I have been to this Les Schwab Tire Center in Oak Harbor a number of times with my Grandma when staying with her. Sometimes for something small, such as getting some air in the tires, and sometimes for a more pricey item such as a set of new tires. The workers have been friendly in their interactions and not abrupt. Simple tire pressure checks have been free of charge and do require interactions with workers. Prices have been fair. read more

I brought my brand new Subaru WRX TR into Les Schwab for a set of Vredestein Wintrac Pros in 245/35R19. They had to order in the tires in my size, they arrived within days and they got my installation scheduled quickly. Tyler was the installation technician and he was great, I admit that I was hovering and watching the entire time because I've had terrible experiences at other Les Schwab locations (Helena, Montana) and this was a new car, but Tyler was awesome. He was quick, yet thorough, and did not act annoyed even though he knew I was watching him. He took the time to talk about the tires with me and made me feel great about the purchase. Les Schwab - Absolutely Superb Brake Service - The Best! After taking my Ram 2500 to the Dodge Dealer (Oak Harbor Motors) for an odd brake pulsation issue, they told me that all of my new brakes were bad, then they charged me $104 without even troubleshooting the issue, after 30+ years, they ripped me off and left me hanging. So I tried Les Schwab, after all they are great with my tires, Les Schwab diagnosed the issue to poorly machined new brake drums, then they properly machined them and adjusted my brakes for only $82. That included free inspections of my suspension and front brakes. Les Schwab displayed superb troubleshooting and professionalism, putting me safely back on the road. I came in for a warranty alignment due to my tires being new from LSTC. I was informed that the previous shop had forgotten, oh well, mistakes happen sometimes. They offered to cover it for free due to the mistake! And they've put it under warranty in case it ever happens again! So...I brought my vehicle in for a funny noise coming from one of the wheels. They troubleshot it down to a wheel bearing which seemed reasonable. We had to wait a few days for an opening and they got it changed plus did an alignment within a few hours of dropping off. My wife and I took the vehicle camping a few days later and noticed the original sound was still present and now the alignment was completely off pulling hard to the right. We called about the problem and they got us in immediately which I appreciate. A second technician said it was most likely a differential bearing which they do not fix, that was it. $425 dollars later we have our original problem plus now our alignment sucks. Thanks Les Schwab. Weird clicking/rubbing/something on my Miata when turning wheels. 2-3 guys spent over an hour diagnosing (a very much appreciated effort!), found that the splash plate was loosened by the oil change place I went to. Fixed quickly, and they wouldn't even charge me anything! Very nice people all around, didn't give up on the weird thing until they found it. They are amazing. Went above and beyond to help me. I was going to be left driving on a spare tire, only good for a few miles. I explained to them I couldn't afford to purchase a whole new set of wheels and this was my only vehicle that I need to drive for work. They went way beyond the minimum to help me, even attempting to repair the wheel entirely. When that didn't work, they instead found a full size tire in the back from a different vehicle that fit and got me back on the road! They were kind, extremely helpful and professional. There's nothing like starting your car and seeing your TPMS light pop up. So I get out of my car and go check my tires to see what the problem is and yup, there's a damn nail in my front tire...f my life! Already knowing I'm going to have to replace my 2 front tires, I'm internally crying about how much this is going to cost me. We've been to a Les Schwab store before in Federal Way, WA and had great service, so we decided to go to the center nearby our place here in Oak Harbor. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, Dustin came out of the store to greet us at our car and assist us on what services we required. My husband showed Dustin the tire with the nail in it and said we were there to purchase new tires. After Dustin analyzed the tire, he quickly said, "you don't need new tires. We can patch that right up for you." Feeling relieved that patching it up would be a lot cheaper than buying new tires, he had us go inside to wait as he took the tire into the shop to repair it. When he was done, he greeted us back at the counter and told us it was all patched up, the tire was already placed in the back of my husband's truck and there's no fee for the services provided. Whaaaaat?! Talk about amazing service! Everything from beginning to end was flawless. Dustin was prompt, friendly and quick! We couldn't have asked for a better man to do the job! read more

