BEST IN CLASS! I am a loyal and repeat customer specifically because of Chip and the service I receive at the Highland, IN location. Over the last three years, I have purchased 8 tires, countless oil changes, three tire alignments, brakes and pads, a rim, a tire barring thing, and an embarrassing amount of tire patches. Chip and his team have been there with me along the way. Walk-in or appointment, I am always greeted warmly and made to feel comfortable. The service is quick, informative, fairly priced, and not intimidating at all. Here are some of the highlights: *Easy key drop box for off-hours car drop off, with envelopes *The service team has taken me back in the shop to show me certain things on my car when I didn't understand *Sometimes when waiting for my car, I go across the street to a restaurant. Chip will walk my keys over if I don't hear my cell phone ringing! *I went through a divorce in this time and he assisted me in getting all of the account information changed over in a very gentle, smooth manner. *I had fraud on my debit card, was trying to use another card that wouldn't work because of a student limit (I transferred funds to my son's card thinking it would work) so Chip took the shop shuttle and drove me to the bank so I could get cash. Always helpful, very gracious, not annoyed by my situation. THE BIG ONE - From getting to know Chip over the last three years, we discovered that we live in the same small Indiana town. I recently had a bad house fire and had been displaced. Chip recognized that it was my house that had the fire so when he found I had dropped my car off for some repairs, he took it upon himself to organize among him and the team to change out my brake light free of charge. Why? Because he and his team wanted me to have one less thing to worry about during this time of tragedy. I will literally never go anywhere else for car repairs specifically because of Chip. Yesterday I go in with my wife to get the service tire monitor system checked, wipers and motor fixed and for them to check the tires, especially one of them on the right passenger side cause it keeps dropping low. So we pick up the car they said everything is good no problems. We go home and then the next day in the morning, when my wife has to go to work the tire is low again we call and they said it's our fault. That when we drove it home we must have gotten a flat. Really so we go In For a possible flat and they say no flat. We paid over 400 dollars for them to just blame us they never checked the tires it's obvious look at the photo . I went to the closest shop near by and they pulled this nail right out. I'm very disappointed with Levin Tire company not satisfied with the service and then the attitude they gave my wife. They didn't have what I wanted in stock but had them delivered the next day. At first I tried calling discount tire on multiple occasions with no success. So I tried Levin tire and had someone on the phone within a few seconds. Customer service is not even a heard of at this place. They are condescending and really don't care about customers. They joke about how long it takes to get an oil change. They knew I was in a hurry and made it take longer. Then stood behind the counter talking about how I was in a hurry. I will never go back to such a terrible place. Today I called Levin Tire and was told it would be an hour to hour and half wait in having my tire looked at related to problems with my left front tire. I'm finally now leaving and the total wait time was 3 hours and 53 mins. The service gentleman I dealt with behind the counter was pleasant. Just wish there was more of an idea about customer wait time today. I was happy we did not need to replace the tire and was told there was a leaking around the rim which mainly required the rim to be cleaned and the tire reinstalled. Total cost today was $29.69 for labor. Glad we did not have to incur a larger cost of replacing a new tire for our Toyota Siena. read more

I was here in Sept and again tonight. They may do a decent job of repairing (read: not replacing) tires but it's their customer service in this establishment that makes the place so abhorrent. I think this staff believes if they pepper in the word, "Ma'am" 10,000 times it makes their tone, condescension and general disdain of their customers more palatable. It only serves to make it an expensive lesson to those of us customers that paid for discount tires and supposed great customer service to see that they have you by the collar on your investment to the establishment. Their timelines are never accurate, 3hrs to LOOK at my vehicle in September and tonight it's heading toward hour number two. I will mention that twice when I have called to make an appointment or speak with someone in what I was told was the Accounting department, they have been nothing but professional, polite and definitely treating their customers respectively. read more

The slowest oil changes/tire rotations in the world. I have been here many times and to my recollection only one time did it take less than an hour for a simple oil change and tire rotation. Currently approaching a 1 hour and 45 minute wait, for maybe the 4th or 5th time for a very simple and routine service. read more

