Love Tuck Room Their happy hour is one of my favorites, the outdoor seating is such a vibe, and the music is always on point. Sitting by the fireplace is hands down my favorite spot. We come here all the time, either for happy hour, before or after the movies, or when we're heading to Hubble Bubble. The Tuck Room is a bar and gastrolounge in the north Miami IPIC. It is decorated with neon lighting and floor to ceiling bookcases with art on them. It has a lounge, speakeasy vibe. The name was inspired by speakeasies which are "tucked" away. You can eat inside the restaurant or order food delivered to your movie seat as we did for the Barbie movie. A specialty cocktail and mocktail were created especially for the movie and I could not resist the Barbie pink colored Lavender Lemonade made with lavender, limoncello, and butterfly pea infused gin. It was delicious and gave me all the Barbie feels. My friend I decided to split a couple of appetizers and ordered the buffalo chicken egg rolls and the fried mozzarella. Both were great. Happy hour deals are great. You get a good amount of food, but I believe their cocktails drinks are prebatched and not balanced well. So we decided just to go with well drinks. Service was nothing good. It was very slow. For our second round, bartender was nowhere to be found and we had to go to the cinema part to try to order to only be told the bartender will come. 10-30-21 Evening Came here with friends for drinks. It is actually the bar and restaurant for the I Pic theatre. If you enter from the outside you do not have to go to the theater. We sat on bar stools outside the bar as we heard this place was great. It was still early so not very busy. Me and my two friends ordered a pitcher of Norma Jeanne it was like an alcoholic pink lemonade with way too much ice. After we had our few sips we left on to our next adventure for the evening. Cute spot for drinks before or after the movie! The space is beautifully decorated with a wall mural made to look like bookshelves, and it's the perfect atmosphere for a date. The large bar has seating both inside and outside, so you get a nice breeze when seated at the indoor bar. Our bartenders were friendly and prompt, so I would highly recommend this spot for a pre-movie drink. Since we were already in the area checking out car dealerships, we might as well start looking for a place to grab a drink and quick bite. I started looking on my bookmarks on Yelp and this place came on top. I am somewhat familiar with the area as I used to go to Aventura mall all the time. The traffic getting in and out of the place is a nightmare, especially on the weekend. But we already expected of this before coming in so its not too big of a deal. This place is located in the same building of the iPic theater. You can get in from the front entrance of the theater, or through the side entrance like we did this visit. The place looks very nice inside. Very clean and modern looking. We proceeded to the bar and start looking at their menu. Too bad when we arrived, it was too early for the happy hours, which happens daily from 4pm to 7pm, then 10pm to close. Since my wife and I figured we will probably have more than 2 drinks each, we ordered their signature cocktail pitcher deal for $27.00. I think it worked out great for us because we can barely finish it and it'd have cost us more money should we order two drinks each. We also tried their tuna poke appetizer. The tuna tasted fresh and I love the sushi rice that came with it, which was served in a bowl under the tuna. It's a pretty good dish and if I have to make a criticism, I'd suggest they use less ginger because the dish we had, they put in way too much of it which totally overpowers the whole dish. I'd recommend this place if you are in the area or stopping by after catching a movie in iPic. I'd imagine parking might be an issue since I saw a valet stand. So I went here thinking that it was just a cool lounge. I had no idea that it was a part of the iPic Cinema experience. This was neither advantageous nor adversely affected my experience, but you definitely noticed the the increase in patrons before and after shows. I made a reservation on the Yelp app, but at the time I arrived it wasn't that packed. We were quickly seated and asked whether or not we would be watching a movie. I'm guessing this would determine how fast orders would come out, but may have to investigate further. I really enjoyed the modern decor. It was quite imaginative. The wait staff were extremely attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menus. Their drink menu was quite extensive, but I went with the "Build Your Own" Old Fashioned. I thought that to be a rather cool option, with many varied ingredients for you to choose from. The drinks were well mixed, but ran around South Beach prices (~$12). As for food, we decided to stick with the starters, which still proved to be a lot of food. There was a lot more variety in this area of the menu as well. The descriptions of everything sounded delicious and the ones we chose lived up to their billing. The Papas Bravas, Buttermilk Fried Chicken, and Sweet Potato Fries were more than enough to quiet the hungriest stomachs. I will definitely be back to try the other offerings on the menu. "Love at first sight but left with a fright" Ok, so the title is awful lol but this is a MUST READ. This is one of the most gorgeous restaurants I have ever been to. I fell head over heels for this place. If I could rate on ambiance alone, it would have 6 stars. The pictures are nothing compared to seeing the restaurant in person. This place reminds me of a VIP lounge in a club. Very sexy, perfect decor and lighting. Even the bathroom was amazing! A group of us came on a Friday night and they had the best DJ playing music that you could just spend hours listening to. Now, the food: I ordered the shrimp tacos. Not impressed. Very bland, if you ask me. I paid way too much for something of that quality (and you only get two). It came with guacamole which was ok but I was disappointed with the meal overall. The tandoori chicken skewers were a different story. It doesn't look