I've been a Les Schwab customer before and always thought highly of their customer service, which is why this experience was disappointing. I brought my Tesla in for four new tires. When I picked the car up, it was still showing a flat tire warning. I was told this was normal and would reset after driving. Shortly afterward, I ended up stranded with a failed rear tire, needed a tow, missed work, and incurred additional expenses. What bothered me most was the response afterward. Their denial letter states the tire failure was caused by an "external road hazard" and essentially concludes the issue had nothing to do with the service visit -- despite the fact that the vehicle was released to me while actively displaying the same tire warning. I understand companies need to investigate claims fairly. But from a customer perspective, it's difficult to understand how a vehicle can leave the shop with an unresolved tire warning and then suffer a major tire failure almost immediately afterward, yet the customer is treated as though they are attempting to scam the company. I'm not looking for a windfall. I simply expected accountability and reasonable treatment after a stressful roadside situation. read more

I needed to fine a new place since America's Tires do not service tire alignment. I did some research and decided to give Les Schwab a try. Booking an appointment online was really simple. I booked 8am on a Saturday morning for alignment, balance, & rotation. Inside of the store was very huge with many tables and chairs if you want to wait. They also have TV, popcorn, coffee. and snack machine which made you feel like you are in a dealership (without the offices). The gentleman told me they will charge the alignment, but not the balance & rotation which is great since I do not need to go America's Tires. The service wil take up to 90-120 mins so I decided to wait in the store. So it took about 90 minutes to finish and every staff was very professional and friendly. Went for a wheel alignment on my 2018 MB Diesel Sprinter. After waiting about an hour, the service advisor said there was excessive play in the tie rods, so they could not get it aligned. He said they would fix that for about $900, but that I also should replace the rack/pinion for about $2,000 because it was leaking hydraulic fluid. I paid them $40 to scan it and tell me how far out the alignment was (it was indeed out of spec). I asked them to show me the play in the tie rods, thinking I might have to bite the bullet on the tie rods because I am about to take a long trip. I could not find any play whatsoever, told them so, and they doubled down, refused to even adjust the camber as I requested. So I declined the service. My son, a mechanic at a Subaru dealer in Sacramento and inspected the tie rods together, could not find any fault. The power steering fluid reservoir hadn't lost any liquid. I took the Sprinter to the MB dealer, and they inspected it, aligned it. No mention of any problem with the tie rods or the steering rack & pinion. A less wary customer would have been out nearly $3,000. I see two ways to interpret these events: rank incompetence or an attempt at generating un-needed work. I brought my car in on Thursday to have two new tires mounted as well as an alignment. The new tires were in the trunk of my car. When I got home, I noticed scratches all along the bumper where the tires had been carelessly scraped against it. The plastic straps of the new tires tore through the vinyl wrap of my bumper, so I'll have to pay to have it re-wrapped. The paint beneath it might even be damaged. When I called to let them know, I was told that the manager Jacob would reach out to me but he never did so I had to call him today. Jacob was incredibly rude. Jacob refused to let me speak, talked over me, and denied any fault without listening to my feedback. There was no apology from Jacob. He stated that damage like this was impossible from tires and did not even ask for me to stop by so he could see it in person. My family and I will never return to any Les Schwab based on the poor service and negative attitude towards me by the manager Jacob. read more

I got a great deal on a Mercedes Sprinter. I am not in the tax bracket required to maintain a Mercedes! I am thankful when shops other than Mercedes are able to look to look out for my vehicle! VICTORIA was very professional and fast making my appointment. I called her again to tell her I was running a few minutes late. JULIE checked me in. Very sweet and professional. She told me I was the next vehicle up, one ahead of me in the shop. I went out to my van to straighten it up. I didn't get a chance to RON was at my car with my keys in less than three minutes!! I talked to RON about my concerns with the west pattern of my last tires, and my concerns with an upcoming trip and my suspension. RON took the time to explain the shocks and struts. At no time did he "mansplain" or talk down to me. He used simple terms. He told me they could replace my suspension but parts would need to be ordered. van was promised in 45 minutes. My call came in eleven minutes early. I left with a better understanding of my tires, alignment and suspension. I am going to post on Yelp but also wanted to make sure you were aware. The shop is very clean. The showroom is well stocked. Nice waiting room. Most importantly, it is directly across the street from Starbucks. Win. read more

We had our 2020 Subaru, serviced and tire rotation at Les Schwab in Oakley. The price was higher than I expected. But that's okay. After 5,000 miles, I decided to give another shop a try. And the same service that Schwab did. When they tried to rotate my tires. The studs were much too tight. And they informed me that they could not rotate my tires, because they would break the studs. I asked them to order the parts, that were needed. I brought my vehicle back to them after getting the parts that were needed. And sure enough. Two studs were broken, by trying to rotate my tires. They replaced the parts and rotated my tire, free of charge. We will not return to Les Schwab, again. And we now have another facility that we trust. SorryLes Schwab. But I feel that you may have people that work there, probably need more training. And it has cost you this time. read more

