A Huge Thank You to Les Schwab of Coos Bay Oregon, and Sam, Jacob, and Rayce for their professionalism and prompt work and support to get us taken care of just before they closed. Our family was traveling from Cali to Portland Oregon on June 20th. We came across a tire issue and a gash in our passenger front. Les Schwab did not have the tire we needed however, they somehow made it happen for us and found a compatible size that would work just fine and that was safe and reliable for our make and model. Sam, found us a great deal for our tire needs and honored our warranty from our last purchase. I was visiting my daughter and she mentioned she had a rattle in the car and she just got new tires on so I thought it might be wheel alignment. I showed up and asked them to check it over, which their website said would be free. They did it in a very timely and efficient manner with very courteous and professional service. I told my daughter if she decides to do the recommendations she should go there. They gave me a printout and cost before they left so I knew exactly what they suggested. My daughter has experienced some mechanics that take advantage of her because she isn't as familiar with mechanical things as I. I would go back there if I had some issues. I thought their charges were a little high. I just got the wheels aligned on my vehicle in Minnesota and it was $119 and they were asking for 132. But then it's a different state and things tend to be a bit more spendy in Oregon. read more

I made an online appt on Saturday for today at 2pm because my new Hyundai had 3 tires that showed low pressure, so I figured I'd get them filled and stuff checked since I'm coming up on 10k miles. I showed up at 2 and 15 mins later, they not only filled all 4 tires but ROTATED my tires and checked the brakes FOR FREE!! Dont waste your time and money. I spent over 3 hours here on a Thursday afternoon attempting to get 2 tires installed and an alignment. I never received the alignment and had to go up to the front desk and ask about my car to find out it had been finished quite awhile ago. After a bunch of finger pointing and no manager (he suddenly "left" for the day) i was on my way with half a job. I was told the manager, Tracy, would call me and i was also told i would receive an email with an online survey where i could voice my concerns. I have received neither. But hey, thanks Cody for trying. Schwab indicated on my paperwork that i needed Outer Tie Rods on both sides in the front and i also needed front brakes. I took my vehicle to a reputable mechanic in Bandon this morning for a second opinion and was told the Outer Tie Rods are fine but the inner Tie Rods could be changed, although it is not urgent. I was also told my brakes are fine with 50% life still on the pads....another 5,000 miles or so. Maybe Schwab needs to treat their clients a little better, have more respect for their time and possibly hire some better mechanics. I dont appreciate the hard sell and the scare tactics used to try to get me to have services done that are not needed. I do not live close, had to leave work early to have my vehicle looked at and sit around in the lobby for 3 1/2 hours to change 2 tires. Not cool. I definitely will not return to this establishment. I should have stuck with Walmart tires. If you value your time and money and want a competent mechanic to work on your vehicle, i would suggest going elsewhere. read more

I sent my daughter there for an alignment after her car accident. The gentleman there said that there was nothing wrong with her alignment, but yet her steering wheel was not centered, and the front wheel wasn't straight vertically. Took car to a different shop, and find out that all kinds of things are wrong with it, and was told that she shouldn't be driving it. Every time I get serviced here, it's thorough and pleasant. Recently, after having a new set of tires put on, I noticed some vibration in the steering wheel on the highway. The initial inspection was reported back to me as a not sure what could be wrong from the attendant. He consulted his boss for a second opinion and his boss was spot on! So I asked if they could plug or patch a tire and they said they would look at it and they said there's no charge to do so but there would be a little bit of a wait maybe 2 or 3 hours... where I come from in there's a tire shop on every corner and somebody there to plug your tire Within a minute or two ...but around here in Coos Bay just getting a tire plugged or patched is the much more drama apparently... But I said I would wait since I couldn't find another place ...so i literally waited 2 hours & the guy ambled over & said something like "corporate policy won't allow us to patch tires like this" pointing to some slightly worn areas on the side... If they are SO stringent any one of them could have & should have told me RIGHT AWAY the tire was in PLAIN SIGHT for them to take 15 seconds to glance at .. (OR they simply dont want to provide their free service) . then He said he would take a look in the back for a used tire & he came back and said no used tires but "we can sell you a new tire for $155 " C'mon Les Schwab. You can do better than that . I know you can But here's the further irony: I ended up going to another place in another town not far from Coos Bay ...a private independent place... and they patched it NO PROBLEM. the guy didn't even mention any worn out spots in the side read more

My wife and I experienced a flat tire on our motor-home while touring the Oregon Coast. We were safely off the road, and it was Sunday, so I had to exchange the flat with my spare tire myself. All tires were purchased from Les Schwab two years prior. On August 11, our next travel day, at about 11:30 am, we were driving through Coos Bay and I stopped at the Les Schwab Tire Center on S. Broadway to have my lug nuts checked for tightness, to have the spare patched, and to have the air pressure checked in all of my tires. I spoke to the receptionist, told her what I needed, and she immediately directed me to pull around to the back of the store where commercial vehicles are serviced. I did so and was immediately greeted by Tyler. Tyler was friendly, professional, and very efficient. He did everything I asked and had us back on the road in about 30 minutes. I couldn't have been happier with the customer service promise of Les Schwab, the company, or with Tyler, a competent and friendly face. read more

