The Piña Colada was light and tropical, with coconut and pineapple adding a fresh, summery twist. The Cinnamon had a warm, cozy spice--simple, comforting, and perfect with my after dinner coffee. S'mores was sweet and nostalgic, capturing chocolate, marshmallow, and graham cracker in a fun way. Overall, a great mix of classic and playful. As I said I'm a frosting fan and the frosting was great an my favorite part.

They were offering free milkshakes to the first 100 participants and we were lucky enough to score one of those gifts! We decided to just take one and share it and decided on the Frozen Hot Chocolate, which is made with Blue Bell chocolate ice cream, hot cocoa mix, chocolate sauce, marshmallow fluff and a "kosher" marshmallow. I'm just not a big sugar fiend so I found the shake to be extremely sweet and gooey...wife loved it! I didn't try the marshmallow but she said it was good and she could tell it was homemade. We decided we would try the store in Gilbert at some point this summer to see what other goodies they offer. Overall, a good treat and thank you for the free goodie! I have not actually been into Rise Up Bakery myself, so this review is based entirely on the delightful and delectable cookies I got to try. There was a sugar cookie, oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, M&M, and several others. I started by pinching off a little piece of one, then another, and then another. Before long I felt like such a little piggy because I had sampled nearly every cookie in the box. The problem was that every time I tried a new one, it was just as good, if not better, than the one before it. I kept thinking I had found my favorite, only to change my mind with the next bite. And these cookies were BIG hoggers too, probably around 6 inches across. These are not little dainty cookies you mindlessly nibble on. They have some size to them, and thankfully the flavor matches. So while I can't review the bakery itself, the atmosphere, or the service just yet, I can absolutely review the cookies. Based on those alone, Rise Up Bakery has definitely gotten my attention.
