Came in for my scheduled appointment today, December 10th to get new rear brakes. I believe it was Jose that worked on my car and Kyle was at the front desk. I am so glad I didn't need rotars as well! The employees are friendly and professional! They kept under the original bid and were done within 2 hours. ( BTW..their estimate was less than 2 others I got from different outfits not affiliated with Les Schwab) The place is expansive in Oroville and very clean! I also buy my tires through Les Schwab. I showed up to get new tires for my F150 on a Friday without an appointment (my bad). We were leaving town that evening for a weekend trip. Even with the short notice, they got me fixed up by the time I needed to leave for my trip. Jordann even had to drive to another store to get the fourth tire they needed to complete the set. They found my front brakes needed to be done while they had it apart, they were able to work that into the job and still made it by my deadline. A friend and I came up from the Bay Area to fish with a local guide and just before we got on the river found a HUGE nail in my car tire. There was nothing we could do, at tat point, till the end of the day. We were hoping to be on the road by 6pm that evening, but seeing the nail made us very concerned as to whether we would make it even to a motel that night. We found our way to Les Schwab around 5:15 pm:- 45 minutes to closing!! I was also really worried no one would want to help us as it was so late in the day. Today I had one star service, and may I suggest that they watch a video or better yet read the book, "Give 'em the Pickle" by Mr. Farrell. It is about providing outstanding customer service (including keeping your customers). I am giving the 2nd star for the nice worker bees that work on your vehicle. We have several vehicles with tires purchased from this location. My big truck had a nail in a tire and my other half called this am to see about coming in. The guy on the phone told him to come on down and they would fix it. So an hour later I made it down into town. When I got there the gal behind the counter was busy on the phone for about 10 minutes. She then got off the phone, I told her we had called about coming in this morning. She told me that it would be 3 hours before they could look at it. Really? And no I am not able to leave it for 3 hours. I went outside and went back in. A new guy was at the counter and told him what happened. He told me they don't take appointments unless made 24 hours in advance. He then told me I can come back at 2:00 and they would look at it by 2:15. So I drove home about 15 miles with the nail in my tire and made it back at 1:55. Once again on the phone and waited patiently. I told her I have an appt at 2:00 for the nail in my tire. Tick tock, tick tock, as I am waiting outside. It is after 2:15, still waiting, and then I hear a call for an appt. at 2:30. My truck still not has been seen. I walk back inside and ask what is going on, and why an appt. 30 minutes past the time I arrived for mine does not have precedence over a later appt? Her reply was that the 2:30 was a "Paying" customer. WOW! Really? Paying customer? Really? Now we are treated differently "AFTER" we have purchased tires from your business? Tires are not cheap! Especially for 3/4 ton trucks! This all could of easily been avoided if there was proper customer service training. If you know you are busy, and please do not tell someone to come down to only have to wait 3 hours! Give your customer options. Take a moment and ask your customer if they can drop it off for an extended amount of time or give them an option to bring it in at a specific time where they can wait for that 15 minutes or whatever it takes for them to stand behind a warranty/service. Oh yes, please acknowledge customers when they walk in. At least if on the phone glimpse at them, nod and acknowledge. Maybe put the 2nd or 3rd incoming call on hold while you acknowledge or better yet assist. I was fortunate the old company I worked for was all about customer service. They invested 3 days about 1-2xs a yr for company retreats which was focused on customer service. One of my favorite presentations was the Pickle Principle. May I suggest that Les Schwab management watch "Give 'em the Pickle" and apply that mindset for their customers. Being called a "non paying customer" was a complete insult. I may not pay today, but with that insult you may of lost the sale of your next set of 1200 bucks of tires tomorrow and the following years to come... read more