I brought my truck in 1/14/26 to have tires rotated and get two new lug nuts because Costco said I two were stripped and my car was unsafe to drive. He also put white chock on my seized studs identifying them. Les Schwab got my truck done in a timely manner with professionalism said my lug nuts were fine they had no issues. These people are friendly and helpful. On my last visit to have my tires checked, Jose was the young man that did it. I am a retired high school counselor, and I was so impressed with such a polite and helpful young man. I dropped off my tire with a nail in it around noon yesterday and was told the wait would be about three hours. I waited until they were closed with no call, no update, nothing. Then I find out they're closed today with zero warning. Not even a quick heads-up that it wouldn't be ready or that I'd have to wait another day. I've been stuck driving on a donut since the 4th, which is a serious safety risk, and they couldn't be bothered to pick up the phone or send a message. I'm still new here so to see a tire Schwab less than a mile in passing was clutch! Realized I had a flat tire early in the am, had a good friend/neighbor help me out on my spare tire and advised me to go to Les Schwab! Always thought it was such a bougie tire shop but it's nothing less of your usual friendly neighborhood tire repair shop. Called in around 9am, told the person over the phone what happened and he told me to just come in as they don't so "same-day appts." Which wasn't too bad at all cause he said I'd wait about 1 1/2 but I felt like I was there for a good 30-45 minutes? So much space away from the shop, the tires, and lots of seating with tables! So beneficial if you work remote and you want to bring your laptop. Place was very clean, popcorn, and warm coffee (pls provide creamer for the non black coffee drinkers heh), tv played loud and clear. Loved how there was circle tables and bar tables with plugs!!! I actually got checked in with the manager himself, he was very welcoming and easy to talk to! I then was talked to maybe by Tyler? Another good SA with quality advice and helpful gestures. Very patient and allowed me to figure out what I needed to do, no rush and no pressure. I came in thinking I'd just get a tire patched but ended up needing all new 4 tires. Rough! They did the break down with me and it was very beneficial. Def hope I can come in and work them, all very good people in here. Everyone seems to be very helpful and not trying to rush you like a salesman. I dropped off my 1957 wagon to get the tires balanced at 11;30, I was told it would be a couple of hours because it was around lunch time. At 4:00 I realized I hadn't got a call, so I called, and I was told that I need new tires they didn't want me to spend the money for nothing. I told them to just balance the rear tires only. at 5:15 I went to the shop they told me that nothing has been done to my car and they didn't think they had time to balance them for me. I asked for my keys, and they had the nerve to give me an estimate for new tires. read more

Didn't appreciate that. I made an appointment for a specific time and they didn't take my car until 45 minutes later for an alignment. They do the alignment but it's not complete. There are some issues they don't tell me there's some issues so they proceed to say they did an alignment, but they're still stump out, but they don't tell me about it and when I get the report, they don't explain it. I see it different from the year before the reason why I brought it in is because my daughter hit a curb OK and they go on to say well to be truthful. The car look like it was in an accident. Yeah it hit a curb. But they don't say nothing then they say the car is ready and I have to look at it so very unprofessional. I'm not bringing my car to this one or maybe any Les Schwab $434 he could've gave me the option look you might need more work so if you want us to do the alignment, we'll do what we can but you're gonna have to take it in to have the castor done from a shop that can do it. Please share to spread the word. I am warning as many people as I can - do NOT take your vehicle to Les Schwab Tires in Oakley, CA. In April 2023, we had a rear brake job done on the truck. In July 2023, we did the front brakes. All was fine until March 2024 when the brakes started to squeak again. At this point, we only had 7,000 miles on our truck since the July 2023 brake job - good news - our brakes were under warranty and replaced for "unusual wear". Exactly one month later, 4/18/2024, the brakes started to squeak again. Because we we're still within the 50k mile warranty, we took our truck back. Les Schwab took a look at our truck, and sure enough, we had unusual wear again. Fast forward to Monday night, 4/29/2024, we start to smell burning rubber and more squeaking. We were able to make it home, but decided to take our truck to the dealership, Winter Chevrolet. Winter printed this report for us. Not only did Les Schwab install the brakes incorrectly, they also used the wrong parts (parts that were not meant for a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado) - they used the wrong size rotors, missed screws that were supposed to be installed, and used parts with no tracable serial number. Because of the negligence of Les Schwab, we were without a truck for 3 days and we spent $3800 to rectify the damage. Yes, I have sought legal advice, and yes, I am filing a suit in small claims court for monetary damages at the advice of the lawyer. Les Schwab is refusing to pay the cost to Winter Chevrolet for the damages they caused, and they refuse to refund our money for the two initial brake jobs done in April and July 2023. Jesse at Les Schwab also accused Winter Chevrolet of falsifying the report that they gave us and they claim there is nothing wrong with our truck. The problem has been resolved but this has cost us over $5,000. Please do not trust Les Schwab with your vehicle or your lives. read more

