I went to Leslie's today because my pool guy has Covid and hasn't been by in two weeks. I took a sample of our pool water because I was told if I take a sample someone can Help me with how to clear my water up. The person at the register was very rude. His name was Gerson R (46228). He did not want to do the test. Was very rude and was not helping in any way. I am clueless about pools and what cleaning supply to get. I had to call a few people ask them in the store for advise as he stood there and watched me. He did not give any advise or help with anything. The customer service is horrible especially for a pool supply store where most people that go in don't know what is needed. I will not be going back there again. read more

Today was my first time in Leslie's trying to learn about how to maintain my pool. Ingrid was so patient and helpful in answering all of my questions. She broke it all down, even writing out instructions for me on a piece of paper and I even learned how to measure chlorine and PH level. Ingrid at the Tarzana store is, in my mind, one of the most knowledgeable, friendly and helpful people I have had the pleasure to work with. She is patient and explains all aspects of pool care in a way that isn't belittling. I had some major work done to my pool and she patiently, over several days was able to explain what needed to be done to bring it back 100%. I've been going to Leslie's pool supply for 25 years or more. I could go to Home Depot or another pool supply store and pay less but I try to support the local location. I tried to download some coupons hoping I could save a few dollars since I know I am paying more for chemicals when I go there but I could not use the coupons because they were for "On Line Shopping" only. After leaving the store and checking the prices I paid, I discovered I could have saved 30% at the other store I sometimes go to. Sorry Leslie's but you are off my list. Competition is tight and you are not moving with the times nor do your employees make any consideration. $46.99 in store, $39.99 on line with free shipping fro you, $36.75 walk in at another place. It genuinely pains me to have to write a "sucky review" of the Leslie's Pool Supply on Ventura Blvd in Tarzana (or is it Woodland Hills?). I love the concept and years ago I was a loyal customer... TIMES HAVE CHANGED. First, the store was understaffed for a Saturday morning.... One employee for the whole store on a Saturday... ARE THEY SERIOUS? Second, their credit card reader did not work... I had to pay cash... Lucky I had enough! Third, their signs advertising products with rebates are deceptive... they only show the price after the rebate... nowhere is the price you have to pay that day displayed... nowhere. Fourth, even though it was April 21st, the signs adverting rebates on Hayward brand pool vacs had all expired on April 1st... As a result, the price they expected me pay was substantially higher than the price on the sign. And fifth, their "special" on a 22 Quart nICE Yeti style cooler was a complete misrepresentation. The sign clearly says compare at $199 when the highest price I could find anywhere was $105 for the upgraded version carried by Walmart. FYI the 22 Quart cooler on "special" at Leslie's is a dumbed down version that does not have either the pressure release or the built in bottle opener... this visit was truly sad for someone that tries to give his business to "brick and mortar stores." Shame on Leslie's Pool Supply... You ain't what you used to be and I am going to look on the internet first for pool supplies from now on. read more

Great service is highlighted when something is being sold, but the mark of great service and when it matters most, and that is when things go wrong. In my case, my pool pump went out, and I called Leslie Pool Supplies to see if the pump was still under warranty because I've had it for just under 3 years. To my delight, the 1st representative told me it was under warranty and advised me that I would be contacted to schedule a service shortly after. I got a call to schedule service, but the date offered was a little far out however the scheduling representative was able to get someone out the next day which is really as good as it gets. They inspected the unit and determined that a part needs to be replaced but I was told the part might take around 10 days but with no specific date provided. I was directed to the store to see if I could get a tracking number. I called Leslie Pool Supplies in Tarzana, and I was lucky to have Ingrid there when I called. First she took time to listen, and understand my concerns. Rather than simply waiting to give an automatic reply, it was clear she was listening to understand my problem and she was listening with the intent to work with me to provide a solution. There was a delay in shipping, so I asked if the part could be over nighted if I would be willing to pay for the cost. She asked if she could call call me back as she was working with a customer. I was happy to wait and she called me back shortly after. To my surprise not only did she call me back to give me an answer about the shipping, but she took the initiative to search and said she had found the part available in the Pasadena Location and called the location to ensure it is available and a functional unit. She asked what my availability was for service and asked to call me back. Ingrid then called me back and said she went back and forth with the service department to schedule the repair and was able to get someone to repair the pump on Saturday 2 days later. She apologized for not having a sooner date available, but what is important to me is that she was working with me and doing everything she could. She wasn't just doing her job, she went above and beyond to provide the best service possible and advocating on my behalf. There are a lot of things that impressed me about Ingrid. She was polite and pleasant from the moment I called and took ownership of the problem thereafter. She went above and beyond doing the legwork to see if the part was available at a nearby location. She took ownership of the problem from the very beginning and I felt like I had someone on my side trying to find a solution instead of someone I had to work against to get what I needed. She was sincere and when listening and followed up as promised. Ingrid is a rare gem and I hope that her employers know that they have a superstar on their payroll. I am sure she has a bright future in any position or leadership role she holds in the future. Ingrid was able to turn a problem into a solution and an unfortunate situation into a desired outcome and in doing so has made a fan out of me. Thank you Ingrid, and thank you Leslie Supplies! The staff here is friendly but they're usually only one or two people working. So if there's more than one customer, plan on a wait. The prices are on the high side, and quick check on google will usually find a discount elsewhere. I'd only shop here if you need something that can't wait. read more