Went there after work to get a slow leak in my right front tire fixed. Went to the front counter and checked in. Only about 20 minutes past before they came and got me. Very quick! We were on our maiden voyage with our Forest River NoBo travel trailer. The dealer had installed our sway bars so tightly that my husband could not force them on. Our local Les Schwab in Port Townsend, WA has always been very helpful in other situations, so we decided to give the Les Schwab in Oak Harbor, WA a try. Just as we had hoped, two mechanics there were extremely helpful. They had the right tools to readjust our sway bars and where very kind gentlemen. We were not charged anything and we were so appreciative to get control of our truck and trailer again. Only complaint is that they don't to price matching, or they didn't for me, and I would have been better off ordering the tires I bought from the place I normally by them from because the price would have been about even with the shipping, yes they charged me shipping here, and I would have gotten free Road Hazard from the other place. Check you prices and other benefits online at places like tired rack first, then come in. Half the time you are better off ordering your tires online and having them install and the other half of the time you break even. Just depends, but worth looking around. read more

Pleasantly surprised by my trip to le shwab. Having just moved across the country, I didn't know where to take my car, and I was having trouble with my newly installed brakes. The associate who took my car told me it would be about an hour before they could look at the car, it was less than that when they handed me back the keys. Even though their company was not at fault with the brakes (I had them done in a different state) the le shwab mechanics inspected my car for free and even fixed a tire pressure monitor I'd been avoiding replacing in less time than estimated to even put my car in the garage. When the associate giving my keys back didn't know exactly what had been done on my car, he personally went and asked the mechanic to come explain it to me. The mechanic explained the issue in plain, concise English. Long story short, we will be going back to this location. read more

Made the plunge on a big tire purchase in June. Four months later, no issues with excellent drivability. Some have said Schwab might be overpricing their products and implying a decline in service. Having revisited this location many times, I don't believe that's the case at all. Excellent service every time from the manager down. If you want your paint scuffed and chipped and to be treated like crap after, drop your car off at Oak Harbor,WA Les Schwab. 3 times they worked on my vehicles and every time there's a section I have to compound and polish after picking up. Today both rear fenders are scuffed and a nice chip in the passenger side to start our day and brought to their attention only to be belittled and told no way, no how and fill a form out. I noticed both rear fenders are wet in weird spots on my fresh detailed car when backing it in to hand me the key. I look around and not a puddle anywhere. The sun is out bright and beautiful and I thought "that's weird spots to be wet like that". She handed me the keys and I tossed the kid in. I drove across the street to Haggens and noticed why the car was wet in those weird spots. Went back to show them the damage and the manager immediately got defensive and aggressive. My active duty wife got orders to Germany so our family is moving soon, I say that to say this. Yesterday evening the car was detailed and looked at to be bought and those obvious large spots was not there and then went from my driveway to les schwab this morning. I went back to ask them be more careful cause this was the third time not to get anything. I want nothing but for them to slow down and handle peoples property a bit better. Dropped it off for a rotation and brake pads checked to have hundreds in damage done again. Never again and yes I have the time to do this today and enough is enough some times. I've been a Schwab customer for 10 years. I've had an account with them and purchased thousands of dollars of merchandise from them. I drive a lot for work and usually go through a set of tires per year. You hear the heroic stories they use to advertise their great customer service but let me tell you those must be extremely rare for this particular store. I was just entering oak harbor when my tire decided to give out. They had about 70k miles on them and I was expecting to replace them anyways. It had gone completely flat but luckily I was just 2 minutes from the store! I limped into the parking lot at 7:30 right as they were rolling up the doors so I figured I had found my saviors! Thank god, right? Nope. I spoke with a gentleman who was setting up for the day and I asked if there was any way he could help me out and he told me that they don't open for 30 minutes and he would help me then. Since I was in a hurry to get to my first customers house on time I said that was fine, I would just put my spare on until later. He then proceeded to tell me that "he would have to ask me to do that off the property." So at that point I drove my truck, while pulling my work trailer, on a completely flat tire around to find an empty parking lot to change my own tire. So instead of making a sale and taking care of a loyal customer and living up to self proclaimed "great customer service." They lost a customer. read more

