My wife and I were trying to figure out what is the single best thing we have bought; in terms of…read moreusage, reliability, and cost, since we got married in 1994. The answer is our hot tub, so I am glad to write this review from a position of expertise. On November 3, 2012, we bought a Vista Hot Tub from Scarritt Spas and I thought it would be like an exercise bicycle...get used couple of times the first months and then everyone would gradually lose interest. The opposite has been the truth. I'll bet this tub has been used 150 days a year, every year, since it was installed, at a utility cost of pennies per day. I never thought I would use it...but it is wonderful for achy joints, sore muscles and for just rehabilitating after a hard day's work or a long bike ride. The kids use it almost every night when they are home from college or visiting. There is nothing better than hot-tubbing, with a hat on, during a snow storm. The colder the better. In the summer, the Vista has a low-power setting so the heater does not waste energy, and the kids turn the spa down to a more refreshing 85 degrees. We have had to have it serviced exactly one time, and that was when the heat pump was acting up and Scarritt came out and replaced it for free; two days after we called. In terms of maintenance; I have replaced the filters one time and I had to order a new cover after I inadvertently went all the way through it while pushing snow off. The chemicals are inexpensive; they do not even run $100.00/year. I thought I was going to have to be a chemist to keep the tub balanced but one of the greatest free services Scarritt provides is the ability to bring in a water sample and they print out a sheet of specific instructions of what to add to the tub. I don't have to do that often, it's usually a teaspoon here or a tablespoon there, but it gives me great peace of mind knowing it is well balanced. I can't wait for the grandchildren to be old enough to enjoy it, I am sure it will still be every bit as dependable at that point.

Ray came out and installed our pool and did a good job but when it came to following up on leaks and service it has been a nightmare. Robco opened our pool this year and didn't fix all the issues and it took 6 weeks of calling to get them to finally come (and some frustration on our part). We had to keep filling our pool with water during that period because of this leak. We left messages daily with Ed who always promised Ray would be right out but it never happened. We also were told that we would be getting a credit for our pool stairs which did not happen either. When we asked about the credit we were promised for our ladder Ray's response was "I have been working 6 to 7 days a week and I am not going to argue with you because it will not end well!" Rendered speechless after that threat we decided to let it go. I am very disappointed in my experience with this company and will not be ever using them again. I warn those who will us Robco Pools that Ray will promise the world but will not deliver. It is a shame they don't either stop taking on new business that they can't handle and make their current customers happy or hire some more help to deliver on the good service they promise.

Back in 2014, (and I realize that seems a bit outdated, because personnel and management and so…read moreforth, can change).... we visited deans and picked out a standalone woodstove. We set up a date for them to come out and install it and they came out on that date and did the install. They did a fine job. Fast forward to 2016 and I'm living in a new home and the decision was made to buy a woodstove from deans. This particular model although similar in some construction respects, doesn't stand in the middle of the room but rather is recessed partly inside the existing fireplace. Therefore because of that type of set up it has a blower on the bottom. The unit works well, although I miss a standalone stove, because the radiant heat is more efficient and aggressive and no blower is needed to assist the heat flow. Anyway, with regard to deans itself, the 2014 install was done on time and done well. The 2016 install was done on time and done well but I'm having a problem now with service. They don't seem to follow up as efficiently as I would've liked and here I am on the morning of the day that they're supposed to be coming out to do a cleaning and I still haven't heard from them confirming that they are in fact coming and approximately what time of day they're going to arrive. That means that I'm pretty much forced to blow off the day. It's a good thing that I'm retired and not losing money for the day that I'm taking, but I don't like the idea of having to blow off my whole day because I haven't heard from somebody. You can go to any one of their locations and see a lot of really neat stoves, and as long as you plan sufficiently far ahead, you'll probably get it done when you're supposed to, but watch out for a little things like those floor plates that are supposed to protect your house... The one that we initially bought in 2014 was warped and had to be replaced before it was ever final installed. Also be aware that later on you may discover that you cannot get service to respond to you as quickly and as efficiently as perhaps they should

