Steve states that his company came out and found no evidence of a pool leak. Really?! When?! I have 24 hour video surveillance. Coastline never checked! I hired a "Contractor" to fix the upper part of my pool. He's not a fence guy. Regardless of who I used, Coastline did work after, with zero communication and filled in as little Diamond Bright as they could to save money. Steve likes to harp on that, and it's not even mentioned in my review.. I made ONE tile color change BEFORE my project even started. Of course Coastline delivered the WRONG original tile I picked. Steve blames the customer. Just one of the many, many mistakes made.. Maybe you shouldn't take in so many jobs at the same time and actually supervise what's going on! His contract states " fill with pre-filter city water to ensure against staining". When I contacted Steve, who was not around to supervise and told him about the dark stains in my new pool, he came looked at it, would not take responsibility and walked away, paid in full Over time, the pool has continued to deteriorate. Stains got darker and Diamond Brite started to wear away and chip because it was not applied thick enough. I asked Steve Schaefer, Coastline Pools to please come and look at the pool. He spent a few minutes, reluctantly, would not answer my questions, was rude and walked away telling me to contact SGM (Diamond Brite supplier). SGM came and inspected my pool. We talked about the poor workmanship. Their report states, "delamination of the surface, pool material not applied to correct thickness, and molting. Complaint resolution: REDO POOL " SGM is an outstanding, professional company that honored their warrantee. They supplied materials at no cost for the job to be done again. SGM contacted Steve Schaeffer, Coastline Pools to resurface my pool. I received a sloppy unprofessional, hand written proposal from Steve, "install warranty material at cost. COD". If this is an indication of this company's service/work , why would I have them return?? There was no remorse or follow up to remedy my problem until SGM stepped in and contacted him. For two months, John ignored my requests to fix their mistake. Didn't show up to appointments. Ignored my texts. When you try to call, their VM is full, so you can't leave a message. I finally went to the store, but Paul claimed he didn't know anything and was extremely disrespectful. Told me to leave the store after I asked for the names of the owners. Took my name and number and said someone would call me, but of course they never did. After spending thousands of dollars, I'm left with a huge stain the entire length of my pool. In addition... I hired them to clean the pool. They didn't show up for weeks and the pool turned green. Algae grew on the surface. When John finally did show up, he forgot to bring a vacuum. Really? He said he would go to the store to pick it up and come back, but he never returned. Again, I paid for a service which I did not receive. The list of complaints can go on and on. John seemed like a really nice guy at first, but once I paid in full and had an issue, they disappeared. Horrible customer service. Not professional. Unfortunately, it appears that the only way to resolve the issue is to sue them.

After having to top up the water more and more, we decided to get some professionals on the case to take a look. We scheduled an appointment with Red Rhino to do an inspection and it was really easy. The staff was communicative and helpful on the phone and on the day of the appointment they showed up right on time. After an extensive search in the pool, the did identify a leak near the drain. They then quoted us a for a repair and we went ahead and agreed to do the work. For appointment number 2, they again did a great job. Showed up as expected and got right to work. The repair was quickly completed and the guy who matched the pool finish was spot on. It was really hard to see a repair was done at all! All in all, we were very satisfied. I'd definitely recommend Red Rhino for leak detection and pool repairs. You can't go wrong with these guys.

We've called and texted Charlie with questions probably too many times in the last few months, since being pool owners is new for us.
