The owner is, without question, the most rude and unprofessional individual I have ever encountered in the hospitality industry. The way he speaks to his hardworking employees is appalling, and his treatment of customers is equally unacceptable. He creates an uncomfortable and disrespectful atmosphere that overshadows the efforts of an otherwise outstanding team. I am genuinely surprised this restaurant is in business under such leadership, and I question how long it can sustain itself this way. I had some friends visiting town and they return to Cut 38 with every visit! So of course that was where they took me for dinner. I'll get my biggest complaint out of the way early (because this is a mostly positive review). At an upscale steakhouse in a suburb of Miami with a "full" bar, they had only ONE white rum option (Bacardi) and ONE dark rum option (Myers). It would be one thing if we were at a winery or a tap house or someplace that specialized in alcohol that wasn't liquor. But instead they had dozens and dozens of bottles of liquor, just apparently no interest in rum. I ordered a margarita instead. OTHER than all that jazz, I had a good experience! We started with a bread basket and the thick cut bacon. I ordered the BBQ ribs and a side Caesar salad. The thick cut bacon is my friend's favorite, and I can see why. Delicious! The ribs were literally fall-off-the-bone, and the BBQ sauce was well-balanced. The Caesar salad had one single crouton, which was honesty humorous in its audacity! We finished our meal with the key lime pie, which was more than enough for the three of us to share, and was tart and satisfying! Overall, I thought my experience was largely positive, though I do hope they invest in another rum option or two (or three or four? I had what can only be described as a frustrating and disappointing experience at this restaurant. A few weeks ago, I arrived wearing a simple short-sleeve shirt, only to be told by the staff that I couldn't enter--even if I wanted to sit outside. I was shocked, as other patrons, including women, were wearing similar casual attire without any issue. When I politely asked about this discrepancy, the owner's explanation was that men and women are held to different dress code standards. Not only did I feel singled out and discriminated against, but the owner's attitude was rude and dismissive, leaving me feeling humiliated in front of other customers. It was an experience that made me question the fairness and professionalism of the establishment. I will never come back and will never recommend this place to anybody because he discriminate man by sex, we live in the United States. Was hesitant to dine at Cut 38 based on the mixed reviews. A lot of the reviews reflected poor service. I dined on a Sunday early evening during the summer. It was slow and I grabbed a spot at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and attentive to my friends and me. Cocktails were on point. I started with a dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives and ended with a Tito's espresso martini. 5 stars for the bartender and her service. What was average was the food. The bourbon onion rings were fantastic....extra large, crispy, cooked golden brown. A savory dip came with it and the bartender also brought a sweet dip. The Thai steak noodle salad lacked flavor, noodles, streak and mangos. It was mostly lettuce that needed more dressing. It was average at best. Houston's still has the best Thai steak noodle salad. I will go again for the onion rings and drinks. read more

Let's start off with the food... always fresh, delicious & cooked to perfection. The burger is insanely big & tasty. Fries are always crispy. Cole slaw is fresh & crunchy-- nice big portion also. The Thai steak noodles are also very tasty, fresh & a nice light option. The spinach dip is one of my absolute favorites. Love the complimentary side of sour cream & salsa. The Clam chowder is thick and creamy. The drinks are the best in town! Flavorful & strong !!! The service is top notch. Love seating at the bar, the waitress is great!! There were two available tables on the outside one by the door, where waiters were going in and out with the food and duty dishes and another one by the wall. Both tables had four chairs we were three and we were refused the table by the wall. The owner, or whoever it was quite nasty but my friends did not want to look for another restaurant. After we sat down at the table we did not choose and we started to talk we could not hear each other as the speakers were blasting some repetitive motive, not really a pleasant music, that started to give me a headache. I asked for the speakers to be turn down a bit and the owner, or whoever he was, told me that we should go somewhere else as we were complaining from the beginning. My two friends, older ladies, did not want to go as they wanted to try the restaurant's lunch special. I was not impressed with the food at all. My Thai salad was wilted, noodles in Thai sauce were calf and pieces of stake were just OK. Left half of it. I will never return there and would not advise anybody to go there as the quality of food is not worth the personal abuse. read more

