After running errands today (Saturday) I walked out of the grocery store and a man in the parking lot pointed out that my tire was nearly flat. It was bad!! I needed help ASAP. Big O was nearby but closed but Goodyear was nearly 2 miles away and closing at 6pm. I walked in at 5:50pm and apologized for being "that person" that walks in right before closing but "I have a flat tire". The bay was closed but Tom said, we'll help you out and at least get your spare on for you. They didn't have the tire I need to replace it but they put on the spare and suggested I go to where I bought them to see if I had a warranty. No charge! They really bailed me out and got me on the road and didn't try to sell me on a bunch of tires I don't need. Highly recommend and I'll be back when I do need more! Thank you!! read more

Rainy Christmas Eve, my tire got a flat just off the 50 West; had my car towed to this Goodyear as it was nearby; the staff was friendly, professional and had me back on the road with a new set of tires installed in an hour and a half! It's too bad, always had good service on tires. So yesterday, my die hard battery purchased here, 2 years ago went dead. We called asked about their Sunday hours, nothing was said about needing an appointment in advance. Hell battery replacement takes 5 minutes,right?. So we had to jump start the car to get it up there. We left it running, it would not start again if turned off.They sent out the red headed noob to check the battery, He shut the car off. He tells my wife, it's Sunday and we need an appointment 2 days in advance for warranty battery service. I guess it's my fault for buying the diehard here, we were buying tires so at that time and that's why I did it. The 2 day battery replacement appointment is apparently required because they have no battery inventory. So here we are stranded. Mr. Noob cried because he had to get in his personal car to go up to NAPA to get a generic replacement for my diehard. And to top it off, some lame Katen is telling the service manager we should have to wait because we didn't have an appointment. I'm sorry, my fault for not knowing my battery would drop dead, or that some redheaded noob would shut the car off and strand us there. And I should have cut out the 'out of stock middleman' and just bought my battery at NAPa or O'Reilly. Apparently batteries at Goodyear are not a product they are prepared for. In the end the service manager made good, although; I was a bit taken aback by his answer. When I asked if I had purchased an AGM battery or the generic lead acid they replaced the diehard with. He didn't know what an AGM battery was?? In this case I did buy lead acid, it's and older car. SO, Stick to tires here, Buy batteries anywhere but here so you don't have to wait 2 days to start your car. Fire the kid. Or teach him about customer service. read more

hello I've worked in the Healthcare industry for over 40 years. I understand service, limits to service, problems with giving service, fixing and finding solutions to problems and making people happy. Everyone needs to understand that certain days bring different emotions and problems. this particular Goodyear was A+ in their customer service and performance. Their manager would not accept a tip on behalf of his staff or his problem solving efforts. They did a great job identifying issues to my car's problem, which wasn't just tires, or rims or standard things. They went out of their way to provide answers that were not simple. I think a major contributor to their attitude was my willingness to understand they were busy, and despite my need for my car, they were doing what they could control . They also were helped by my introspection of the problem, and my history and facts about my car's problem. Their work was spot on and I was so grateful , but was also surprised that Jeremy and Thomas wouldn't take any compensation for their work . The reason was, they wanted to be of help! This leadership and effort is 5 Star. More businesses need this kind of attitude. More people need to be kinder and more understanding of what service they should expect . Poor customer service...Took over an hour and a half to Mount and balance 4 tires . New spare wouldn't fit and they wouldn't give me back my old spare so now I have to ride around with my spare in the bed of my truck. They were supposed to do a free alignment check but told me they didn't have time even though I made an appointment for that service and showed up early/on time to appointment.Employees and manager were more worried about getting off in time than actually providing good service they practically pushed me out the door. I have been a car guy all my life, and have been restoring cars for more than 30 years. I have dealt with a ton of tire and suspension shops over the years. In fact, many, many years ago, I sold, mounted and balanced tires for a living. I have lived in Shingle Springs for the last 10 years, and sadly I have been going to this shop's competitor just down the street for my tire and alignment needs. I have always had a bad experience at the competitor, but I always forgot this shop was here. An encounter I had 2 days ago at the competitor ensured I will never again go there, so I set about finding a new shop, and I recalled this location existed. I went in this morning not knowing what to expect, but what I found was so much of a pleasant surprise, I had to share. I was greeted by polite and friendly employees who were happy to help. I needed an alignment and the price quoted was the same price I have paid in the past at that other shop. They took my wife's minivan into the shop and I grabbed a seat in the waiting room. After about 15 minutes, an employee came in with the current alignment spec printout. I knew the car had some camber problems, but what he told me blew me away. He pointed out that the right rear wheel could use a slight toe adjustment, but it was within specs. As I suspected, the camber was off, but according to the employee, Toyota did not include any way to adjust the camber. I quickly verified what he told me by doing some internet searching. He told me there were some aftermarket kits that would make it possible to adjust the camber, but they did not sell them. The internet also showed this to be true, and there were multiple kits available, but I will need to do some reading before I pick one. He continued by telling me that as it sat, I currently did not owe them a penny. If I chose to have him make that slight adjustment to the rear wheel, I would be charged the alignment price, but while not perfect, the rear tire was within factory tolerance and he suggested (and I concurred) that it was not out enough to worry about. So, not only were they quick, polite, and friendly, they were ridiculously honest and did not charge me a penny. I highly recommend this shop! read more

