I've been using Hydro Spa for years, actually decades, since I bought my first Sundance spa there many years ago. By the way, it's an excellent product and I only wish my cars worked as well as it did. But it does need maintenance work when the heater coil or motors finally, wear out. Remember, it's working 24 seven! As for Hydro Spa, they have always come out in one or two days, diagnosed the problem correctly and usually are able to fix it the same day or the next if they need to get a part. Their prices are fair (though it's been a very long time since I used any other company.) As I said, It's like maintaining a car that isn't broken, but occasionally needs expected maintenance. But the big thing is, they are honest and they fix it right the first time. I highly recommend them if you ever have a problemwith yollur spa or Jacuzzi. read more

I am adding to my previous rave review which I wrote before I received delivery. In my previous review I didn't mention that I had been shopping for spas and Leslie Pool and an honest spa repair guy spoke very highly of Hydro Spa. The spa I chose which has all the bells and whistles is the same price as other companies charge for plain Janes. It feels wonderful to know that I made a very good decision and worked with trustworthy, honest and reliable people. My gorgeous spa was delivered exactly as promised. My old spa which was ruined by All American Spa Services, was taken away by Jason and his team from Hydro Spa. They very carefully removed the side of a gazebo and took away the 96X96 horror! They even hosed down the mess where the spa was. The new spa was installed perfectly, All American had ripped off the electrical conduit. Jason installed a new conduit. He was very patient with me and explained everything I need to do to maintain the spa. After setting it up it was ready to use that very evening! What an unbelievable pleasure it is to use this fabulous spa! I now use it every night to ease my aching muscles. No more trouble sleeping through the night! Love this place! I've been buying chemicals and supplies here for many years. Our family has purchased 3 different spas over the years. Also purchased a rail handle with a light, nice steps and easy to use covers. Peter, the owner is very nice. Always has been. Another younger male employee not so much. Rude, condescending and just has a bad attitude towards customers. We need a new spa again because ours is pretty worn out after 10 years of constant use. Motor problems, lights and jets don't work well etc. Now the heater is on its way out as well. So it's time for a new one. We will not be coming back here unfortunately because of the rude and unprofessional employee we delt with. Jake was a great help in figuring out which spa to get and also the best way to move forward with electric (an extra $1,500 expense for my house) and the concrete pad (an extra $1,000). Peter was great in getting everything set up for delivery and the delivery guys were super professional. I bought a Bullfrog spa in July of 2019 (2017 floor model) from Chris at Hydro- Spa. Service was great until, fast forward two years later, when I moved about an hour and a half away (in the mountains) and had a problem with the spa that seemed electrical. Hydro-spa was the closest Bullfrog dealer - Plus I have a five-year warrantee on the spa. I called and explained the problem to Chris - First he basically insulted my electrician for not being able to figure out the problem. Then he sounded hesitant because of the distance - I told him I understood but I would be happy to pay for the travel time. Chris told me he would call me back on Tuesday (4 days). Tuesday came, Wednesday came, no call so I called and left another message. No return call. I ended up calling another hot tub company in LA and they sent someone out. I paid the travel time and the tech diagnosed the problem and ordered the new motor that I needed. So much for a 5-year warrantee and customer service. However, when I needed follow up and help AFTER THE SALE, I find out his son CHRIS has taken over and he is 'Hostile' and as a former Vice President for several worldwide multinational companies, sales, marketing, CUSTOMER SERVICE, Europe, USA, Asia 'I would NEVER put this Chris in front of ANY CUSTOMERS'. I don't like leaving BAD reviews or any negative ones. But this company / owner Peter and Chris after we purchased changed. We purchased a $15,000 A9 Bullfrog Spa over a year ago. When it delivered it was scratched, they replaced it twice for scratches. The third one didn't have scratches but one light needed replacement and the also the pump from day one. I really wanted that spa. I just got our spa deep cleaned by them two months ago and they broke the cover locking clips and speaking to Peter said he would fix it or replace the cover. Nothing yet after two calls to him. To bad they are the only Bullfrog Spa retail store nearest to us. They make us dislike our spa. I'm not sure they will fix our cover or if anything else goes bad how can we trust them. Sad that some companies just care for the sale and nothing after. He's rude and not only that he rushed me off the phone because "he had other customers waiting". I paid approximately $24,000 for my swim spa and would expect at the very least, decent customer service. I recommended a friend to Hydro Spa and she actually purchased a hot tub. Never again. I will never recommend them to anyone. Not to mention the weekly maintenance is a joke. I've watched the guy "clean" and sometimes he just sprays water on the cover and leaves. Living in Southern California part of the fun is swimming and outdoor activities. We have been wanting to get a pool for a long time but with bids from $60-$80,000 there was no way we could do it. We thought it would be fun to maybe have a hot tub and at least we could enjoy these warm California summer nights. We went to look at Hydro spa because it has been there as long as we can remember and we always prefer to support local small businesses as opposed to the big chain stores. We were greeted by Peter the owner, and he gave us so much information and so many options and let us even climb inside all of the spas! He answered all of our questions and was so kind about it. We decided on a 6-8 person hot tub. However far in the corner of the store there was this glorious monster swim spa. It was ginormous and could allow us to swim in the day and be able to sit in the hot tub using all the jets at night. I stared at it longingly but my husband reminded me that we came for a spa not a pool. Peter was so helpful and explained how we could get interest free for six months and exactly what we would need to have the spa installed at our home. Free delivery and installation and even a free pool cover. So I called him back a couple days later and he said he could get the floor models delivered and installed to our house within three or four days. So we called him and told him we were interested in the six person spa we saw in the store. Then I went to look one more time with my 10-year-old son and when we saw the swim spa again we decided we had to have it. Life's short, right? So the ordering went off without a hitch and delivery day came we had to have a crane deliver the swim spa because it couldn't get around the side of our house, so Peter recommended a wonderful family owned business for the crane and his electrician as well. We were so happy with every body that Peter recommended. Not one thing went wrong. We nervously watched as the crane delivered our swim spa over our house and into our backyard with perfect grace. Then his kind workers put together our swim spa and within three hours we were swimming in it. Honestly we haven't gotten out in four days. This is a picture of my kids in the swim spa it is big enough to have a couple pool toys in it and we keep it at a lovely 88°. They are not very unresponsive when something is broken even though the spa is under warranty. We have had to chase them several times, multiple calls made and when they finally did come, they brought the wrong part for one repair. Repair technician said he would let them know he needed a different part and they would call for another appointment. We have heard nothing since and several emails have gone on answered. Bottom line, once they made the sale, customer service is hard to get. read more