If you want attitude from the owner come here. We are a men's lunch group of 6 to 9 men that meet weekly for lunch very often at Cut 38. Today we informed the owner that there would be 7 of us, but because only 4 of us were there at the time he set up two tables together to seat 6. 2 across from each other and 2 on the ends. In a few minutes 3 of us arrived to join the 4 seated. But because now there were 7 of us we pulled the small table beside us to create extra seating. Even though there were other empty tables available the owner came running out and started yelling at us not to touch or move his tables. We explained that we were now 7 people and possibly 8. He didn't care and said rudely he'll decide when and where to seat us. One of the guys asked him to reconsider and calm down at which point he said "I'm not serving you!" We said fine and left. We went to the restaurant next door and Argentinian Steak House with a wonderful lunch menu, great food and very good service. They just picked 7 new customers who will back for dinners as well with their wives. All I can say is it's his loss. He also needs a lesson in customer retention and service. read more

Rude reception. We came here for lunch to be seated outside with our legal small service dog and was refused service. The American Disabilities Act demands that public establishments allow service dogs. They should be put out of business. Happy we didn't eat here. One of my few "go to" restaurants in the area. I come here often for lunch. The food is always on point and delicious. The prime rib absolutely melts in your mouth, and the burgers are the best around. I am a huge fan of the mixed vegetables. The price point for lunch is what drew me in, but the food quality keeps me coming back. For a VERY decent price, you get the main course and a side dish (the side dish is full-sized). The burger is around $10, while the prime rib was around $30 the last time I had it. these are LUNCH prices only, between 12-3, and the portions are the same as they are for dinner. I will say that a couple of times I have felt the staff to be a bit offputting when things didn't go exactly how they had planned. For instance, my friend and I ordered burgers, and when they came, they were too rare. Rather than the waiter, just taking them back to the kitchen, he decided to give a lecture on meat temperature, and the color of meat, etc. My friend and I were both in the restaurant industry and felt this was out of line for sure. I am giving this restaurant five stars still because nine out of 10 times. It is a five out of five star experience. read more

7 years later this place is still bustling with activity on a Friday night. With very popular outside bar seating and patio seating overlooking the parking lot may be the best ambiance in town it is still outside on a beautiful night in South Florida in March. We were able to secure a table outside as the Manager / Host James was very nice & we chatted about the place & their new Italian place next door H2O. Once the table was ready our server Elise took great care of us all night making recommendations on the menu, sides ETC. We were not starving so we decided to split the 16-ounce NY Strip with a Loaded Baked Potato & fresh cut fries. A generous pour on a glass of house wines were appreciated. The bread was a crusty sourdough that was truly top shelf. Butter along with Olive oil was offered. The Steak arrived timely, and it was absolutely perfect. A nice char with solid seasonings cooked to perfection. The Baked potato was good, but the fresh cut fries were the winner of the 2 sides. There was a steak sauce presented on the side, take note this steak DID NOT NEED any sauce in fact it would take away from its goodness. No coffee but we did try the homemade Lava Cake with Ice cream that really was outstanding as well. The owner Dave stopped by to make sure that everything was going well, and we promised to give his Italian place next door a try in the future. Walking in the neighborhood my friend and I found this place. This place opens at 12 and at 12 there was a line to get into the restaurant. By 12:45 pm it was packed! My friend and I sat at the bar to enjoy the happy hour drink prices and the 1/2 lunch deals. Daniella was our server/ bartender. She was very pleasant. Food Ordered the burger and fries. Delicious. Asked for it to be made medium well and it was! Drinks - I had about 4 glasses of Prosecco. I thoroughly enjoyed my food. Price - you can't go wrong with the price. Only $38! Ok back to the experience... nice place centrally located, the food was great little expensive to be honest but at least I was not disappointed. From the second I sat down, the bartender gave me nothing but attitude. I wasn't even served water until I had to ask for it, and when I requested a lemon, I had to wait over 10 minutes after asking another waitress! I went for lunch with a coworker on a Thursday, and 20 minutes after I started eating my food, I needed to use my work laptop for 10 minutes. The bartender rudely informed me that I couldn't use it. I asked to be moved to a regular table, but she said I wasn't allowed to use my laptop anywhere in the restaurant--something I've NEVER heard of before. As if that wasn't enough, just as I was about to finish my lunch, the manager came over and told me I couldn't share a single bite of my food with my coworker because, apparently, "IT'S NOT ALLOWED." Seriously? At this point, I was fed up, asked for the check, and left. But the nightmare didn't end there. As I was walking out, the manager stopped me to inform me that I was banned from ever coming back--all because I shared a bite of my food and used my laptop. After checking to see if they had "walk up tables", we were told we could sit at the bar. Which we did. The food was delicious. Thick cut bacon appetizer is amazing. My wife had the scallop special and I had the jumbo prawns. All very good. By the way, two high top tables behind us were empty form the time we showed up and still empty when we left.
