I've been going to see Wink for about 5 years now and followed her to Level 10 where Erica and Wink set up their own shop. Contrary to an earlier reviewer, Erica is not the sole owner. Wink is the co-owner of Level 10. I have had many other hair stylists in my long life, and Wink is by far the best. As we all know, a good hair stylist is hard to find. Once you find one, you stick with them. Nothing is worse than a bad haircut or hair day. We've all had that one horrible haircut that took f-o-r-e-v-e-r to grow out! Well, look no more - Wink is a fantastic colorist and stylist. Recently Wink made a suggestion that I try coloring my hair red. I have to admit, it was the best decision I ever made! Thank you Wink for making the suggestion!! I never would have thought of going red. Everyone thinks it's my natural color. HAHA! I trust her with my hair and there have been a lot of times that I just told her - do whatever you think is best. How many of you can say that and trust your stylist completely? I have never been upset or disappointed with anything Wink did. She has great instincts and style. Right now I am trying to grow my hair out and Erica told me just yesterday - "Long is not a style". Maybe. But, while I'm going through the rough growth stage, I like to think that I can still look fabulous and Wink makes sure of it. I'm sure everyone can relate to wanting to look their best. OMG! Brazilian Blow-out, I had never heard of it until I walked into Level 10 Studios and sat down in Wink's chair. My hair has always been very frizzy, and if it could have been worn as a curley hair style without being the size of Texas, i would have done that. The hours in the morning of straightening and smoothing were just not working for me anymore, and usually as soon as I walked outside it would frizz back up as if I didn't even try. Now it has been two weeks since I had the treatment, which by the way, was not bad at all, it was like just having a lovely shampoo and thorough condition, and my hair is still absolutely AMAZING! I ran around all day yesterday in the cold fog and drizzle and at the end of the day I still looked like I had stepped out of a salon. My hair is long, straight, shiney, soft and feels like a ten year old's hair again. As soon as it wears out (should be 8 to 12 weeks I understand), I will be back in that chair. I was looking for a new salon and a friend suggested Wink at Level 10 Studio. I made an appointment with her for the following week. She was so cute, energetic,and was a really great listener. I brought in a couple of pictures I thought would look good. She studied them and after explaining to me the hair in the photos was really different from my own hair type suggested something totally different. I was so comfortable with her I told her to go for it. I am so glad I did! Not only do I love my new cool look, but it is easy to take care of too. Wink showed me how to style it myself,and took extra time to teach how. I think Wink is an awesome stylist and a very cool person too. Wink took care of my highlights for years before I moved to Florida in 2004. I now visit the Bay Area often and make sure to time those visits so that I can continue having Wink care for my hair (she is now an owner of Level 10 Studio). She is a superb colorist and discusses your hair 'plan' with you before she begins. She is exuberant and glamorous, and wants to make sure her clients leave the salon also feeling glamorous. Wink has been taking care of my mess of a head for so many years, I can't even admit that I have been an adult for that long! She is the master of color, can fix any color problems and/or gray effortlessly and is truly an artist when it comes to styling, all at reasonable rates. After a consultation (she gives them to everyone in her chair old or new) we got started with my color. It was Perfect! Then we moved on to my new haircut. I have gone to Wink for several years. She is the only hair designer who has ever properly corrected my hair color. Before I started going to Wink my hair color was completely mismatched to my complexion. Now I receive compliments about my hair all the time - like "Wow! Your hair color is dynamite!" Also, Wink keeps my haircut stylish and up-to-date. She listens to my requests and looks at photos of hair styles I bring in and she delivers with the cut and style of a professional. I came to San Carlos needing my hair done badly. I walked into Level 10 and the environment was friendly and inviting. Wink not only cleaned up my hair style and color, she made it look natural and told me exactly what I needed to do to keep it up. In regards to the previous comment by THEDREAM W about Kimberly Munn, I was in the chair of another stylist getting my hair done and saw the whole event happen. THEDREAM W has lied about 80% of what really happened. Bottom line is THEDREAM W was very rude to Mrs. Munn and even though Mrs. Munn never said "get out of my salon", she should have. Only took 90 minutes and I am amazed at the results. my hair is soft and shiny now. The results are much better than using a flat iron.