These guys are terrible, I was told to bring my 67 Corvette in to have the tires balanced at 3:30. When I got there an employee behind the counter told me they don't work on cars that old, he claims he called his boss and he instructed him not work on the car, that's after I drove up to the store with an appointment and then knowing full well the make and year of my car. The employee was rude condescending and didn't care one bit that I was unconvinced or that I was told they would balance my wheels. I would recommend Big O Tires in Cameron Park as an alternative to this run down facility with rude employees!! It also seems ridiculous that a national brand company doesn't have a MANAGER available at 3:30p on a work day and that inexperienced employees are forced to call a manager by phone for instructions on what they are allowed to do! I'm glad I didn't use them because as I look back on my horrible experience they seem inept. I think I lucked out! read more

I need to replace my 40 year old tires in my CJ5 and I was calling around for quotes and suggestions. When I called Goodyear, I had the good fortune to talk to Carson in Shingle Springs. He was everything you would want in a sales and customer service representative and much more. First, he was not in a hurry and listened carefully to what I needed. Next he carefully translated my old tire sizes to the up to date sizes. Finally, he made a good suggestion on some tires that were a bit more expensive than another quote I had but it was a higher quality tire. Never once did I feel I was being pressured or up sold. He ordered the tires and they were available the next day. I brought my vehicle in for the install and this was done in less than the estimated time and the attention of Carson to be sure everything was done right was exceptional. I went here in Jan of 2018 to have new brakes installed. Noticed no issues however around April of 2018 started hearing grinding when braking. I took the car back, they checked the brakes and said that they could hear no noise but when pressed I was told "well those are the types of brakes you have". Around Christmas Eve of 2018, December I begin to hear a clicking noise while driving and take it to a mechanic. He finds that the caliper isn't releasing which has ground the pad down to less than 2 mm and the rotors needed to be replaced. I took my car to the another Good Year in Sacramento who admitted that after review, it looks like this Good Year had used the wrong brake grease ? causing the caliper to not release. Thankfully the Good Year in Sacramento took ownership for the problems and admitted to what they found and used the warranty to cover most of the repairs and parts needed. When I shared my story with friends, all of them who had taken their vehicles to this shop had similar experiences and now take their cars to other local mechanics. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

