I use only COOPER TIRES on my (motor)vehicles, and was confident they would hold up after hitting numerous potholes/boulders during a journey from the Bay Area to St. LouisMO. Whilst underway, severe shaking of the steering wheel gradually decreased to barely noticeable, but when re-fueling in FallonNV, I noticed the formerly nearly-new Cooper tires (front) had developed serious bald spots. Went in for an oil change and new tires. They took my vehicle without letting me know and when they left they cut across 4 lanes of traffic with no signal. Then proceeded to slam on the brakes and do a U-Turn across the lanes. Then drove it like they stole it back to the shop. I wouldn't be to upset but it was raining hard out and I'd rather them not crash my sports car. When I told them I had a dash cam and informed them what happened they got quite and said it's not the technicians first time doing that. read more

I just left there and am highly disappointed. I grew up in Fallon Ben coming to Les Schwab. All these years and work has always been consistent. Employees haven't been consistent, but that's fine. That's just part of the business. However, in regards to their policies and updates they should know that you don't have to replace all four tires on a electric vehicle. The car is all a little drive with four separate motors, which is entirely separate than a all-wheel-drive car. Tesla itself replaces one single tire at a time however Le Schwab won't. I hope that it's not a sales tactic to turn my $400 tire until a $1800 purchase for four tires. The staff there was very dismissive and rude. I had to ask several times the question about Tesla and the clerk even went to the garage where I saw a customer service manager, put his hands up and give the phone to the employee aggressively for no reason because I'm a customer asking a question about a specific vehicle that they have tires for it. And then the gentleman was so nice to come out to my car to look at the owners manual they also states that you can replace one tire if needed. If given the measurements on on the rest of the tires were in good standing. My tires are new and I was replacing one tire. I will not come back to Les Schwab fix it. Update. The gentleman that was nice enough to help me and come outside. Told me he was going to go and work on some information for my car left and never came back. He is now servicing the car next to me who showed up after I did and did not say anything to me. What is going on here? read more

These guys came to our rescue when we blew two tires between Schurz and Hawthorn. If you know that area there is limited to no cell service. Triple A was no help. Bought two front tire's last year. I just replaced all 4 and they sold me 2 DIFFERENT tires and the WRONG size. So yes, I had 3 different brand of tires on, plus the front two were smaller than the back ones. BEWARE and check your tires before you leave this place. While I have gotten service on tires in the past through this company, today I leave a review for a different reason. I got stranded when my truck broke down. I was towed into the city and could not find any help getting home. I started walking and was approached by the manager. I told him my situation, he let me in to the ac and made sure I had a way home. Him and his staff were so nice to me. It was one of those once in a lifetime moments where you have no clue what you are going to do. In a town by myself, no vehicle, knowing no one and husband stranded in another location with our trailer. Running into them was such a blessing. Would come to them and recommend them. On a return trip from Reno to Idaho in our truck with camper on it, we had a rear tire come apart and ended up on the side of the Interstate 5 miles west of Lovelock. We called the tire shop in Lovelock but it was Saturday and they were closed. Yelp directed us to the Les Schwab in Fallon over 40 miles to the South. We called and they immediately dispatched a service truck to come help us. Jeff showed up with two tires on his truck and immediately got to work replacing the damaged tire. We then drove to the next off ramp to get off the Interstate and had him put the other tire he brought on the other rear. Since our spare tire was very old, I asked if he would put the tire he took off rear on to the spare, which he did in a few more minutes. Yes tires are expensive today especially "E" rated tires but the price we felt was very fair. Jeff did a very quick and extremely efficient job of fixing our problem and getting us back on the road. Give me a bunch of car maintenance errands and send me down the road to Fallon, NV. Got up Saturday morning and dropped my car off at Les Schwab at 7:30 AM to have my snow tires put on. By 8:30 AM they were on and my car was waiting for me in the front of the building. Service is great at Les Schwab. Yes, they do run out and greet you just like the commercials say. Everyone is friendly. Easy in and out. Done within an hour. Prices are comparable. read more