Old school high quality customer service. Got towed here after getting a flat tire and discovering I didn't posses the correct key for the lug-nut on my aftermarket tires. Because I have a warranty through an unnamed competitor back in San Diego, I need to get my car to one of the competitors locations (too far to be towed - but I could drive there on a spare) to have the tire replaced at $0. What a great company. I had an accident where I slide off the road into a ditch and when it was pulled out the tire was off the rim. I took it to Les Schwab in Coos Bay and they washed it up and put the tire back on the rim, checked it out and checked out the rest of the cars tires and brakes. When I asked how much. We had a less than good experience here yesterday. We got in to the shop behind some folks, but this is not why we were there for so long. I brought my truck in for 2 front tires, best remaining tires to be put in the back, and an oil change. After walking / shopping for around 1 hour we came back to the shop to check progress. The oil change was not started. Ok so no problem, we hung around and monitored progress and the ebb and flow of the shop, and progress notes on our truck. After 45 more minutes pass, the oil change is started. Around 30 minutes later the oil change is done but original tires are still on the vehicle. Around this time I walk back and look through the windows to see the majority of the shop staff gathered around an employees truck, with one guy underneath the truck, 4 or so techs watching and joking. I walked out, asked about an eta for my truck, and was told the tires were next (not what I asked, I knew this already) they then continued to talk around employees truck, then had some water poured on the ground and conducted a massive peel out in the same truck with employees cheering on before finally going back to work our truck. It was nearly 3 hours in this shop and our time was not treated respectfully, and the work not done to match the invoice. This shop was unable to liberate my spare from under my truck, and later I inspected and found no effort made to rotate the remaining tires to put the best on the back, as I was charged for, and no oil change sticker either. We will not come back, be ye warned Update: tech told me my spare tire tools were absent, turns out they are there and factory-new. What a nightmare. Three visits to the location and I'm leaving with a half done project. I tried to have a trailer hitch installed. Came in to have vehicle inspected so they could order the correct parts. Scheduled another appointment once I was notified that the parts were in. The hitch bar itself mounted easily within minutes. The wiring harness became a disaster. The brake controller install never even got started. Everything online says it's all plug-and-play, but the first tech couldn't even find the factory outlet. I had to crawl under my vehicle to show them. Long story short, several hours, and lots of research, and the answer is finally that I'm going to Uhaul to finish the install that Les Schwab can't seem to get parts for. Super, super disappointed. Oh, did I mention that I paid $40 for the mechanic to turn 6 bolts, and more than 40% more for the same hitch that's readily available online? read more

I've never had worse service and work done on a car of mine than at this store. i went in to have four new tires put on. On the way home I lost a hubcap as i made a turn. I parked at home and later that evening i saw my passenger side front tire was completely flat! Frustrating but shit happens you know. After calling and at the suggestion of the desk person I came in early the next morning to have a new tire put on. I was told it would only take a little bit before they could get to my car and I left to walk around. After two hours i went back and saw my car hadn't moved. I asked one of the mechanics how much longer and was informed that they didn't have the tire that they told me they would have and that i should come back the next day when they got them in. I got to the store at 930am as suggested only to learn that the shipment wouldn't be there till later in the afternoon. I left. A couple of day later i went to have the ONE tire replaced and waited over 5 hours in and around the store. I saw so many cars pull in get service and leave over and over again. If anyone had said it was going to be a long wait that would have been fine but everyone i talked to either didn't know or said it shouldn't take that. Finally late in the day i saw them pull my car in and were done in 10min! after all that poorly communicated waiting. They then tried to charge me for work which was in warranty cuz it had just been done. So after three trips and almost an entire work day of waiting I finally got what i came in for. The next week as i was getting ready drive home for my mom's funeral the driver's side back tire began leaking around the valve stem. I scrapped my plans to drive home and had purchase a flight. When i got back to Coos Bay i received a call from the store asking for payment (AGAIN) on the factory faulty tire they had replaced before i left which as i said was under warranty. i have not taken it back yet. I had hoped to go to another store but the location near me had worse reviews if you can believe it! The total lack of professionalism and sound work are astounding. The complete disregard for my time and resources not mention my business is disgusting. I can't believe people actually run a store with such incompetence. Is that the norm? Does it take every customer nearly half a dozen trips to get four tires put on? Absolutely abysmal. After buying a new set of SUV tires, my daughter found herself 3 days later with something horrific sticking out of the left front tire. I needed 1tire for my 2012 Honda Fit. Les Schwab in Coos Bay did not have one in this size. They called all the tire stores and Wal Mart to try and find one. No one in the area had this odd size tire on hand. We were traveling through the area and could not wait the two days to get one here. They looked thru there use tires and found one that would fit. They mounted it on the rim and told me the car was ready to go. I told them that I had not payed yet. THEY SAID NO CHARGE... I was totally blown away.
