This place is honestly such a fun and unique concept! I came here for a friend's birthday after dinner so we didn't try any food here but just wanted to experience what the overall vibe was like! They have so many different rooms and vibes going all on one floor, it literally feels like an adult Disneyland! I love all the thought put into making the place from the intricate designs of each room to the fun atmosphere of live music! Also the fact that all the doors look like other things like a hidden bookshelf or fountain but lead to a different area literally satisfies my inner child! Some notable places was golden hour where the outdoor rooftop bar is absolutely stunning and moving!!! And the Mr. Wanderlust speakeasy bar was so much fun with the live band, dancers, and piano guy! We went on a Saturday night and it definitely got more packed later into the evening but mostly 30s+ crowd not as many mid 20s as I would think, don't know if it was just the time we went! Came here on a sat night.. super packed and nice spot with different options of clubs to experience... same level has several options for amazing drinks at the 8 different bars with views of downtown LA... a must try if your in LA and want to meet with friends for a nice evening out. The only reason I'm giving less than perfect score is because one of our friends that evening got kicked out by security for having a verbal disagreement with a couple in the walkway on the way to the restroom and lost his sunglasses. Those sunglasses were worth more than one of there paychecks...and I'm super upset over that. But as far as venue, vibes, music, space, drinks etc.... Those were all close to perfect! Went to the food festival last month. Great experience. Different food options and different sections of the area. I asked for water from one of the bartenders and she was nasty. Lied and said that she didn't have water. One big issue that I had was they had problems with their card machine and connecting with the Wifi. He then took us to one venue and opened a tab which couldnt be transferred over to the venue my friend was at without properly educating us or asking which venue our friends were at. Afterwards they lost my card and my ID. After bringing my friends over to the venue with minimum, we got a table which was quoted $500 at first but they upped the quote to $1500. Bottles took forever to come out. When cashing out, they couldnt find my server for 20 minutes. I also noticed they charged my card twice for the tab. Also witnessed a fistfight in the elevator. I personally love this place. 8 different bars/restaurants to choose from, you never get bored. Amazing outdoor views by the pool and the mother of pearl bar. The piano bar is the best. Amazing drinks and the best espresso martinis. Make sure to try the mezcal old fashioned there. The pianist rocks the stage for 10 minute intervals. Make sure to feed him tequila. We got there as a group and I was pleased that we didn't have any trouble with what we were wearing (street clothes really) and no cover (I'm new to LA so this might be normal). The upstairs signage is a little confusing but the 'pool' bar (I don't remember the name) was very nice. We eventually ended up in the back club area (don't remember the name but believe it was two Ss) and it was very fun. Great music, good drinks. The sun was out and with my shades on, I came to Level 8 for a roof-top pool party on Sunday to hear the Satin Jackets, Clavette and other DJs. After parking my car a block away, I could hear the music from the street level and boogied my way to the elevator. Perched on the eighth floor in downtown LA, L-8 has amazing citywide views, and the atmosphere was bouncing with chill energy, great dance music and fun. The party ran from 1-7 pm, plenty of time to get a suntan and a dip in the pool. Beach towels were provided. Although the place was packed, my group was able to get close and dance in front of the DJs. The dress code was very casual; shorts, tee shirts and many came in their fashionable beachwear. I was pleasantly surprised the exotic drinks ($22), wine and beer prices ($13-15) were very reasonable and not outrageously priced compared to other venues. The L8 staff and bartenders were friendly, and our drinks were prepared quickly. Cabanas, VIP tables, and food service were available for extra $$, but I paid $30 (Eventbrite) to get in. Parking nearby was $23. Don't forget to bring your sunglasses. read more

I was told I couldn't leave until I hit the minimum my friend left because he was done with the club other friend stuck around but was not happy with our experience and wanted to leave before our last drinks to try to hit minimum On top of that 20% gratuity automatic But to be honest the manager hooked us up so the night wasn't a complete bust But the reason why I am giving this place one star is because you feel like you're hostage you're not allowed to leave one room with a drink even to go to the restroom or to go to another room You were not allowed to go to the Rooftop with your drink well sort of the rooftop next to the taco truck on the roof because it was nowhere near what you see on the pictures on Google at least when we went on Friday But you're not allowed to leave one room to go to the roof with your drink Or to go to another part of the place with a drink The manager was the best part of our night. Based on him hooking us up and him walking us into the second part which was the speakeasy But to be honest I am writing this review honestly because the club is small the Speakeasy is small and everything i wrote above. I was at the pool/carousel area and I can tell you the bartenders don't know how to make a drink. I tried the mai tai, espresso martini, whiskey sour and eventually dumbed it down to a plain jack and coke and they still managed to mess it up. Mai tai was extremely bitter Espresso martini was all espresso Whiskey sour tasted like