Everything with EZ Aqua was exactly that... Easy!!! My first…read moreregret with EZ Aqua was not working with them sooner!!! They are FANTASTIC and HONEST!!! We had a stellar experience with this company. They were the first pool company I called when purchasing a new home. But then I thought I should check out and research more pool companies because this was the first pool I had ever had built. After interviewing everyone in the area and two years wasted I went back to the first guy I found and that was David at EZ Aqua. I just had a good feeling about him from the start and I should have trusted my gut because after working with him and having our pool for the fourth Summer I now know without a doubt I'd never use anyone else. David was so knowledgable and he doesn't do the hard sell. What I really appreciate about him is that he listened to what we wanted and was able to advise and educate us on what our best options were. He did not disappoint. In fact he delivered!!! He's honest and fair as well as working within our specific budget and got us the best bang for our buck. We LOVE it!!! David built us a beautiful pool that turned out exactly the way we envisioned. We had zero problems, no unwanted surprises, and nothing but great Summers ever since. He also built our pool ahead of schedule. I honestly can't thank him enough. I highly recommend him and his company. They truly are the best around with NO B.S. The EZ Aqua motto is, 'We make memories!" Boy do they!!! I have to say that is right in line with my experience! They make GREAT memories that will last a lifetime for my husband, myself, and our children!!! I should mention that I have a son with Autism and the pool has been wonderful for him and has helped him get outside and to socialize. I noticed another reviewer who left a negative review before I hired David and I'm so glad I didn't listen to what that person said. After the experience I had it sounds like absolute garbage to me. I can't speak for that person but I can say I had a totally opposite experience from start to finish and even beyond. Four years later and David is still totally accommodating even if we just have a question he's always been there for anything we need! I can only assume that some people are unable to please. I just have a hard to time picturing that he could be talking about the same company. That wasn't me experience at all and it's a shame that a good guy got such a bum rap. His work speaks for itself!!! Four years later -- results don't lie! I also have had hordes of guests and without a doubt every time people comment on our pristine pool that David built for us. My second regret is not leaving this review soon enough!!! He truly earned it. If I move and build another pool hands down without hesitation David will be my first and only call and he should be yours too!!! You can thank me later because this is the guy. When you speak with him you will realize what I'm saying is fact. Pool builders can be unscrupulous so go with a guy you can trust and that's David at EZ Aqua. I'm a musician with a strong social media presence online and am easy to find so feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about my experience and recommendation. I also run a small bNb and the pool David built has been a big draw and much of the reason I have the five star reviews that I continue to receive Summer after beautiful Summer in this gorgeous pool!!! Everybody LOVES David's Pool... and I mean EVERYBODY! Don't wait - Don't hesitate just dive in, the water is warm!!!!!! Sincerely, Jena Kraus

He diagnosed the issues and found a number of items that needed repair, including a heater and some piping (all damaged due to the freezing). The parts were ordered and although originally came in wrong (causing a re-schedule), they did finally come out and in late October and repaired the tub. The repairs went fine. The tech showed me all of the parts, made sure the water levels stayed up, etc. We had an old filter that he cleaned off and said would be OK to use as we were not going to be using the tub for the foreseeable future, we just wanted it repaired and running. The tech made no indication that the filter may cause future issues. (Note: The tub was never used during this entire time and the cover was kept on) I spot-checked the tub over the next few months --- the second time I checked about 2 months later -- I noticed the temperature was recording about 15 degrees below the set temperature. Everything else seemed fine. I checked the settings and left. The next time I came the temperature was back to the set temperature and all seemed well. About 2 months later I noticed the same problem again and so I called Spa Keepers and informed them of the issue and mentioned we just had the heater replaced. I also gave them full details of the situation in advance, in case this would trigger possible solutions ahead of time or in case they needed to bring a part, etc. I have them flexibility to choose whatever time was convenient for them, as the tub was outside. A new tech game and after some inspection determined that the filter was causing the heating issue -- he said that the fact that the filter was clogged or had reduced capacity, it was reducing the flow and so the tub could not properly heat. He indicated they could order me a replacement for approximately $95 + $10 shipping but did not have one on hand. A few days later I received a bill for a $90 service call + $115 for the first hour of service. I politely wrote in asking if they had any leeway to adjust the bill down as no service really needed to be done... and that I was never warned that the filter should be replaced or it could cause this issue -- and was never asked when I called for the follow up if I had tried changing the filter. Janessa wrote back: "Our previous service visit was on 10/27/15 so the filters are not in the same condition as they were on your 3/7/16 appointment. It is important to clean and replace your filters as needed." Our tub was not used at all during that time and we were told it would be OK to use the existing filter. We also never experienced this problem with the tub in 10 years of use. I also received a "non-apology" (basically apologizing that you feel a certain way): "We do appreciate your business and apologize if you feel that you were not given the information you needed regarding filter maintenance." While I did not expect them to eliminate the bill, considering I had just spent ~ $1500 in overhauling the tub and was not warned the filter would cause this issue, even a token gesture saying "you know, since we were only there a few minutes we will waive part the hourly fee" would probably have sufficed. Instead they doubled down on their charges -- "Our minimum charge to come out is $218.02 regardless of the result of your visit. " Now contrast this to a plumber that came out to repair a leaky drain cap on a shower -- the plumber arrived, looked at the drain cap and said "I'm not going to charge you for this -- take a screwdriver and a hammer and tighten the plate and your problem will be solved for free". In Summary: Spa Keepers original service tech was great and personable. Their customer service handling of situations is lacking and I avoid companies that don't make reasonable accommodations based on situations. As for whether replacing the filter will resolve the issue, I don't know -- I will update this in the future.