The mechanic showed me why (to no fault of his own, due to a stupid remedy by Ram) that he couldn't center my steering wheel. When I went to pay I had a certificate for a free alignment that didn't cover the full price, I offered to pay the difference, and was refused, and my alignment was free. 10/10 would recommend, the mechanic knew what he was talking about and showed his work. I've been going to this Les Schwab for sometime now. They've sold me tires twice now (four each time) and with their offer to do free rotations and free plugs (if I get a leak/nail in a tire) after the sale I see them at least once every five or six weeks. These guys do as good a job as anyone can in getting the car in-and-out as quickly as possible. They offer competitive pricing, too. As a matter of fact, they often come in with lower quotes for tires! If you need tires, you really should stop in and get a quote...you may be pleasantly surprised! I try to go early. They typically have the POPCORN machine humming in the waiting area by then, and fresh coffee!! read more

5/14/19 Appointment only. I was still talking to the tire technician when he cut me off and answered the phone. Very disrespectful and I am unimpressed with this Les Schwab. I have never had an issue before. I will never come back here and would not recommend this establishment. Update: 5/16/19 I received a call from the Fallon Les Schwab manager apologizing for the way I was treated. He said he would bring up the issue at the next meeting. I was grateful. Update: 5/20/19 I am at the Carson City Les Schwab and they told me that the issue I am having may not be an alignment issue. They set me up with a balance and rotate for the tires and they will do a free alignment check. So if the Fallon Les Schwab would have just talked to me about my issue with the truck, I could have gotten the tires rotated and balanced same day 5/14/19. It would have taken care of the issue of the shaking that I was experiencing while driving. read more

We were driving through Fallon on the way to Ely, 250 miles away on desolate US50 when one of our tires sprung a leak. Les Schwab was one of the few tire shops open on a Saturday afternoon - thankfully. Quick, professional service and we were on our way in less than 30 minutes, and at no charge to fix the leak. Called to schedule an appointment to have tires installed that I had purchased online. Was told there was no appointment needed and to come in tomorrow (Saturday). I get there Saturday morning and the lady at the front tells me that they don't install new tires not purchased from them on Saturdays but they can do it Mon-Fri. Terrible communication and customer service. Not to mention their price to install the tires was double that of Cbar R tires but I was just going to pay the extra to have them installed on Saturday. read more

Today, I stopped to hopefully just get some air in a rear tire. Turns out, I had a nail or screw in the tire. I had the tired repaired. Got a flat tire an hour out of Fallon about an hour before they closed. Called them up and they said as long as I get there before they close they'll get it done and get me and the family back on the road. Got in just a few minutes before they closed, and even though they were working on a few cars It was no problem. Great service, went out of their way for me, and let us get back on the road. Took my side by side tire in to have it looked at because it was leaking. Scott was the only person at the front desk. He was not friendly at all and I could tell he was just annoyed at what seemed to be everything. He took our tire and told us two hours to get it looked at and possibly fixed. We left it and decided to check on it an hour later. Thankfully because no thanks to Scott, Les Schwab won't even work on our tire! Glad he was so helpful and let us know before we waited an hour. After getting my tires rotated at the local jiffy lube my rear passenger tire went flat within 24 hours. I put the spare tire on and went back to jiffy lube to have it checked out. They aired it up and called it good. I wasn't convinced so I took it to Les Schwab Tires... They immediately took the car in, inspected the tire and determined a stuck valve core was the cause. They changed it out and mounted the tire. When I asked for the charges, the guy smiled and said "no charge". They spent a good 30 minutes helping me out and didn't charge anything. Booked an appointment for an alignment, tires, and break check the only thing they had me booked for is tires and break check. Once I got there they didn't even have the tires they needed for my car they had to get them delivered and they couldn't do my alignment because they didn't have it on the schedule for me. Not at all friendly took them almost an hour longer then stated to do a simple flat repair. Had a young kid (20 something) tried to start my diesel truck like it was a gas rig, freaked the ECM out, threw 4 different codes, luckily I had a code scanner with me. Cleared the codes and let the ECM load properly was able to drive away. I have purchased tires here before, even have an account with them, but I won't be back. So, simply put these guys are great! Traveling with our pickup and camper, had what I thought was a bad brake and I was already nervous about the rear tires I had on as they were used ones I had to buy in remote Nevada due to a tire separation. The guys at this shop squeezed us in and stayed late (8 pm or so) to fix things and get us back on the road safely. In addition to the normal Les Schwab quality and prices, this crew went the extra mile with their service and quality of work. I sincerely hope that Les Schwab upper management recognizes how good of a job they do. I have to agree with most people and from my own experience that their tire repair service is tops, BUT I would be very careful about having them do any break work. I took a tire in to have a flat repaired and when I picked up my vehicle, I was told that my rear breaks were almost down to the metal and needed to be replace right away. Since I have a mechanic that I have do all my maintenance, I took the vehicle over to him to have the brakes repaired. When he looked at them, he said that they still had at least 40% of the pads left and that I certainly didn't need to have them replace yet. When I showed him the estimate from Les Schwab, he notice that they wanted to replace the calipers and told me that seldom do these items need to be replaced and it just adds to the price. Les Schwab wanted over $600.00 to do the work and my mechanic said that he does break jobs all the time for $200.00. Before you let Les Schwab do anything more than sell you tires or fix a flat, I would check with someone else first. read more

