The pool store is always so helpful when we have questions or need guidance. The same person is usually there on the weekends when we go in. They have a rewards program that you can link to getting water tests and it sends you reminders. The pricing can be a little high but when they do have sales, those costs are comparable to discounted pool stores. read more

Leslie's is fine. The staff here don't seem to be particularly invested in your pool success, and they use a machine to test your water rather than do it by hand with reagents. I don't really trust the machines the same way an experienced pool professional can interpret the results from real world testing. Nothing against the employees but I don't know how often their machine is calibrated and I've gotten wildly different results from week to week with Leslie's. The employees are friendly but definitely want you to walk out buying something. read more

The manager of this store Mike is the absolute worst. Despite the super negative energy he had last time, my husband has come here every week to buy chemicals for our above ground pool because it's close by our house. We have spent $200 just this month here. I called Mike to ask a question about scrubbing our pool at the bottom and he told me they sell an extender thing that will help and it's just called a "pole" - that if I googled the word "pole" I would find what he's talking about. Yeah no that's subpar lazy customer service. I asked him if they sell this special pole in store. He says yes. I ask him to read me what they call it on the box. He refuses and tells me to go to their website. He sensed that I wasn't giving up and because he wanted control, said "OH MY GOD" and put me on hold to play mind games and see if I was going to hang up. I am more patient than Mike thought. He got back on the phone, I mentioned he was being rude and magically because of that honesty on my part the store was full again and he had to "go" - this dude needs to retire. I would rather drive an hour away for pool chemicals than walk through the front door of this place ever again. read more

Big thanks to James! Walked in there with a big need for a quick pool refresher. James patiently answered all of my questions and presented all of my options to clean my pool and keep it in top form. James tester my water, printed out the results and made the recommendations. I was in & out in under a half hour. Came home and cleaned my filter and shocked the water to get the chlorine to work. The chemicals are great but there's always a weird vibe with the staff. It's hard to explain, other than the main guy, everyone else is off putting. They had a guy one time calling someone to get advice to give to a customer. He did it three times while I was there. There's also a kid in the back who very graciously put down his video game after a few minutes to give me bad advice (basically blew me off so he could go back to his game). read more

The pool guy was on vacation, this after only working for us a week, and so we told him to STAY on vacation (we fired him). Anyhow, I went into Leslie's NUMEROUS times, and each time they gave me an option to TRY and save me from having to drain my pool. Alas, it was inevitable - So I did. If you bring a piece of equipment in to have it worked on don't expect it to be fixed the fist time. The Leslie techs that work in the field usually are trained by making mistakes on your pool equipment. Once the first swim day of summer rolls around you can expect a pipe to burst. They'll deny any faulty workmanship unless it's in the 90 day warranty. Over priced pool toys and the only technician that knows what he's doing has an attitude. I would rather swim in a pond than keep Leslie's pools as a service provider. Bring it to Macs pool supply to get it done right the first time. read more

My pool guy went MIA for the past two months. The staff at Leslie's helped get my pool back into shape.

I decided to start maintaining my own pool last year. I calculated I was spending over $1000 a year just to have someone brush the pool and check the chemicals. I figured that I could do it myself. $1000 buys a lot of wine. So, I have gotten to know the folks at Leslies very well. They carry everything and really know their stuff. They also offer free water testing. They give you a free sample bottle and run all sorts of tests on it. They then tell you exactly what you need to add. I have slowly found out that my pool guy was taking a lot of short cuts. Mainly, the total dissolved solids in the pool (due to evaporation) was high. This made the water harder to maintain and also explained why my pool guy was always fighting the algae. This meant a complete draining of the pool and re-fill. Not only did Leslies help me with this, they taught me how to acid wash the pool when it was empty. Now I feel like a pool pro and my water is looking great in time for summer. Jesse here has a lot of good knowledge and has been a big help. John is also a wealth of information and seems to know everything about pool maintenance. My only complaint, sometimes the wait is 45 minutes for help. But, it is worth it for reliable advice. read more