like much and it could use better presentation. Nevertheless, it was delicious. The chicken was tender and I think it had an asparagus based sauce that went really well with the chicken. Now the horror: I really, really wanted to give 5 stars. So what went wrong? You wouldn't believe how awful the service was. It took forever for our server to get our orders. Very sweet girl but was not very efficient. They had more than enough staff members just hanging out by the host table. I wonder if they could've helped this poor girl out? I had an empty glass of water for a long time before she came back. When we did finally get our meals, one of my friends noticed dishwashing soap on her plate. Literally, a thick, bright blue Dawn liquid dishwashing soap oozing right under her flatbread. She lifted the flatbread and there was a puddle of it just sitting there. I think we all lost our appetite after seeing that. I have never ever witnessed that in my entire. One girl didn't get her appetizer until AFTER she finished her entree. She mentioned it to the server at least three times. If you are the manager reading this review, it would have helped if an authority of some sort came by to apologize. We really wanted to love this place because we enjoyed the atmosphere. We were disgusted with the service and that HUGE mistake with the soap. A formal apology for the gravity of that situation would've helped to offset our disappointment. Instead, the server just said oh sorry and gave us a response of "I won't charge you for this." Like we were supposed to be grateful? Seriously?! That's it?!?! Being the nice group that we were, we ignored the atrocity of the terrible circumstance. Hopefully no one else experiences something this awful!!! I always have a great time at The Tuck Room and last night was no different. Their drinks are mixed well and never disappoint. Last night I ordered a Lychee Martini that tasted so amazing. (Maybe it had something to do with the drinks I had at the holiday party, lol). Either way, this one was good and it was the only one I needed throughout my entire meal. I ordered some truffle fries (that I absolutely enjoy) and a vegetable garden pizza. Their fries are by far some of the best truffle fries I've had and the pizza had some caramelized onions and tomatoes that had my mouth watering. It's definitely something I'd order again. The Tuck Room is located inside Ipic Movie Theater. They are not the same place, although they can be mistaken that way. I love to order my food and drinks and have them brought to me inside the theater. A very interesting place adjacent to a fancy movie theater. On a Sunday afternoon, I decided to do a quick stop at Tuck Room but I didn't know it was part of a movie theater. I was a bit hesitant to walk in thinking it will not be good since they are catering to a theater, but fortunately that was not the case. It didn't make a difference. It was a normal restaurant operation. We decided to stay by the bar since the restaurant was almost empty. We were greeted by Serge who took excellent care of us. He made us some delicious cocktails and gave us great recommendations. The craft cocktails are made with fresh ingredients. Mojitonic made with gin was my choice and it was not only refreshing but delightful. For dinner, the waygu burger with fries was big and tasty. The meat was very flavorful so I didnt need to add any type of sauce to it. It was also juicy and perfectly cooked to a medium-rare temperature. I only wished the bread was toasted. A side of brussel sprouts just took it to the next level. Delicious sprouts cooked with nuts, apples, and Pecorino cheese. Great combination! Prices are a bit high but for the service and the tasty food it was all worth it. Next time, I may try to catch a movie with my meal while sipping on a delicious cocktail. read more

Interesting place in an interesting location. Located next to iPics (is it part of the theater?) The Tuck room is tucked away in the corner and while it has great ambiance (love the wall made of books) it just wasn't firing on all cylinders on the night we were there. First of all, they have valet parking (there is also a small lot) but the guy leaves at 8 so he didn't want to park my car. Okay. I gave him 10 bucks and he found a place for my car but the whole thing was odd. Upon entering, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. We sat at the bar (really nice bar area) and had a couple of drinks which were well poured by the female bartender. When we went to sit down for dinner- the inside tables are a little loungy and made for larger groups so we opted to sit outside on the covered patio. Big mistake cuz the mosquitos were unbelievable and chased us back indoors before our drinks were even to the table. Back inside we sat at one of the loungy tables and chairs. The menu is out of date so know before you go that there are things on the menu that you can't have (like the chacuterie board). C'mon. How much effort does it take to reprint your menu? Our server was new and not very knowledgable so when I asked a couple of ingredient questions, he didn't know, nor did he go to ask. He wanted to do the right things, I think, but I don't think he had been trained on much. I started with the tuna poke which tasted okay but was served atop warm rice. Very odd. When I asked why the rice wasn't mentioned on the menu, the server didn't know. I then ordered the skirt steak as my entree and it came to the table very dry with none of the salsa verde that was described on the menu. I decided to forgo questioning that given the lukewarm response I had gotten on my other inquiry. Another round of drinks came and we had to send one of them back and asked for the first bartender to remake our drinks. She actually came over to the table to check to make sure the drinks were done that time to our liking. All in all? Great ambiance but everything else except for the female bartender needs work. The plates are shareable so I was able to try a few things. The appetizer croquettes were delicious Had a little bit of a kick to them so brace yourselves for it; as did the calamari. I've been to