The next morning, Ingrid called with a service appointment. Her prompt attention, continued customer contact and action once again, proves that she is the reason to shop at Leslie's....but only at the Tarzana store. Honest folks, generally busy and a touch cold, but they do work around a lot of chemicals! If there isn't time to shop online, it's a good place to get products if you need them. It's a good local pool company, nothing warm or extraordinary, but very convenient for honest water testing and chemicals or general pool products at retail pricing. Today I went in and had my salt system checked and I was concerned that maybe the test was there to sell more salt systems, but it showed good and my water was low on conditioner so just a 45 dollar visit. read more

Very unhappy with staff. Walked into the place and two ladies behind the counter wanted to help. I told them i had a return, and they said all sales are final. It states that on the receipt, big letters. All sales are final, no returns. I asked really, and she said, yes, no returns especially with chemicals it is on the receipt. wasn't interested in reason or what it was, just were too busy to find out. Very unprofessional and rude. Don't know how they got a 4 star which was the reason i went there to begin with. Don't waste your time. read more

LESLIE'S POOL SUPPLY & JACUZZI EQUIPMENT: I have had the worst experience with this store and it's product line, Jacuzzi. I purchased a new Jacuzzi filter in March 2017 and had Leslie's instal it for the 5 year warranty. Within a year or so, the entire interior manifold cracked under normal use. It spewed DE all over the pool and would no longer run. I went back to the store where I purchased it with the defective manifold and my receipts. The store manager, William Holmes told me the store does not stock the part, even though the entire Jacuzzi line is manufactured and sold by Leslie's pool. He said he would order a replacement manifold from the "Escondido store" and it would arrive in about 5 days. Meantime, my pool is without filtration and the algae has started to grow. After 5 days I kept calling William who just kept blowing me off, telling me the part is not in yet, etc. I asked him to call the Escondido store to see if they actually shipped the part, and William said he would, but he never did. William said he'd call me back to confirm the part was shipped, but again he just blew me off and never called. It's been over a week now and my pool still has no filter and the water has fouled out with algae. The Jacuzzi line of products appear to be cheaply made, flimsy and the company that makes it, Leslie's, does not stand behind its warranty, at least not for me. They left mhanging with a defective filter, horrible customer service and no recourse. I wanted to talk with someone in the corporate office but was referred right back to Willaim Holmes in the Tarzana store. Stay away from Leslie's pool and positively do not buy Jacuzzi pool equipment whatever you do. read more

OK I am new to the world of pool maintenance and repairs. I had to let my pool guy go and decided to bring in a water sample to Leslie's. My water was in very bad shape. But they took the time to explain what I needed to do it make it right. They spent the better part of an hour teaching this newbie. So off to the house I went and took my pool filter apart and cleaned it. I could not for the life of me get the thing back together. I decided to just go back to Leslie's and buy a new assembled filtration system. Well this is when I met the manager William Holmes . William Holmes not only told me I didn't need to do that, but he actually told me to get my filter assembly and bring it in and he'd show me how to put it back together. I would give them no stars if I could. I went into the store with the sale offered by them on my phone. They refused to honor the prices they had online. The sign on the door said they honor all competitors prices. But obviously not there own. I showed the manager it doesn't say online only and he still refused to honor the price. I have found chemicals for my pool at a forth of the cost and actually working better at home depo! read more

Not all Leslie's are created equal! I learned this after I stumbled across this store after my disgust with a manager at another location. This is by far the best Leslie's ever! Jackie is the young lady who helped me and she was simply amazing. She literally sat with me on the floor of the store and gave me the run down on my pool, what I needed and how I needed to make it all work. She also explained in great detail the many products that they offered that would suit my needs. This is not my local Leslie's but I drive past mine to go to this one with any questions and will also do so for any of my future pool needs. I should have written this review last month, but better late than never. We were having one hell of a algae problem that hit us suddenly about 6 weeks ago. We were in between pool service companies and had recently hired a new one. Our new service company quoted us $325 to solve the problem which alarmed me on several levels. First, it wasn't that bad, second algae problems that we encountered years previously we managed on our own without a pool service. So we went over to Leslie's in Tarzana and discussed our issue with the manager on site, William Holmes. He solved a few other issues a couple of years ago that we were having, so we felt comfortable when we saw that he was still there. We told him that our problem was getting worse every day and didn't understand why our pool service was charging us so much to handle it. He explained what he thought was going on with our pool and its sudden change, and then carefully showed us how to solve it. He sold us a series of products with very specific directions on how to handle the issue ourselves over the course of a week. We followed his instructions completely and within 6 days our pool was crystal clear and our water tested out perfectly. The entire cost was less than $100. We got rid of our brand new "obviously over-charging" pool service immediately. This wasn't the first time William helped us out, but it is the first time I am writing about it. William sold us our new motor and pump a few years ago too and was completely professional about it every step of the way. The sign on the door of Leslie's in Tarzana states that it closes at 7:00 pm. I showed up at 6:15 and a dude/employee coming out told me that they closed early because the manager went home. I guess that is why Amazon is so popular for fungible items, like pool supplies. That's the last time I drive to this place only to be told that I can't get what I need. read more
