Oil change was great - there was a screw in my back tire - they repaired it with no extra charge - I also brought my wife's suv for an oil change immediately after - they took care of both vehicles within an hour or two - love this place and they did an outstanding job. I've now brought my truck here twice for quotes. First time, it was around $600 but I bought the parts for around $20 and spent about 30 minutes doing the whole job myself. Went yesterday for another repair and they quoted me over $1000. Took my truck to an auto shop down the road, which they were able to do the job for a little over $200. These guys are crooks- adding on way more than is needed. I would never recommend anyone go here, except maybe for the popcorn. read more

If you want to get ripped off go there. I had a squeaky brake sound. They quoted me a price of $1,200 to replace ALL my breaks . My car only has 70,000 miles on it. I felt uncomfortable with the quote so I took it to another shop. All it had was a lot of dust build up on the front pads. The other shop blew the dust off and oiled the pads $92 . The girl at the front desk, America, is rude and should not be in customer service. She had "stank" face the entire time, was not pleasant to talk to and could tell she was mad at the world. She will ruin your business management. Please fire her and find someone meant to help your customers. The guys outside were welcoming and got my tires checked with no charge. Every other employee there was helpful and with good attitude when helped outside but the minute I entered, I was turned off as a customer wanting to make a purchase. Every single time I bring my car in I am impressed with the professionalism and the efficiency in which they service my vehicle. This morning I dropped in without an appt to get new tires for my Lexus. Immediately, I was shown 3-4 options of affordable tires. I chose the tires I wanted and within minutes my car was on the rack being serviced. Not only is the service here great every single time, they are also kind and honest. They never try to up sell me, which is refreshing. Needed an alignment today after a four new tire purchase from Costco. Got to Les Schwab (Merced, CA) before 11am Saturday morning. I was thinking this would have been plenty of time to get a four wheel alignment done before they closed for the day at 5pm. The response that I received by one of their service technicians was that they were too busy and that he did not think that my car would get done by the end of the day. Hmmm...and yet other customers were being helped as I was seeing their service orders being written up. Maybe it was because I wasn't buying tires from them? Does Les Schwab give preferential service to those who spend the $1000 with them over my $120 alignment? Not sure, but I'm never going to Les Schwab for the way I was treated. I phoned a business less than a mile away and their response was super. They got me in and done in about an hour. If you are ever in Merced and need a tire alignment after buying from Costco, go to West Coast Tires & Auto...you won't be disappointed. read more

Highly recommend Les Schwab of Merced. I take all of my vehicles here. They are honest and reliable. They are not the cheapest place in town but you save big time in the long run. They honor their warranties and don't suggest unnecessary repairs. They will check you car for free and then give you a honest appraisal. This is the only brake and tire shop in town that I completely trust. Plus you can relax in comfort watching TV , charging your phone at the charging station, eating popcorn and drinking coffee or coco for free as you wait. Don't get your brakes done here. I got mine changed - new pads and rotors - and they've been squeaking ever since. Took it in twice and it didn't get fixed. Was given a refund because I don't have any more time right now to deal with it but it still sucks I have to hear my brakes squeaking every time I stop. It's the worst. read more

April 24: I brought my 24' Class C Rv to Les Schwab for a flat repair on the inside dual passenger side. The service Brandon and his crew provided was about as good as it gets. They determined that the valve extension needed to be replaced as well as the tire vavle. They went to extraordinary lenghts to make sure my rig was ready to hit the road. The best part? Let me start off by saying I would give 10/5* stars if I could!! Let me explain... I got time today!! On Thursday (April 13th) I replaced the struts and shocks on my GMC Acadia. Immediately I researched the least expensive place to take my car to in order to get a full alignment done. The best price I could find was Pep Boys ($100)... So on Friday (April 14th) I drove to Pep Boys to have the alignment performed. I was "helped" by the rudest "customer service" agent named Hernan C. (See attached photo) who immediately told me, "I'll contact you as soon as I know what parts you need" which I found interesting since I wasn't aware, and neither was he that I needed parts... I was there for an alignment. Two hours later, Hernan C. Called me to let me know a plethora of things were either missing or needed repair and oddly enough by his notes "both" at the same time, which doesn't make a bit of sense... for my vehicle before an alignment could be performed... to the total of $1,802.00!! See attached photo. I informed Hernan C. NOT to touch my car and I would be there immediately to pick it up! Fast forward to today, April 18th... I had an appointment with Les Schwab for the EXACT same thing... an alignment... before I spent $1,802.00 as requested by Pep Boys, you better believe I was going to get a second opinion!! I notified the very nice and polite (female) customer service agent at Les Schwab that the GMC might need a few new parts that may be damaged or missing and if that was the case to please call me with an estimate. She obliged and told me that she would do just that. About an hour later I received a telephone call from Les Schwab stating that my vehicle was ready for pickup and that there was NOTHING damaged and NOTHING that needed to be replaced!! HERNAN C. from Pep Boys in Merced,CA was lying and made up damaged and missing parts to try and get over on me to the tune of approximately $1,700.00 of unneeded and unnecessary part and repairs!! I'm actually disgusted and will be contacting the Better Business Bureau tomorrow regarding Pep Boys criminal business practices. It's no wonder they were sued years ago for this exact reason to the tune of millions of dollars!! I am so thankful for honest people like Les Schwab and I encourage EVERYONE to do two things... 1) AVOID the criminal enterprise which is Pep Boys, and Hernan C! 2) Take your vehicle to Les Schwab as they are friendly, reliable, reasonable, and honest! P.S. I am including 4 pictures... the first two are from the Pep Boys criminal enterprise, and the second two are from the honest and reliable folks at Les Schwab!! I left my car there for 3 hours (even after closing time) for them to just end up airing up my tire. They tell me my wheel is bent and I need a new one but did not offer to replace it. They didn't even tell me if they did or didn't have my type of wheel, I had to find out they didn't replace it by checking the printed report/notes after I already left. The front desk lady made it sound like it was replaced and was quickly finishing our conversation so they could close. Ridiculous and disappointing. Very inconvenient and now I have to go find another place to fix my wheel before I go back to work. read more

I had an EXCELLENT experience with Les Schwab Tire Center's Manager Bob today. He greeted me right away and said he could help me even though they were nearly closed for the day. I needed a slow leak fixed and some reprogramming of my tire pressure sensors, and he kindly took care of me right away! During the visit my remote key fob battery died and delayed him and other employees from leaving for the day. One employee even drove over to the auto parts store to grab a battery for my key fob. This BS place had our truck from 8AM -5PM DID NOTHING just for me to have to call them (because they were closing) to find out why I hadn't heard anything about my vehicle, for them to tell me that they didn't do anything. And made up some BS that the truck needed work done before it could get an alignment. (We had the truck checked and there's nothing wrong with it) I highly DO NOT recommend this shop. We got flat tire due to a screw when we were at Yosemite. None of the service stations wanted to fix it as it was too close to the edge. Moreover the tire was not in stock to buy.