juice Jack & coke was all coke, at least they didn't use Pepsi. The staff bouncers were all great but damn your bartenders are awful. In the middle of service they decided to have an all hands meeting while in the middle of making drinks. We paid $240 for -Small fire pits: 500 ml cocktail pitcher with s'mores kit (this is from the website) what we got were four s'mores and a pitcher of "cocktail" that seemed like mostly sour mix. Rooftop venue on the 8th floor of the Moxy Hotel consisting of different restaurants, bars, lounges and a night club (ish). Very cool concept with each individual venue having it's own theme and vibe. However, they don't all necessarily work. Each venue, while it's own entity, are not necessarily big, and you can feel crammed into a source that could be larger. Drinks are on the expensive side, as you're really pissing for ambiance here, and aren't as good as the price would indicate. The reservation system needs a complete overhaul for everything not a restaurant as a reservation at something like Golden Hour is about as useful as a parachute on a sinking ship. Also, if you want to sit down, they charge you table prices ($750 at Golden Hour), or you can pay $50 a seat by the bar. For what it is, it's not worth the price at each venue, but it is free to go to and check out, take a few pictures. Empanadas with chimichurri sauce bomb! I ordered the Tira de Asado and it was delicious but a little overcooked but still quite good. Ambiance, tableware, flatware is very nice. The decor is a combination of contemporary over old LA existence. Lighting is phenomenal and photo challenging at times but the rooftop carousel bar was not disappointing. We had money to spend and drinks to relish up but there was no seating area for first come, first served guests. Made certain areas look sad and unwelcoming. A girl like me wearing high heels after a boot season wearing winter made me want to leave fast. Santos was a whole other vibe. We started off at Golden hour for some drinks and to view the sunset. It is absolutely stunning up there and definitely worth making a reservation to check it out . It's has a very romantic vibe to it. I would want to come back for a date night, maybe as a stop before dinner somewhere. I know it's new so I'm sure they are working out some kinks, so I won't be so harsh on service. We had a group of about 10 or so and drinks took forever to come to the table . We had friends show up 30 mins late and walked up to the bar ordered drinks and got theirs before we did. So hopefully that gets worked out ! Conceptually excellent, but the execution is mediocre at best. This place looked so much fun from TikTok videos and I really wanted to try Mr.wanderlust. ( never trust TikTok videos lol ) There was a line for general admission around 8:30 pm, but we got in fairy quickly once we told them we were there for Mr.wanderlust. I thought the entire place will be divided by 8 floors, but its actually all in one floor. ( kind a disappointing) Each place is quite small and they barely have space for people to chill or dance. Everybody kind a looked confused lol I think they were all feeling the same. ( expected more and disappointed/ unsatisfying experience) Interior/ decor did not feel premium and that kind of ruined the immersive experience also. Would I recommend my friends to go? Went with a party of 5 to celebrate NYE, we purchased VIP Tickets after reviewing the venues offerings of premium alcohol, hors d'oeuvre, burlesque shows, falling snow on the rooftop, DJs etc. We arrived at 8pm there was a total of 3 trays of hors d'oeuvres passed, they were making sliders with mustard and pickles in one of the rooms (they were disgusting). The alcohol was cheap well liquor with a charge for premium not as advertised with VIP entry. At one point who I believe was a chef came out and called one of the servers a fucking idiot it was terrible. The music was absolutely awful, we were stuck in the early 2000's all night. The only live entertainment was an aerialist right when you walk in the venue. This venue was completely misrepresented and definitely not worth the price. read more

A lot of issues here but I'll start with the $30 per person cover, being forced to buy online even though you're literally at the door - and give your instagram during the purchasing process. I can't stand what's happened to the party scene where it's all about social media and collecting as much of your info as possible with every interaction. The part that really got me was the blatant racism we experienced by some woman (I assume the event organizer) that got on the microphone and said "hello all my beautiful black people, and for those of you that aren't black... let the melanin flow to you and be blessed". I was in disbelief that someone could say something like that in this day and age. Gotta be the most racist thing I've heard in a LONG time. That was essentially a middle finger to everyone that wasn't black, like we're lucky to be around black people or something. Gtfoh with that nonsense. Drinks were decent but overpriced at $20+. Literally nowhere to sit unless you pay. This place is the epitome of what's wrong with the LA party scene. Tiny dance floor. Everyone tucked into their little expensive cabanas so nobody mingles. But there were 2 cool bars (1 outdoor bar with a lighted up carousel looking bar and Piano/window dancing bar) and an ok indoor club there with a strange wrestling ring above it. Can't see much. So much potential yet this bar falls short of Dtla premium nightlife entertainment. Don't bother going if you want to have a good a time. This establishment is known for keeping your credit card hostage for drink minimums. Then when it's time to pay, they "lose" your credit card. This has happened to me and to at least 3 people I know in 3 different occasions. We contacted management and they have yet to do something about this.Very sketchy.
