Paloma was great! My normal hairdresser was moving so I really wanted to try this place since it's really pretty! AND I was in desperate in need of some TLC. My hair was dry and super overgrown. I came in looking for a standard haircut/trim since my usual hair stylist is all the way in Los Gatos and I've been looking to find someone in the peninsula for the little stuff. I'm very impulsive when it comes to getting haircuts (I.e. I don't like planning in advance so if I see my hair is looking a little limp and need a clean up, I need to do it right away. Luckily I was able to book relatively quickly and easily on their website. The pricing varies from the level of the stylist but overall pretty reasonably priced/standard pricing ($$) of a nice salon. The studio is right off of El Camino Real so it's a little hard to find parking but if you're lucky, you can park on the street. The space itself is super cute and cozy. I went right before Christmas and it was decorated for the holidays. I believe there are only a handful of chairs and 3 stylists who work there so it's not very big but it's perfect for an intimate setting where you can actually have a conversation with your stylist without trying to talk over a bunch of other people and blow dryers. I just got a trim (with long layers) so nothing dramatic but Alyssa did a good job and we discussed some options if I wanted to color my hair. read more

I specifically called and requested a hair trim and a French braid, and after my hair was dried I was informed by the stylist that it was not relayed to her that she needed to French braid my hair. The front desk rather than taking accountability played in the finger blaming game, and informed me they did not answer the phone. She went to the back to talk behind my back about me asking them to take accountability and be a leader when speaking to clients. It was not the stylist's fault but the lack of team management is definitely why I'm disappointed. They were flexible as I was 15 minutes late due to traffic which I appreciate. read more

Paloma has been doing my hair for a few years now and I've never left an appointment feeling any less than obsessed! Not only is she amazingly talented, but she is also such a pleasure to spend time with (and we all know how long these hair appointments can be). She always picks the perfect hue to compliment my skin tone, the best cut for my face shape, and I've never had to restyle it when I get home. For the past couple years I've been experiencing serious hair loss that I'm still trying to figure out, so I've decided to try out hair extensions. I wish I had a before picture to show what a difference it has made in my life, but with the extensions I finally feel confident again! First, I had a previous cancellation from a different salon and I really needed to get my hair done before an upcoming trip and would be free only for that day and so I called Salon Paloma in the morning and they had an opening that same day due to a cancellation! The stars aligned and was truly meant to be! The salon space was very clean and aesthetically pleasing: exposed brick walls, brass hardware, and the vibe is wonderful! I got a haircut by Paloma. While she was very nice, I absolutely hate my haircut. I asked for a trim with layers and face framing pieces, the haircut I got was way shorter than I had anticipated, super choppy and uneven, as shown in the photo with no blending. The right side layers are way shorter than the left, and although not pictured, my face framing pieces are horrible with super blunt cuts and no shape or layering to them. She also cut one random strand of hair super short in the back, and made my face framing pieces way heavier than they originally were. I paid for the service as I'm bad with confrontation (as I'm sure many of us are) but this is NOT a $100+ quality haircut. read more

This is such a nice salon and the staff is wonderful. The front of the building is cute, with a nice A-frame sign to help identify the storefront. I was able to easily park on the street just steps away from the entrance. They also have parking in the rear of the building and a lovely back entrance. Once inside I was really impressed. My first time getting my hair done at a salin and I have to say Paloma is amazing. I have extremely curly and thick hair and I wanted to get it dyed bright red. Every other hair stylist that I had talked to had told me to not do it and that the bleach would ruin all of my curls no matter what. And to make this even more of a challenge I had dyed my hair previously with red box dye and topped it with black box dye that I had bought at Walgreens. She took her time and worked her magic on my hair.