Went in on a first come first serve basis was out under 2 hours. Overall, great attitude and from what I saw teamwork. Appeared that the staff enjoyed working there. Very competent, and more importantly, an honest shop. I have used them for many years. Not the cheapest place to go, but quality of work for me has been outstanding. I was impressed that I once took a vehicle in for brake work, just preventive because the car had a lot of miles, and after inspection they said it just wasn't quite time...that perhaps I could get another 20,000 miles of 9mainly highway service) out of the brakes. Another time, I had them turn the rotors "on axle" on a 300ZX sports car that I had, that was "giving the wobble" to the steering wheel when braking, despite brand new rotors. They did a perfect job and they said that the machine only had to take a few thousands of an inch off the rotors to true them...then they worked perfectly and the car braked smooth as glass. Store is kept quite busy, so you should give them a few hours to work on things...and make an appt for brakes to make sure a mechanic is available...they won't have a guy trained only on tires do your brakes. Note many of their tires are name brand but specific model style are exclusive to their store in the US, so price comparison is not usually very fruitful. They would come in a little high anyway, but the service is always there. I also know, from a fellow I know who used to work there, that they provide a very decent benefit package to their employees, and supposedly the company splits the store profit with the employees at the end of the year. That explains I guess why the same guys are there 10 years later...not a high turnover place I would say. read more

They charged $182 to install tires from tire rack, this did not include lifetime rotation and balance, I have never been charged more than a hundred dollars for the service. They broke the center cap off my wheel and said it was already broken, it was not. Go someplace else, I have never received worse service. read more

Bought 60,000 mile tires. Brought them in for inspection at 3,000 miles, rotation at 5,000 miles and again at 11,000 miles. Every time they told me the tires looked good. Had to have another place do an alignment three days after the 11,000 mile rotation and they told me two tires were down to 2/32 in tread. Les Schwab was willing to give me all of about $40 off a new set of tires to replace their defective ones. 11,000 miles on 60,0000 mile tires is ridiculous. I will go to Tedford Tire, where they actually care about their customers and their reputation. read more

Over the years I have been generally happy with Schwab, in Fallon and Reno. However the last visit for a rotation undercut my confidence. They presented me with an $800 estimate for a bunch of steering gear work they said was needed. I was perplexed because the vehicle was a lightly used RV with 64,000 highway miles on it. It had no drive-ability issues or unusual tire wear indications. As an old mechanic, I jacked it up and could detect no unusual slack in anything. Then I took it to my trusted local independent automotive shop and asked him to check it during a brake job. He spent an hour going over it. He said there was no problem with the front end. When I showed him the Schwab diagnosis and estimate. He said "90% of the time that my customers come in with these Schwab estimates I find that the work is not necessary." Hmm. Makes one wonder. Was this just a case of a less-than-competent tire guy? Or something else? read more