I have mixed emotions about this business. On the one hand they were great when we purchased our spa over 5 years ago. Since we aren't in the SF Valley, they were getting a customer in someone else's territory. We haven't needed to call them for any service until recently. The tech that came was great and he's as personable as he is knowledgeable. Unfortunately, his demeanor doesn't quite get passed along to some of the people who answer the phone. Recently we had to have a major part replaced on our spa. It was no small expense but in replacing the piece, we discovered that some other parts also needed to be replaced. We were told how much the parts would cost by the tech. Since we had already paid a service call charge, we were told that they next time the tech came out, there would be no charge. The tech tells me on his way out that someone will call us to set an appointment and confirm that they have the replacement parts. No one calls so when I call to follow-up on when the new parts would arrive and set up another appointment, I'm told by the guy that there would be an additional $90 service charge. Of course, this didn't go over very well so after much discussion, it was agreed that we would not have to pay for another Service call and again, we confirm the price of the parts. Finally the day comes for the second visit and the installation of the new parts but just before I see the invoice, the tech tells me he had made a mistake on the price of the parts (he thought our parts were for an older unit). Mind you the spa has only aged a few weeks since the 1st visit but now the parts are more than 30% more than we originally thought and to add insult to injury, there's another small charge for the service call. The tech crosses out the service charge but even though he claims responsibility for the error I got the distinct feeling that I was going to have to pay "something" towards the additional Service call no matter what! Now IF it is true that the cost of the parts were misquoted by two different people on three different occasions, then I'm equally disappointed that during the 3-4 phone calls prior to the 2nd visit, that no one bothered to tell us the "new" price. This business could be great if they'd realize that they're in a service business for a product that is considered a "luxury item" but if they don't get it together soon, they could find themselves replaced by Costco and the pool guy. As for us, we're hoping we don't have to call them for another five+ years. read more

Wow,where do I start, bought a Jacuzzi from this company almost 2 years ago, the motor broke I called and told him about my problem, He didn't seem interested as he did when we were buying it, he had an attitude and was smug, he said my six month warranty had just expired, I guess I should've gotten a five year warranty, knowing that my Jacuzzi would break in a year and a half , he told me it would be $600 to fix and the parts guy that was coming to fix it would be $170, I told him to pound sand, over 7K one and a half years and I have a broken Jacuzzi, I'm not mad at the Jacuzzi breaking I'm mad at his attitude towards customers. Don't go by your Jacuzzi at Hydro spa, it's like brand new we hardly used it.but we def kept it up. All I was asking was to have somebody come out and look at it and he was giving me all this charges that he was going to do when he got here, that's my story wish he would've told us that his Jacuzzis only last a year and a half I would have not bought it at all. read more