I had them install control arms in the 2016 Subaru Forester. BIG MISTAKE. I left the shop and drove it home about 1 mile down the road. When I left my house later that day about an hour after, I had a squirrel run out in front of my vehicle causing me to slam on my brakes. All of a sudden a horrible noise emits from my car like gears grinding together or metal on metal. I was able to pull my vehicle to the side of the road and when I check my vehicle, my control arms had completely fallen off!! They had the audacity to ask if I could tow it back to the shop!!! I demanded they come and fix it immediately as I was unable to even operate my vehicle! Imagine if I had been driving on the freeway at a high speed! Thank God I was only going about 10 miles per hour! They offered nothing to compensate for the time, trouble and risk they caused! I was reluctant to have them fix it. Never come to this store. In effect, 2 days ago, I made an appointment online for service at the Shingle Springs location, scheduling the installation of 4 new Goodyear All Terrain tires, as well as an oil change. Fast forward to this morning, I was on time (9am), but these imbeciles did NOT have my tires. Per the Service Manager I spoke with, "Sorry, they're not here, we will have to schedule you for the 29th." I told him that was unsatisfactory. I drove approximately 25 miles to have these tires put on today, not 5 days from now. I asked him if he had comparable tires and he said, "We do not store any tires in the shop." WTF??? A tire store and they don't have any freakin' tires. More important, I asked him, "What are you going to do to make this right?" His response, "I can't do anything about this." I bought tires here a few years ago and take it in for a balance and rotation as recommended, everytime I leave the balance is worst than when I came in. So I hardly drive the vehicle. Recently, it took 2 hours with an appointment to get the tires balanced and rotated, and when I got it home I noticed they didn't even rotate the tires. I don't have hours and hours to have them fix the problem, so I will have to rotate the tires myself. The vehicle is nothing special, and the work I'm requesting isn't rocket science, I have come in various times over the last couple years, so I know it's not a particular tech. It must be poor managemant, and a lack of respect for the customer. I will never buy tires from them again and will actively advise others to avoid doing business with them. Also, there is little to do in the area and there wait room is sad and little, to sweeten the deal the TV is broken and the bathrooms are filthy. read more

I have used Goodyear off and on for the past 15 years. About 4 months ago I took in my 2003 Honda CRV for an oil change. They called to say it was ready and I came in and they quickly checked me out. When I got home I found all these suggestions on work that was needed to be done but no one ever mentioned it! They missed out on plenty of work as I would have told them to keep the car and do the work. I'm very disappointed that they didn't bother telling me what they found but just said the oil change was done. Maybe they wanted to avoid working? My truck tire was leaking air and I was at work. I called Goodyear and spoke with Josh. I told him that I would not be able to bring my truck in until my lunch hour. I asked if the repair could be done quickly understanding of course that hopefully it was just a simple leak. Josh explained that he would do the very best he could to get me in an out. I arrived at Goodyear at 1:10 and Josh immediately greeted me and grabbed my keys and got started. Everyone was pleasant as I waited. Plus there was a cute little dog that seems to be the shop hostess that kept me company as I waited. My tire was fixed within 30 minutes, a large nail was removed, and the guys did it all for no charge! Needless to say I am very happy with their work and understanding that I needed to get it done quickly. I made it back to work with time to spare so I was even able to grab a bite to eat. I have been using this place for years. Have had several of my vehicles service here between 2007 an 2017. They have always been fantastic, with great service, communication and pricing. Truly felt like a local business. However, over the past year they have gone downhill. Their new counter employees are TERRIBLE. In one instance I dropped off my F150 and explained that I would pick it up the next day. I knew it needed new brakes and explained that I was leaving the day thereafter on a long road trip and to please replace them. They called at the end of th next business day to let me know I needed new brakes. Idiots! Thereafter, I brought my GF 2016 explorer in. It had a slow leak and needed a flat repair. They again waited til the end of the day to tell me that there was a nail in the side of the tire and that we neede 4 new tires because it was all wheel drive but made no effort to order new tires or call me in time to give me time to get them elsewhere. I was able to go to Big O in El Dorado Hills and they fit us in at the end of the day because my toddler son rides in that car daily and the prospect of a blow out at rewear speeds was high. My F150 with new brakes has had to go back in twice for follow up because the brake pads they installed were faulty then they charged me full price for a new caliper. This weekend I took in my 2012 camaro for flat repair, balance and rotation of tires and an oil change. My kid brought it in and they were going to charge him for the rotation and balance. I called in and pointed out that I had just bought the tires and they did not charge my kid for the balance and rotation. Then after I was off the phone they told my kid they wouldn't rotate and balance the tires because they were staggered. However they have rotated them cross body several times over the past five years. This morning when I called in they said they could not rotate my tires because they were staggered. I pointed out again that they had been doing it for years. They reluctantly agree to do it - but it will take more time. So needless to say I will be picking up. My camaro this afternoon and NEVER GOING BACK!!!! I will also be writing a letter to the GM / Owner. read more