iPic theaters before, but I didn't know the Tuck Room was inside the actual theater, so if you're looking for this place, it's inside the theater. It was really nice, spacious, and the service could not have been better. Keep in mind, it was a Tuesday, so it was slow, but still, I commend the staff for their efforts. Now the food; it was all very good! We got the meatza flatbread, which was just pizza, even cut into traditional slices, but very good. We also got the reuben croquettes, which were delicious, and the buttermilk fried chicken, which was also delicious. I'd definitely return to try other items or eat here before/after a movie. Had the pleasure of being invited for a media dinner on Wednesday. I was there last week for a press screening of the ipic theater which houses The Tuck Room, so I knew the guestaurant was very pretty inside. But Wednesday I got to taste the food created by Chef Sherry Yard. The dishes are all shareable, not full portions. Finger food if you will as these are also the dishes that you can order while watching a movie at ipic theater from the comfort of your seat. All the dishes are beautifully, tasty. My favorite was the lobster roll and the French onion soup rings. The deserts were amazing too, my favorite being the chocolate peanut butter bar. They have an extensive assortment of specialty drinks created by Mixologist Adam Seger, signature mojitos made with sugar cane. My favorite house drink being the perfect storm. This is not a cheap guestaurant, it's a classy tapas place if you want my opinion. On the downside the drive is too long, it took me two hours to get there during rush hour. It was also a great surprise that they had the Miami-Spice menu still going even though it was October! For appetizer, we ordered the avocado. OMG! If you come here you MUST get it. It is an avocado dip served inside of an avocado shell, with cheesy crisps to dip with. The best dip I have ever had! I also ordered the croquettes which were really good, especially with the spicy aioli. My boyfriend had the beast burger for his entree which was very good. It is a big portion served with fries. I said to the hostess "I'm glad I didn't need to make a reservation, I was worried about not getting a seat." Cheddar cheese that was definitely left in the walk in, open for too long because it was dried out, and chunks of truffle cheese. Whoever did the slicing needs to up their knife skills. Ahi tuna - figured it would be like any typical appetizer. Nope. It was like a poke bowl served over rice with tortilla chips. Not a refreshing appetizer in the least, too heavy to be a starter and I can't stand rice like that. Margherita flatbread - not a true Margherita pizza. I liked the crust but there was no fresh basil or tomatoes on it. Basically a mozzarella flatbread at best Crab cakes - disgusting canned crab which is blasphemy and nobody should ever do it. The Mojito's are of the chain and with him making them, they're that much better. Last night instead of going basic, Daniel suggested the Yuzu which is a native fruit and it was awesome sauce. Then the bday girl wanted strawberry so that's what we did and it didn't disappoint either. They have one of the best Spice Menus offering tuna poke, crab cakes, and the avocado (must try) They have great burgers (from what I hear) but I'm a sucker for the salmon and the lobster Cobb salad. The portions are big enough to have left overs and the taste will blow you away! The desserts are huge!!! Great service, fast casual. Always before going to see a movie do I stop by at the tuck room bar and order some quick apps. I tried the fried Max and cheese and the truffle fries. My husband had the sliders. Very satisfying, quick and good service. read more

Lesson learned, never let a non yelper male decide what Miami Spice we are doing on Sunday for lunch. Woke up late, drove all the way north for this and left really mad about all of it. The place is beautiful but its more a bar, the type of place to have a conversation before you walk into the movie or to chill after one, it is not a place you come simply for the food as the food is not that great, the service is pretty bad and the prices are completely unreasonable. Thank god for Miami Spice, cause if it wasn't for it, this would have been a $150-$200 mediocre lunch. All as it was, it ended up being $65!. We had a burger, yes you read right, a burger. That while the meat was really good, the bum was cold, the tomato was super thick and overwhelming and the bacon was flavorless. The appetizer was a wannabe poke bowl that was very filling and cutely presented with chips (not sure if they wanted the plate to be mexican or asian). The desserts were huge and unmemorable. We looked at the normal menu and the prices were very high. We sat inside in one of the couches and my back hurt by the end of it. The bathrooms are beautiful, if you are into that sort of thing. I had passed by this place a million times and every time I always told myself I should come check it out. The place looked great in pictures and I liked the reviews, but for some reason, I never actually did. Today, I planned on going to Duffys, but their system was down, so I finally came to check The Tuck Room out. First off, I absolutely love the decor, it's so beautifully decorated and I love that there is an outdoor area aswell. Secondly, the food was better than expected. It was 4 of us and we shared the brussel sprouts, truffle fries and the ahi poke, we also got a mojito pitcher, all of us loved all of it. I shared the wahu burger with my boyfriend and we could barely finish everything, after eating the appetizers. And lastly, the service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly It was a great experience! I will definitely come back here soon. read more

I'm very disappointed by all the reviews that said this place had great food- it absolutely did not. The tandoori chicken was actually chicken satay. The meat board was nothing like you'd get at the "sister" restaurant, Tanzy in Boca Raton. We will not be back anytime soon. Too bad, we just moved into the neighborhood and live about 5 mins away. read more
