This is the most conflicted I've ever been about a review I submit to Yelp. I was a client of Twin Lakes Pools for about a decade. Earl, the owner, is a really nice guy and for years they did very good work. After a hurricane, they did the work to repair my pool and my deck. They installed pavers and an entirely new pump/filter system. This is when things began getting rough... The pavers look great, but there are places where they are uneven and wobbly after settling- not their fault. I get it. What IS an issue is that my pump was installed backwards so the drain on it is about 3 inches away from the motor. The DiamondBrite they installed never turned the correct color, and despite being only 6 years old it has already begun yellowing in spots. When I informed them about this issue, they said the pump didn't have to be up to code because it wasn't a "new" job, just a repair. As far as the DiamondBrite issue- they insist that despite me paying Twin Lakes for the work, that they have no responsibility because they used a subcontractor and I need to deal directly with the subcontractor for repairs or issues. Also, my filter Chamber was never bolted down to the ground as it should have been, and again I was told that it doesn't have to be up to a code because it's a repair. I don't care about Codes. I just wanted the job done properly. The prices have increased over the years from $113 monthly to $145 plus $45 2/3 times per year for stabilizer. No notification was sent regarding the price hikes that total almost a 50% increase since I began their service. Their Billing Department makes constant errors that resulted in me having to go in and pay in cash and wait for a signed receipt for the last 12-18 months of service. I requested a phone call from Earl, and never received a response from him despite months passing since the request. The most knowledgeable pool Tech person they had on staff was Ricky. He was injured and out of work for several months, and instead of standing by their employee who has been there well over a decade, his position was terminated and now he is gone. Despite the great start years ago, it seems that with Earl largely being absent from the business and in some form of semi-retirement, their service and their staff have devolved. At present, they are overpriced and not knowledgeable enough. I've begun taking care of my own pool and it is less than 30 minutes of work per week. It also costs less than 1/3 of what I was paying them. I truly hope that award reads this and fixes the issues because I really enjoy supporting Mom and Pop businesses-especially those that are Veteran owned and operated. I just couldn't justify continuing service with them after all these issues. read more

This is a bad review because of the workmanship and attitude we have found dealing with them. I hate posting bad reviews and only do so to warn people. I don't want others to make a mistake like I seem to have. To be clear, I did let them know of the problems via email and phone calls. I even sent them these photos too. They have not been easy to work with. And I have to complain to get them to respond. Communication from them has been poor. They also seem to only have one person they send out. He mansplains and gives you attitude. But look at the photos and ask yourself, "is this good workmanship?", "is this finished work?", or "would you be happy to show this to potential clients as the quality of work. you do?" I think its a mess. We hired them to remodel a pool for us. They were highly recommend but after we signed we didn't feel like they were listening to us. We ask them to send a note about what we should expect things to happen and how long things should take. They never did that. We'd just go outside and see someone doing work. Which would be okay if they were doing the work the right way... sometimes they were not. And we'd have to stop them and make a call and have changes made. We are trying to work with them. But it is difficult. See the photos. Would you be happy with this kind of work? Future updates will either be "how great they are to work with" or "what a disaster they were to deal with." Honestly, I hope this has a happy ending. But right now its a mess. read more

Please see attached picture. This is the kind of service $130 a month will get you. They said these filters had been cleaned 3 weeks ago. Not to mention they lied about using our panel to clean our pool when it was not operational before or after their service. The last / final time we were serviced they were only here for 15 minutes tops. Extremely disappointing, go with (literally) any other pool service company other than this one. read more

I needed my pool drained and cleaned. I asked for a chlorine wash which costs $900, an already outrageously high amount. An acid wash would have been an additional $400. The guy washed the pool, but the walls were still badly stained. I asked if I needed an acid wash and he assured me that once he filled the pool he could add chemicals that would remove the stains. I would have paid the additional $400 to ensure my pool looked nice, but he said he had stain removers he would add to the pool that would take care of them. it was all BS, three days later the stains are just as bad as they were when he first filled the pool. The water is clear, but the clean bottom accentuates the brownish color of the walls. To make matters worse, the discolored walls affect the color of the water. In addition, one of the drain covers had come loose after this same company had done an acid wash on the pool last year. I asked the guy to screw it down while the pool was drained. He said he could only find one of the screws and said he would return after the pool was filled and dive in the pool to put the other screw in. There is no screw in the drain cover and it is still completely loose just like it was before. The guy just showed up today and ARGUED with me that I only asked for a chlorine wash. I pointed out to him that I asked if I should get an acid wash and he said no it did not need it. Then he gave me guff about how I could spend a bunch of additional money to have the pool drained again and cleaned with an acid wash. The upshot of this that I spent $900 and even though the water is clear and blue, the walls of the pool look like garbage. It is difficult to find reliable pool service companies, this area seems to attract all the worst hucksters. After my experience with them last year, I thought Twin Lakes was going to be different and that they would provide quality service. Looks like I was wrong. My advice is you look elsewhere for pool service. read more

Place is a rip off. No pricing on sealer and two people working there giving 2 different prices. Then you go to pay and they don't tell you that they charge a fee for using a credit card until after the fact. They have a sign on the counter backwards that you can't see and then the lady flips it when you question the extra charge. That is bad business 101. read more

I hired twin lakes to replace my pool pump. Installer did a terrible job of installing the new pump and also broke other things. When I called to ask them to address the issues, they started to charge for things installer broke. Sherri screens all the calls. Prior to hiring them, she would take the calls. After I started having issues, she will not come on the call anymore. They will take a message and never return the call. I called the owner Earl to talk about it, but he was busy to talk to a paying customer. This place provides terrible service and doesn't stand behind its job. Installers are rude and unprofessional. You don't want these people anywhere near your home. read more

The foreman Don was great to work with and kept us updated on progress and timing throughout the job. The quality of the work was excellent and was completed well within the timeframe we discussed when we contracted for the work. It was a pleasure working with all the folks at Twin Lakes. Was a long time customer and mostly deal with the helpful old guy (I think his name is Rich). Sent the wife there one time with an o-ring to replace but Rich was off, they gave me the wrong o-ring, which screwed the manifold on my DE filter (not their responsibility). When I tried to return the O-ring they would not take them. I decided to remodel my pool (around 60K project) and decide to try with them again. I've been trying to reach the owner Earl for a week (called multiple times and left messages) and he does not call back.... Pointless to keep trying. read more

Been going there for years. Bought a pool pump last year 4/3 and it burnt out may 26th. They give a one year warranty so they said they couldn't do anything, ok I understand But as iam leaving with my old pump (and new one)the rep tells me they stopped carrying those cause they had so many problems with them.