This was my first visit to Les Schwab tire Center, and I was very impressed. I went in for a brake check, as I thought I had heard some squeaking. They did a thorough check of the front and rear brakes, tires, alignment, front end, and shocks. Everything checked out good! Total cost for my visit $0! The waiting area was clean with ample chairs and even tables. It did smell like new tires, but that's what I would expect in a tire store. They got me in and out in less than 30 minutes. I went to less Schwab here in oak Harbor 2 days ago. They took a look at my van and told me that I needed almost $400 in parts and labor. My husband ordered all the parts and told me he could do it himself. After examination..he noticed that the nuts that hold on the.tire were not tightened at all. Also he examined what we were told was needed to be replaced..(calaper) only to find out there was absolutely nothing wrong with the one that was on out van. Not broken, nothing was sticking, no damage whatsoever. This was a part they said was "needing to be replaced". The part was not needed and I returned it and got our money back!. After I returned the unused parts..it was a total of $35 dollars in brake pads from autozone. Not only were we lied to. They were trying to rip us off for $350 dollars and we almost lost our tire off our vehicle while driving home from their oak Harbor shop. God forbid we were to go on the highway at 60 mph and wreck due to our tire not being properly put back on our van with our 6 children in the car. read more

My service technician (I believe his name was Gary), was really polite, helpful and very knowledgeable. I took my car in in late February because it was making noise when I braked and turned. The guy was so convinced he knew what the problem was that he didn't even do an inspection. He quoted me for a job to fix it at 1000 for a leak in my power steering but said it wasn't super bad and it could wait. By early April the noise was so bad I took it in again. By this time I was grinding metal on metal with my brakes. They charged me full price to replace parts that wouldn't have needed replacing if they did the inspection right the first time. I later found out nothing is wrong with my power steering. I even found out the guy that looked at my car the first time was the store manager. I ended up calling into their cooperate office because I was so angry that this happened and put me in a very unsafe situation. Because i called Les Schwab refunded me the price of part of the brakes but the manger never took responsibility and basically said IF this event took place like I said he would give me the money back. All paperwork proved that's what happened. I won't let him touch my car ever again but I love les Schwab. I love their service, their product guarantee, and their ability to keep promises they make. This bad experience will not stop me from going to les Schwab but I highly recommend you watch who you let touch your car their. Les Schwab is a great company with great values. Unfortunately sometimes their managers don't live up to those values. read more

Well, learned this the hard way, but the Les Schwab warranty on tires is only honored at Les Schwab, and they are only in limited areas. Had one tire blow out and another has the metal belts showing through, with more than 15000 miles left on the warranty, but since there is no Les Schwab anywhere near where I moved in North Carolina, the warranty is completely worthless to me. Was hoping they might have partnered up with some other tire dealer that would honor their warranty out of their area, but no such luck. Would recommend you buy your tires from somewhere that has locations all over the country. read more

Had two very poor experiences here. First one was bringing my car to get a brake check, apparently The front rotors, calipers, and brake pads were bad on both sides and they gave me a ridiculous quote for that. They also found one of my tires really worn out so I bought one brand new tire. Couple weeks later when I found out all I needed was brake pads I took my vehicle back there so I can replace the rest of my tires to match the new one I got. They then bring me the news that the new tire that I had was not the correct size and they tried to charge me for their mistake. When I told them I was going to take my business elsewhere the person I spoke to got really upset and gave me the worst customer service. When I get my keys back to my car I go to my car, do a walk around and notice my car has a flat. It was so flat the rim was on the ground. I would recommend you take your vehicle elsewhere. This les Schwab location is untrustworthy and disrespectful. read more
