After gaining more knowledge in the RV experience i am ready to give a equitable review. Purchased an rpod trailer in 2016. Very good purchasing and sales experience. Sales staff is knowledgeable and friendly. All great that way. Financing was good too with good rates and terms. The sercice department was excellent. Had an issue and was resolved promptly. What really disappointed me was the attitude at the sales counter. Parts and accessories. The younger lady behind the counter was very short and when i asked questions she was very abrupt with her answers. While you asked questions you could kind of tell she knew more but would not offer much more info than what was asked. We go to another arpod dealer for servicing and accessories. Most other places ask questions to make sure they understand what you want. Or what your trying to do. read more

We were searching for a specific model for a Keystone Cougar travel trailer. Porter's had the model we were looking for and quoted us the best price via email exchanges. We lived a 3-hour drive from there, so made a down payment over the phone and agreed to pick it up the following week. I specifically asked them to have the trailer prepped, inspected, clean, and have any defects repaired prior to our arrival, as we didn't want to drive 3 hours just to find out it needed repairs when we got there. The salesman assured me they took pride in making sure all of their inventory was inspected thoroughly. Upon our arrival the following week, we were given the tour of the trailer. First thing that stood out was damage to the exterior front cap where it looked like someone hit it with a bat or board. Large dent very noticeable and cracking in the fiberglass. And someone had tried to cover-up some of the damage with black spray paint. Second thing noticed was the black tank flush connection was missing. No where to be found. Salesman tried to tell us that they aren't on every trailer. Sorry, but I disagree. And they said they would check specs to see if that specific model had one. Yet every other model on the lot had one. It was simply not installed at the factory. Third thing was a drawer inside literally fell out of the frame and track when my wife opened it. Window screens were broken, rubber gaskets loose. Loose molding, etc...And the final straw was when we were pulling the bedroom slide in and the slide dug into the flooring causing the entire floor to ripple. The owner finally agreed to let us out of the deal and gave us our deposit back. He said they would probably contact Keystone to return the trailer that should have been completely totaled. The biggest surprise was when our friends called about the same trailer the next day. They were told that they had originally sold it to a "Doctor, but the Doc had a family emergency and was unable to come get it." The salesman went on to say that the trailer was still available." A total lie. This business is knowingly selling trailers that are absolutely lemons and should have been returned to the factory. Instead, they try to hide the defects and sell a lemon to an unsuspecting customer. The integrity of this business is awful and they should be ashamed of themselves for their lack of transparency and honesty. read more

These guys saved our lives! When we had our easy lift hitch stolen in the middle the night from the Mills casino RV park; we were stuck upstream without a paddle. ***I started visiting this store for 5th wheel rv parts back in early 2015 through 2018, when I lived in Lakeside. They always had items I needed. But the main thing was the absolute sweetheart in the parts dept. I can't remember her name, but she knew everything there was possible to get what I wanted and right every time. If I remember right she may have mentioned being the daughter of the owner, but that has been over 5 years now. She is someone you will never forget: Beautiful personality, super good attitude, knows all there is about rv's, makes you feel like you are always her most important customer. Sold my rv 2019 and moved inland so no more visits. She is an outstanding example of coastal friendliness. I should know as I had moved back from Hawaii 2015 and learned that Hawaiian aloha is all fake. Oregon coast people are the real thing and make Hawaiian aloha look pathetic. read more

I had my 2004 5th wheel in for repairs several times over the past year and Porter's was always top notch. This last time there were a couple issues. I was told the job was complete. My fault for not checking, but when I got home I found used surgical gloves on the floor and a few other things out of place. It seemed as though the tech had been called away in the middle of the job and didn't come back to finish or clean up. I also discovered they peeled and sealed the wrong window, after I had described it to them and sent a picture with an arrow pointing to the one that needed it. In fairness, they offered to do the correct one for free when I next brought the trailer in. That was nice. Last, one of the techs offered to help me hook up while I went in to pay. He failed to put the landing gear pin in properly and it was half way out when I got home. That was horrifying, because if that gear would have fallen at 65 mph...well you get the picture. Lesson learned. Always hook up myself. read more

While traveling just South of Coos Bay Oregon, pulling our trailer, a "marsh mellow fork" found it's way into the wiring opening in the inverter. A smoldering fire started melting some of the wiring and filling the trailer with smoke. We luckily had stopped to get a cold soda and discovered the fire. We put out the fire and drove to Porter's RV to check for required repairs. Joey, the Service Coordinator, checked out the problem and asked Bob, the Service Manager, to help us. Bob checked the inverter and found it was not damaged. Bob trimmed the burnt wires, relocated the inverter to accommodate the shorter wires. They had us back on the road in less than one hour and only charged $50. We are throughly impressed with the service and honesty at Porter's RV. read more

I just wanted to start off with the Sales dept and the girls at the supply counter rock..AAAA+++ now where I'm not satisfied is with the Service Dept. I just purchased a new RV and during my walk thru the vent flap for the stove was broke, I as under the impression that while I was finishing up my paperwork this was replaced only to find out the service tech just stuck it back up only to have it fall out on my vacation. This was laterally 5 minute fix and covered by the warranty (part was in stock) but I had to go down to get it replaced on my time. This should have been replaced before I left the lot. read more

Josh shared with me the reputation of the manufacturer and the quality of the product. They set me up with a deal I could not refuse with the customer service I could only expect from a top notch dealership. Being a salesperson for a very large dealership in boats, I know what is expected. The purchase, financing, and delivery process was great. After delivery service has been very pleasant. went in to see about downsizing my 5th wheel. nada on the one i was looking at was $7600 base, mine is $12,000 base. they wanted me to pay them $6000. sounds pretty stupid to me, as theres needed some work, and mine was fine. they should have offered me some money, but as was in the car business for years, i understood making a profit, but i hate that because i am a blond older female, they were trying to take advantage of me. i would have given them about $2000, just because i liked the smaller camper. read more

If we could review Porter's with less than one star, we would. A little over a year ago, they sold us a motor home without disclosing several of the unsafe aspects of the rig and took full advantage of our trust. We noticed the steering column was loose, the brakes were poor and it ran ragged when we took our walk-thru. The gentleman appeared to be writing down our concerns but when we picked it up on delivery, nothing was written on our copy of the form. It didn't start the following day and when we contacted them they said we didn't mention anything during our walk thru - which we clearly did. We took it back after one week and even though they said they would make good on their word, the treated us disrespectfully and we drove away without making another bad deal with them. It's unfortunate because we will never give them good word of mouth and never refer anyone to buy from them. We understand it's "Buyer beware" but it should also state "Seller be honest". We would like to thank LTM Truck and RV Repair and Tom's Bulldog Automotive for their trustworthy repairs on this motor home. We ended up putting over $4,000 into repairs over this year. bought our cougar about 5 months ago. was informed courgars are known for not leaking exc. well first rain storm we had started leaking left front of bedroom slide out. called set up appointment to have fixed. we live 1 and half hours away. about 65 dollars in gas to haul trailer their expecting them to fix it...well they siliconed it where the leak was coming from..(not a permanent fix...) said the right side was fine...NOW LEAKING FROM RIGHT SIDE...