I tried to give this place one more try and it didn't work out. The first time I went there it was for a tire repair, had a nail and it took about an hour and a half, with only 2 customers there but they did apologize and didn't charge me so everything was fine. They told me next time to make an appointment. Recently I brought in four 13-in tires that needed to be mounted on rims I had in the back of my truck, the girl at the counter gave me a price of $178 to mount the tires, when I questioned why so much she said we have to put new valve stems in also.... I told her that the price to mount was more than the tires but I needed to get it done so I did. Next time I'll just make the drive down to Chico to America's Tire where I normally go. I have always had decent customer service here and reliable service. Just recently I went to get a quote for tires and was shocked. $800 for mid grade tires. (They usually quote us 3 options low, mid, high grade). I almost died! How do poor people buy tires for their cars? Needless to say we left, and went to chico where we have a store membership and only paid $600 for the same grade tire. If you can afford their tires. I ran over a small piece of metal with my brand new tire. I took it over to Les Schwab to buy a new one. They inspected it and let me know that the tire could be repaired. I asked how much it would cost to be repaired and they told me "free". I was so relieved and thankful. I thought I was going to have to buy a new tire and I ended up getting it repaired for free. Went to Les Schwab asking about a tire for my UTV (Polaris razor 1000). The Girl behind the counter says (1) we don't sell those here; we would have to orderit. (2) In order to find a price, shed have to look it up in the book, make a phone call, etc... (3) She referred me to another business in town to help me. So, 1) in less 5minutes, Les Schwab proves that they can't/won't help, don't have time to waste on helping me for an ultimate end result of them making money, and 2) lost a customer forever! I brought a fairly new tire in that had a good size screw embedded in but still held full air pressure. The "Boys" at the first place I took it to who did a good job plugging another spiked tire for me in the past, said they didn't have the correct tools to repair this tire. Really? Go figure. They suggested trying Les Schwab. Well, a point for them for that suggestion! The staff at Les Schwab immediately took my tire and said they could have it repaired in 20 to 30 minutes if I wanted to wait. After less than 20 minutes, they came back and said they had finished and were in the process of cleaning it for me. As I was preparing to pay, they told me the service was complimentary in exchange for considering them for any future needs! Mind you, this was not a tire I bought from them previously nor had I ever even been to this or any Les Schwab in the past. They didn't even ask for my name! Wow! they not only cleaned the wheel and tire, they placed it in a large plastic bag and put it in the back of the car for me. If I can I wouldn't even give this place a 1 star rating. My reasons why? I needed a wheel alignment. Looked up this place and it has decent ratings. So I thought I'd check it out. When I first arrive there an employee came out and greeted me. Asked for the reason why I'm there etc. Everything was going good. After 30 mins of waiting a mechanic came out and told me they CAN'T do a wheel alignment for me because the front left tie rod is showing a lot of movement and they CAN'T proceed with the process unless I replace it. Just to do the alignment itself would be around $86 but if I was to do the tie rod plus buy the part and service altogether total would be $310. And so I thought hmmm that's funny I never notice anything wrong with my car. If there's something I would know. I'm not a professional but I do do my own maintenance. So I walked out of that place and first thing I did when I got home was take off my wheel and look at the tie rod. Tested to see if there was anything wrong with it and it was perfectly fine. So a few days after that I called Les Schwab again but this time it's the one in CHICO not OROVILLE. Went in and an hour later my wheel alignment was all done! They even hooked me up with a 30 day warranty. I was shocked! So I asked Leanne (the salesperson) "That was it?" She replied "Yep!" ........and overall total was $56. They didn't have to change my tie rod for a wheel alignment. To me honesty play a VERY big role in who I do business with, and I'm definitely not doing it with Les Schwab Oroville ever again. It's not even about the money but the people there. You can't expect to grow within your community if you keep losing the people's trust. read more

I'm having a hard time finding the words for how grateful I am for this Les Schwab. The day of the camp fire broke out I was trying to get home to Magalia and one of my tires was going flat. I whipped into the parking lot and told them my situation. I think the jack was under my truck as I walked through the door. While inside, I was on the phone to my wife and she was trapped in traffic with burning buildings on both sides of her and embers blowing across her hood. The call dropped and I thought she was gone (she made it out ok). They told me my truck was almost done and to get in it and when they pull the jack out to leave. We have been buying our tires from Les Schwab for years. That may not happen again after today's experience. My husband had to re-inflate my rear tire before he took my car in to get four new tires. He told them about the leak and the problem he had and they assured him they would watch for it and if he would just wait for two hours if it needed to they would re-inflate it again before they brought it into the bay to replace the tires. He picked out the tires we need paid for them and sat down inside to wait. Two hours later the rear tire was flat again. He saw one of the attendants start to back it up and drive it without re-inflating the tire.. The guy scratched the rim. My husband stopped him and said you're not supposed to do that and the guy told him they do that all the time, completely contradicting the manager who had told him I didn't do that. We've had good treatment in the past from Les Schwab but the way they tried to cover it up after the occurrence and the way it was handled have left us with a bad taste in your mouth and questioning whether we will ever use this Les Schwab again read more

I've been having to air up my tire every few days for the past month. I didn't know if it could be repaired or had to be replaced, so I took it here. Usually as a female you want to know exactly what's wrong so you don't get screwed over by a company fixing it in the most expensive way due to my ignorance. Anyways I made an appointment for 10am, showed up at 945, they were so busy and I thought omg this is gunna take forever. So me and my kids went to eat breakfast across the street. We got back at 1015 and my car was already done!!! And they didn't even charge me anything to repair it, there was a nail in it. Uhm thank you!!!!!! Anywhere else it would have been at least 25$. Visiting family for a few days, my tire went flat. I took the car in to Les Schwab and they helped me right away. The tire had developed a bubble and needed to be replaced. I had an appt today for an alignment that they told me would only take an hour to do they come out an HOUR AND A HALF later just to tell me that they DIDNT do the alignment because I needed new control arms $660 worth of parts. Took my Bronco in because it had a clanking when applying the brakes. They found a caliper bolt had fallen out and would not replace it, claiming it must be a factory defect for it to have fallen out. I called Ford and they indicated there was no such factory recall for anything like that. In talking to the manager he was cordial, but said they'd recently been sued and couldn't take the chance. They didn't want the liability of putting it back together and something going wrong if I drove it- so they put it back together and moved it out into their parking lot, and then put it on blocks.. disassembling the wheels & brakes again- I couldn't friggin believe it. I had to go down to the Ford shop and buy a caliper bolt becauseLes Schwab wouldn't sell me one, then reassemble my truck myself with borrowed tools to get it out of there. I'll never go to Les Schwab again. If I can't drive a vehicle in knowing I am able drive it out in the same, if not better condition that it was in when I drove it in, then that is absolutely ridiculous. They definately do NOT put the customer first at this location. read more