Just waited two hours, even with an appt, to have had nothing done. They finally said they'd keep it over night and replace my tires in the morning to order me tires, but had me wait to put the order in and after waiting another 30 mins and being told my order wasn't put in yet, I finally told them I'm leaving only to be told I didn't need to wait and could have left without paying until the service was done the next day. They were unable to resolve when I took it back in but they did honor their warranty, and more. I needed new tires and they got me in same week. Finished the job in about an hour. The main reason for this review is because they gained a life long customer with their customer service. Long story short.. I was recently told during an oil change that I needed new breaks. So when at les Schwab, I told the guy on the phone that I need tires and maybe breaks. I told him I was told I needed new breaks but it didn't feel like it when I was driving the car. I received a phone call back from them telling me by breaks should be fine for a few more months. Right there I was sold with this place. Most places would have lied and told me my breaks needed to be repaired asap. Because of this, I'll bring my car back for breaks when needed and I'll bring my other cars there for new tires as well. Honestly goes far in my book, thanks. read more

I watched the person working on my vehicle stop to attend to an Amazon vehicle, THEN came back to work on my vehicle even though my vehicle was clearly in first. They incorrectly rotated my directional tires, when leaving (driving away) instead of pulling slightly to left, which was the reason for an alignment in the first place, it pulls so hard to the right im fighting it. One of my recently purchased tires blew out while still fresh under warranty, but the lady at the desk at this location said I still needed to buy a replacement tire for the one that popped along with another new tire for the traction to match. Luckily the Fremont location still honors warranties and was able to get it done in a shorter amount of time than the Oakley location would've needed despite being busier! they were able to match up a tire that would have fit without needing to get a second new tire, free of charge (under warranty) If you're considering going to a Les Schwab I would avoid this location and drive all the way to the Fremont one. read more

No problems here for me! I came here for two reasons. 1. I was referred and 2. They have credit. I was in dire need of tires. I just spent money on things I needed for a brake job including labor and could not afford to drop 6 hunnid on new tires. My mechanic told me about this place and told me to ask for Claudia. I came here and she wasn't here but her daughter was. I filled out the credit app and was approved for $1500. Cool! She bought me back two different tires with two different quotes and let me pick which one best fits my needs and also explained the warranty ect. Boom! Tires on I'm out and rollin 3 pm. Made one stop before I got home to Auto Zone, then hit the house and parked, 3:30. My mechanic had to come back to bled one of my brakes. He got there at 6 pm and was about to do his thang when I saw THE BIGGEST NAIL EVVVVVER in my new tires that weren't even 3 hours old! I called back to Les but of course they were closed and I was told to bring the car in in the morning. Welp there went my Friday night! Got here at 8:01 am and they're already full. My appointment was at 12:00p.m and after calling several times through out the day i never received a call back to pick it up. They parked it out side and not in the shop and at 3:00 a.m somebody stole it and two days later was found by the police. The car is no longer running and LES SCHWAB REFUSES TO TAKE FULL LIABILITY. Once upon a time there was a handsome 30 something gentleman driving an un-godly route to work when he thought he heard children laughing when applying his breaks. He knew for a fact he didn't have a possessed car so it must've been the breaks. Another, harder application of the breaks (due to idiotic drivers on 680) sealed the deal when the cheerful children went from laughter to a deep grumble. Time to call the exorcist uhh break specialist. Heard a lot of great things about Les Schwab and knew they were used countless times by my grandpa in Idaho. Thought i'd give them a try. Arrived at the store ten minutes prior to opening and the doors opened to get us all checked in, sweet! The check in process wasn't bad at all, the attendant was nice, quick and explained everything they do before replacing the breaks. I mosey'd on over to the customer lounge which is T&A by the way with it's comfy leather chairs, free coffee, free popcorn & various vending machines. The first part of my service was cake, the inspection. I'd say that I waited about 30 minutes before given the "skinny". Well the "skinny" was more like Agustus Gloop from 'Charlie & The Chocolate Factory'. First off they came back letting me know what I already knew, the front breaks needed a full replacement. They also noted that all four of my tires needed replacing oh and that I had moisture on my shocks, hmm. They did show me everything up close and personal before getting my endorsement on the breaks at least. The tires were so exorbitantly priced that I decided to take my car to Costco for the job at least half off of what they were asking. So this is where everything went downhill...I signed off on the job to be done on the breaks and told I'd likely be out in an hours time. They never once mentioned to me that they didn't have my rotors in stock but had to get them ordered from their supplier. Said supplier was supposed to bring it quickly but quickly turned into an hour long wait. The hold-up? They delivered them to the wrong store and had to scramble to get them to the right store. All while this is happening the comfy leather chairs turned to stone, a headache was brewing from my decline in blood sugar and NASCAR on the tv was driving me to my wits end very fast (no pun intended). After voicing my concerns about the total wait for a front end brake job the manager went into action making sure that once the parts arrived that I didn't wait longer than 20 minutes. Thankfully he at least kept this promise and I was out of there with many apologies following my exit. I'm on the fence whether I'd give them another chance. Breaks? Maybe. Tires? Hell no! read more