I called Hydro Spa and even though I could tell they were busy on a Saturday, they took time to answer my question and booked an appointment for the next week. The service repair man was on time and got right to work. He found the problem and I got a call from the store with the solution and a price for the repair. The service tech had the part on the truck, made the repair and I was back up and running. I would absolutely recommend Hydro Spa for everything from buying a spa,(we bought ours there), to repairs. Decided on one in store but wanted to go home and make sure it was right thing for us. Called Jake while in the car because as another poster said, life is short and the time is right. Jake took minimal, refundable deposit over the phone. Awesome experience two, check. I called back next day to make it official (Sunday) and took their next available delivery appointment (Thursday 10am). Jake and I spoke again on Monday and then Tuesday for various additional questions, making sure we would be ready for install. On Monday I mentioned like you know, if it can get delivered sooner, we're ready. He said he would look into it. Tuesday he said how's tomorrow and I said, YES! Oh man. Delivered today, the guys were so great. Great attitudes as we dug up a tree to make room on the path to the location. They wore masks the whole time, gave us great run down on how to use and so on, this was definitely an experienced group of people across the board. Awesome experience three, check. Three weeks ago, I paid $180 to have my 1.5 year old spa professionally cleaned for the third time. The first two, I realized after this experience, were by an independent company; not Hydro-Spa. After the cleaning, I noticed the next morning that my spa was still dirty. My wife called and spoke to a female who works there, who said Chris would call us back. That was a Monday. Chris did not call back. My wife called again days later to complain, at which point Chris got nasty and told my wife she was wrong. I called back, spoke to him, and he was initially, equally as rude to me, but apologized to me. We worked out that someone would come back and clean it again. They put a bunch of chemicals in it, but did not empty it. The water, per the gentleman that came out, was much better than before, but still not clear. He said he believed it was because of the rain. It did not rain three weeks ago while they were cleaning it or the next day. It was still dirty from the first time. I called and spoke to the same woman my wife spoke to four days ago, who left a message and told me Chris would call back. He did not. When I called today, Chris was rude and belligerent. Chris continued to say that the spa was perfectly clean the first time it was cleaned, despite him never being here or seeing it. WHY WOULD I CALL TO HAVE THEM CLEAN THE SPA THE DAY AFTER THEY ALREADY CLEANED IT IF IT WAS CLEAN?!? When Chris offered me his "opinion," I told him I did not care to hear his opinion because this was not a matter of opinion. Chris literally yelled at me and said, "I don't care about your opinion," and hung up on me. I called back and began to leave a voicemail for Peter, the owner, I presume. Mid-way through my message to Peter, Chris picked up the phone, said, "You don't need to leave a message for Peter. I'll tell him," and hung up on me again. I again called back in hopes of being able to leave a detailed message to Peter, and which point Chris picked up the phone again, said something to the effect of good luck, then hung up. I am absolutely blown away how a sales person has no skills for people. It was like talking to a giant child who was having a tantrum. Needless to say, they don't stand behind their work, but they do attempt to make you think they're smarter than you by saying rain that poured 5 days later was the cause for the spa never initially being clean. Update: Looks like Chris has a history of not being so great at customer service. I spoke to Peter, the owner, who was very polite, apologized for Chris' behavior, and offered compensation for the spa not being cleaned the first time, regardless of the fact that he hadn't seen it. That is customer service. Again there would be no reason for me to ask them to "re-clean" a spa less than 24 hours after it was first cleaned, if it was cleaned right that first time. Peter, when you get a chance, see if Chris deleted that message I started leaving you. I appreciate you and your time, however as long as Chris is an employee, I will not be returning nor recommending Hydro-Spa. I will be changing my star rating based on my experience with you, though. read more

I bought my spa here nearly 20 years ago and, with sadness, it's time to say goodbye to it. Over the years, I've had to call upon Hydro-Spa several times for a new cover (warm out), new head rests (dog feasted on them), new siding (sprinkler damage), repair wiring (rodent damage) and the basics (chemicals, drain and clean). EVERY interaction has been awesome. Peter, the owner has been in buisiness a long time and was reccomended in passing by a friend who bought a spa from him 20 years ago. What a game changer! He was extremely informative and patient with all our questions. He couldn't assure that we would receive our jacuzzi prior to a possible 5 month wait. But , barely 2 months s later it was in.