An older man was working there didn't bother greeting me or asking if I needed assistance. I don't know what's worse, bad service or just plain no service at all? PROS - friendly, helpful staff, knowledgeable, they do financing NOT SO IMPRESS - to start our pump, pool stuff gave up on us - retired unexpected - ok big expense but ok, financing was offered & they kinda hike the price so when it shrink OMG they saved us a lot, grateful for that, then come installation day, really u forgot to mention a +another $1000 very needed part, really. And the $$$ we originally was quoted, like it did not break the bank already & of course if we did not get this part it will not function right - no choice. Ok so long story, I will not in good conscience recommend - look around. Mac quoted same thing - everything just did not have financing. read more

The worst ever! We have lived in Valencia for over 35 years. My husband went to the establishment to buy a part for our polaris. The young girl could not help him, gave very poor advice....i.e. you need to buy the whole kit! The young man in the back threw the part at my husband! Went in to Leslie's to buy a few things. No one was around to greet me or help me find what I was looking for. After spending a good amount of time searching and wondering for things, I went to the counter to check out and I noticed an older guy sitting in the back through a little window opening thing maybe sleeping maybe zoning out idk definitely not working. After a few fake coughs to try to get his attention he finally looked up and (very slowly) walked over to me to check me out, and seemed very unconcerned about the fact that I've been wondering around his store for awhile and waiting to check out for a good five minutes. The younger gentlemen who work there are always so fantastic and helpful but that older dude is definitely not a winner. read more

Like the guys at the actual store but if you need a service done then you have to call their 800# then a guy shows up...the problem is that the service guy came in 2x for the same issue which was filter cleaning and then our sauna came on with it. We paid in excess of $200 and the problem was escalated by the sauna issue. Of Chatsworth said it right: They don't take any responsibility for incomplete or wrong advise; all they want to sell you is a lot of chemicals! I fought green algae for several weeks and all I got from them was: Buy more and more chemicals. Frustrating AND expensive! The customer service is the worst! The service person Mike needs to understand the simple basic words of Hello / Welcome / Thank you! I get placed on hold every time I call. No eye contact when I enter this location. I went into this location on Saturday at 6:30pm, this was 30 minutes before they close, the service guy Mike was counting down the cash drawer. The first and only words from his mouth was "I am counting the cash and cannot help you until I am finish" 10 minutes later as I stood there waiting he finally acknowledged me. Went to replace "O" ring for my filter reservoir. Brought in old ring, they gave me one that looked thicker than the original but assured it was the correct one-not! Went back 2 more times, some teenage kid that was working looked it up in their catalog and gave me another "O" ring. Again it didn't fit. Finally gave up and went to MAC'S pool supply, they gave me the correct"O" ring the first time. Also since I had been using the wrong "O" ring from Leslie l had been tightening my bracket to stop the leak that my reservoir cracked. I had to by a new one from Mac's, thanks Leslie. We have had excellent service and advice from Bob and the staff at this store! We had a serious green pool challenge and Bob patiently walked us through the many steps to get us back to a clear pool. We didn't want to have to drain our pool and he spent a lot of time with us in person at the store and on the phone answering our questions and coming up with solutions. I brought in a water sample, we discussed the issue, then we went step by step on what to do. We were able to cure our pool and we continue to maintain a clear pool! I was a little leery of coming here, based on reviews and reputation. It has turned out to be a great resource for us. We had a pool service for a long time - who just stopped coming - our pool gave him problems. We started caring for the pool ourselves - the testing service provided by Leslie's has made taking care of the pool ourselves easy, and it is better than when we had the service. The technicians have always gone out of their way to be helpful and provide good information. They take their time to make sure we had/ have the information we've needed to take care or our pool. If you go when they are busy, you will wait a while - but if you want personalized service and information, you have to realize the people that came in before you also wanted information. So poo on those people that complain about having to wait while someone that gets in the store first receives service, don't be a nudge, go when they are not busy or take your chances and order what you want on-line. read more