I have used Les Schwab for 35 years starting in Northern Idaho. I have always been impressed by their service, up until about 3 years ago. Had trouble with tires cupping, was told needed struts and shock which I put on and had car aligned. Still cupping tires. Finally after 3 alignment was told I needed after market cam bolts which I installed and it corrected the problem. Took my jeep in due to 2 tires leaking, asked to have them fixed, ( Les Schwab tires) and balanced because they were hopping. I live 35 miles from the store. When I got on the road after the work done on the jeep it was still hopping, and after 2 days one of the tires was half flat again. Took it back, no apology, but this time they did fix the tires and balance them. It seem the service over the years has gone down hill some. I am seriously thinking about making a change in companies for my tires. Hate too because I have always been with these guys and it isn't just the Fallon store, the Carson store told me they couldn't do anything about the alignment problem. It was actually the Fallon store's alignment person that finally solved the problem after my second set of tires being cupped. read more

They were somewhat busy so I waited in line and the lady at the front counter acknowledged me and said she would be right with me, and she was. I just needed some air so she asked me to pull behind the bay and the guys would take care of me at no charge. I even asked directions and she was so pleasant and with a smile didn't even hesitate to help a traveler out. The entire time she was happy and so nice to everyone I saw her interact with. This was my experience: Upon arrival I waited briefly to check in for my appt, after my turn in line I stated my name and why I was there. The desk personnel tells me I can't possibly have an appt for what I am asking for, I state that I do indeed have one, it was made a while ago and that I am tired, maybe I don't have the exact terminology down pat, please forgive. (What if a family member had made the appt. and I'm just dropping off?? I shouldn't have to memorize the requested services, that's why they have computers) I then repeat that I called and made an appt last week. She asks me my name again, even though I just said it, and looks me up in the computer, she then proceeds to tell me, "I'll have to see if we can even still see you, you're late, we filled your spot." I was late yes, it's a work day, I have to leave my job with a ride to bring the car here, I am ten minutes late, plus the few in line. So now I'm told I need to re-schedule due to my tardiness. I grudgingly agree to do so, stating that with a full time job I need a 'window' to arrive in in case I have a client I can't just walk out on, so I'm told to be in 'by' 5 p.m. then it changes to "No, for that work you'll have to be here by 4", I repeat myself that I work until 5 p.m. Perhaps there's another company better suited to service my vehicle? Then the tone changes and I'm told that I can do half of the work now and the other half next week at a 5 p.m. appt., so I agree to have someone else drop the vehicle for this 5 p.m. appt and that for today I'll leave the vehicle here now to get some of the work done. This entire time of interaction has been incredibly awkward and I feel as if I'm a criminal taking up someones time, there is zero personable skills coming from the desk receptionist. I felt from the get go like I was on trial or had inconvenienced someone. At this point I'm told how much it will be for today's work, which is almost double what I was quoted on the phone for the ENTIRE job I scheduled when I made the original appt. After about four solid minutes of back and forth as to why I'm being charged more, I state that I made an appt for SPECIFIC services, she reads to me what was in the computer and it was not what I asked for. So I clarify what I want and please don't add extras on, so we reach an agreement, I even offered an apology to the 'confusion' when really if my appts in the computer regarding what services I wanted and it was done incorrectly, why am I apologizing? Then I leave. Hours later I I get a call from a tech saying bad news, but you need two new tires, would you like me to start that now? I say no, I have worn tires, not bald tires, I just need the basic services I requested, to which I'm told that they won't provide the services if I don't get the new tires. - I now have an appt elsewhere where they will provide the services and hopefully the customer service is considerably less chilly. Sadly as my co-workers chauffeured me back and forth today taking and getting my car, they all said "I don't go here" and I wondered why....... now I know. read more
