I live in the penthouse of the front building and have always seen this restaurant from my top-floor window. Our best friends recently dined here, spent over $600, and highly recommended it, so we were excited to finally try it on Father's Day. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. We were seated, and every table around us had their orders taken and received drinks, while we weren't even offered water. We sat there for over 30 minutes without a single staff member acknowledging us with a toddler and a baby!! I finally asked if someone would be coming to our table, and the waitress responded, "That's how life is, you have to wait." Meanwhile, the staff didn't appear busy and were mostly standing around. We came in excited to enjoy Father's Day and support a restaurant we've admired from afar, but we ended up walking out because no one ever came to take our order or even check on us. I had a fasting doctor's appointment this morning and wanted to pick-up something tasty. I ordered for pick-up. I will never do that again. My order was a lamb burger (with fries), falafel (sitting in hummus and with toast), soup and chicken wings. I was so hungry, I tore open the falafel. This dish was so salty, I threw it away. I tried a wing. Nothing stood out. It had no particular flavor and quite frankly, it was under-done for my tastes. The burger did not travel well at all. The bun was a mushy mess and the patty sat on top of a watery mayo of some kind. There were a few slivers of pickled onion, a thin slice of tomato and a few strips of lettuce -- hard to distinguish any of these toppings because it was all a bit of a messy mush. There was no nice lettuce and tomato at Lettuce & Tomato! The patty was the only standout of this order, but the fries that truly tasted day old, were such a disappointment, I couldn't get over it and just put the patty in the refrigerator. This little hole in the wall was amazing! Cute little spot with indoor and outdoor seating. The ambiance was such a vibe. Everything on the menu looked delicious and made it really hard to choose what to eat because the options were that good! The waitress was super nice and very helpful when it came down to my decision. I went with the poke bowl which was super fresh and flavorful. Delicious! My husband and I have been trying various North Miami and Aventura restaurants and decided to try Lettuce and Tomatoes. What a great choice! Their price fixe lunch menu at $35 per person gives you a large amount of fresh food and great choices! My husband ate chicken wings-3 large spicy wings that he said were yummy. I had the falafel (3 large balls), hummus and bread. That would have been enough, but we also got tuna sushi rolls and salmon tiradito. The restaurant is very clean and the ambiance is very friendly. In fact several patrons were greeted with hugs. The service was very good and you could tell that the dishes were made for you and not pre-made. The gentleman sitting at the next table had a huge bowl of soup and then an enormous steak, fries, and a salad. Included were an iced tea and coffee. Well worth the money! I decided to sit outside because they have 4 fans outside with enough shade, but not too much to the point where you forget you're outside- I love that. Service was fast. I came at early afternoon on a Sunday (Memorial Day weekend). Very surprisingly, it was not packed busy. This place is definetly worth the visit. I suspect it's due to the location being a bit off of Biscayne that it's not too crowded. No complaints here. But it feels more like a hidden gem for the neighborhood. They also have their own parking shared with one other business so that was great to have. I got the house burger with fries. $20. Not bad at all given how thick the burger is and the fries are plenty. They use some sauce on the burger, that I think makes it feel more on the sweet side. They also use a less dense burger bun which I appreciate. They can cut the burger in half for you which made it easy to eat despite it being huge. I got my burger well done, and it was perfectly well done! Their fries are thick but a little too much on the crispy side. But the seasoning mix they use makes up for it. The staff are all friendly and bilingual in Spanish and English which I wasn't expecting from a brief glance of the place online, so that was great to see. My server was Susana, but the two other staffers I met at that time were nice too. Overall, I felt very taken care of and well fed during this visit. I highly recommend this place, especially because it met my needs for a spontaneous lunch spot to chill solo at on a Sunday. read more

