correctly. read more

At first we thought we had great service. After spending $1,700. on tires and services. They said they had fixed the tie rod. Our truck still had a noise the following week. They pulled it in the garage said it was a tie rod. Pulled it into the parking lot and said it would be 2 hours before they could get to it. Thank goodness we still had the receipt that said they had fixed it the previous week. Well, it's been 4 1/2 hours and our truck is still sitting in the parking lot waiting to get fixed. Customer service is good until they get your money.... This is the worst service ever. I will never go back to this Les Schwab Tire Center ever. read more