We live in the neighborhood and have gotten carry-out from L&T since they opened, many years ago. Though they are not always consistent, they had improved over the last couple of years. Until now - we just ordered 5-6 items last weekend and one in particular was absolutely terrible. The 'poke bowl'. Absolutely the worst I've ever had. It was very literally a many-times rewarmed bowl of soggy, torn up rice which reminded me very much of something one would find in a cafeteria. No seafood evident, just mush. Appalling! North Miami Beach - Recently stopped in for a quick bite on a early Sunday evening. I chose to eat inside although a nice outdoor covered patio was inviting. Immaculately clean and comfortable open interior. Not often seen on menus I ordered the house lamb burger with basil crema, lemon aioli, pickled onions and the requisite lettuce and tomato. It was what seemed to be a half pound of pure deliciousness accompanied by basic but nicely seasoned fries. Paired with a red sangria I left completely satisfied. Service was efficient. The quinoa cremosa was just as creamy as promised. The mushroom flavor was meaty and filled with umami - a must order. For the lunch special-they have a two course meal that includes a beverage. Their options are amazing-unlike most restaurants who choose the less desired for lunch specials. My husband and I decided to both order the lunch specials to mix and match and made our own version of "surf n' turf "! I chose the truffle tuna bites and spicy tuna roll w/ salmon tiradito. My husband opted for the short rib steamed bun along with the 12oz. Angus prime steak strip! We also ordered the Hamachi roll from the raw bar section on the regular menu. Taste? Delicious! The place is quaint, very cozy but it was BUSY - lots of people and take out orders being picked up. When our food arrived, we knew immediately that it would be great - piping hot, fresh spring mix salads (not watery iceberg), delicious meals. I had the empanada to start - so good, it came with a savory clear dipping marinade with bits of tomato and onion. For my main, I had the Chicken Milanese, which likened a large chicken schnitzel - so fresh and crispy. I asked for a switch on the potato mash and the waitress said they could do carrot instead. It was SO good - it wasn't sweet or soupy, it was savory and flavorful. My only regret is not getting pics to show you how good it was. Afterwards, we had to use the restroom and to our surprise, there were two very clean and unisex restrooms. We decided we would definitely return. read more

My partner and I were wanting burgers and after not being able to get into another restaurant in the area, we went to Yelp looking for other options. I had seen Lettuce & Tomato after driving by them in the past but never thought about looking up their menus or anything.. just didn't know what they served at their restaurant. They are located right off West Dixie Highway, with plenty of free parking right in front of the restaurant. So I went to their page on Yelp and saw they had some really tasty looking burgers, and thought this could be a good option for dinner. I added ourselves to the wait list on Resy (gave us a 25 minute wait average in the Rest app). We went to the restaurant about 15 minutes later and we requested indoor seating upon arrival, but nothing was available. But the very nice hostess said we could sit outside and as soon as a table inside opened up, they would move us inside. We placed our order with the very nice server, and just as promised the hostess moved us inside a few minutes later. For the meal, my partner and I started with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc for $32, and we both ordered the Au Jus and Truffle Burger ($15). The burgers also came with a small side of fries as well. The burgers were absolutely amazing, with the burger being very tasty and juicy. The Au Jus sauce was also very tasty, and I believe it was homemade in the restaurant as well. I'm not sure how other Eliters recently have rated Lettuce & Tomato so low with their ratings recently, we thought the experience was 5 stars, and the food was outstanding. What a real find in North Miami Beach. It's a very cool quaint place. Inside & outside seating. They are very well staffed. They were extremely attentive. The service was impeccable. The food was outrageously delicious. We started with white sangria. It was very refreshing with a good amount of fruit. The appetizers were a hamachi roll topped with spicy tuna. So delicious. Very light on the rice with a good amount of fish. Then the endive & pear salad. The usually comes with kale, endive, pear, apricots & manchengo. We did it with field greens & no endive. This was again so refreshing. Next I had the filet mignon sandwich. This was the best steak sandwich I have had in a long time. Also a lamb burger which was perfection.