This place takes your money and once they have it, they do not care about you at all. Follow up Service is almost impossible! They do not take appointments. If you get there at the time they open, they put you in line behind vehicles that fleet companies drop off and you have to wait. You expect us to either drop of the car or wait there for 6 hours. Jim is a good guy, he is not out to get you (keeping in mind that most service centers do, especially if you are a young female), & he will tell you if it's something you need right now or if it's something you can hold off on. The typical scam in this place is you bring a vehicle in to fix a flat and all of a sudden their tech's "discovers" other problems. I have numerous friends and family this has happened too as well as myself. I took the vehicle in for second opinion somewhere else and they thought I was crazy when I told them the diagnosis. I took my car to Pat's Frame and Axle and supposedly got an alignment. I took it back and told them the car was still pulling. They checked it again and it was worse than before. I was sick of them and went to Levin. They had the car done in under an hour and now it is actually aligned properly. The car rides better and I couldn't be happier with them. Went in for an oil change. Counter man was not familiar with the computer program and could not find my name connected to my cell phone number. Had to ask another counter man for help. Wasted time on this procedure. Was then told that it would be an hour and fortyfive minutes for the oil change. Stupid me agreed to the wait. Procedure took over two hours. Pitiful. I bought a service contract here for my tires when the car was new. I brought it back for a rotation and they said that I needed something called a camb, cast & toe? Whatever the hell it was it cost an extra $114 bucks. Funny thing that the car only had 19 thousand miles. I got the car home and realized that there was grease on the middle of the suede seat. Made an appointment for my front 2 tires to be replaced and to get an alignment. After dropping the car off I received a call stating they couldn't perform the alignment without replacing a broken tie rod, replacing the rack, and replacing a broken shock. I was told they weren't surprised my shock was broken since they were factory when In fact I had just replaced them months prior. An independent evaluation from a place I TRUST (who just doesn't do tires), confirmed that absolutely everything the tried to up-sell me was completely inaccurate. Nothing broken and no need for a new rack. Needless to say I will never be back and recommended anyone else who reads this avoids them as well! I wonder why no one trusts these places.... read more

Not a fan. Too much to go into about the ruining of a rim. If you have 20" or bigger rims, go elsewhere....as they are clueless as how to manage them. But they did reimburse for the ruined rim....after a lot of arguing with people....manager included that the rim was not damaged when it was brought in. Thankfully, the surveillance tapes showed this. However, the other tire that was brought in to have a slow leak fixed....was not fixed (same visit). But Discount Tire in Merrillville, not only fixed the issue that Levin did not.....they did not charge to take care of the problem. Making us customers of Discount Tire for life. :D read more

If you're looking for an honest place to get repairs done, look no further than the team at Highland. Volkswagen had been telling me for a while that I needed to get my front brakes changed since there was apparently very little life left on them. Finally having the money to get the work done, I called over to get a quote for front brakes and an oil change - $530! My family and I had gotten work done at Levin before, so I called over there for a quote as well. It was going to be nearly $200 cheaper. I stopped in and since they were slow, so I was able to get in right away. Bryan came back out and told me that I had 90% life left on both the front and back brakes - so he saved me from getting majorly ripped off at VW! He recommended a few fluid changes that needed to be done, and since he had saved me money on the brakes, I was willing to get these along with my oil change. On the way over, my tire pressure light came on. Without even asking, I noticed that the guys in the shop had gone ahead and filled up the low tire for me. Horrible customer service and they damaged my tire while having a flat repaired on a Sunday. My tire is now ruined and will have to be replaced. The technician that removed the tire to fix a flat, damaged the side wall with the tire machine when removing the tire from the rim. I contacted them regarding the issue and they didn't do anything. They also damaged a friends mustang while it was being repaired at the Highland location. Horrible company! Would highly advise finding another shop for any type of repairs. read more

You never know how you will gain a customer! I guess being in the Community and going out for NEW business is not important to them. I went there on November 12th because they are less than 5 minutes from me. I told the gentleman that I needed air in my tire and "He sent me to the back to a closed door" What was hilarious was while I was back there, I noticed that there were all of these signs for everyone's private parking spaces. I guess the focus is on THEM and there is NO focus on providing Great Customer Service. I ended up going to Discount Tire where they provided me with EXCELLENT Customer Service. Obviously, Levin's Tire & Service Center does NOT need money to pay for ALL those people and their special assigned parking places. I initially became a loyal Levin customer in 2010 when Cheryl at the Crown Point location solved a huge tire problem that I had with my old truck. At that time, I badly needed a new set of tires - some of the inner threads on my truck tires were worn to exposure and it was thus dangerous to be driving the truck. I went to Discount which was next to my old office and with whom I had great experience previously when fixing flats. At Discount, I waited nearly 30 minutes in their lobby to be helped, was quoted a high price, and told I had to wait 1 week for the set due to their being a specialty set. After they did not even bother calling me after 7 days (to this day, I have no idea what happened to my tire set order), I called Cheryl at Levin's Crown Point location and she had me in a new set of a better quality, special tire type by the end of the next day at a reasonable price. From that day on, I was never going anywhere else for tires in Northwest Indiana. This morning I woke to a flat on my Mazda 6 that I purchased used 1.5 years ago. I drove to the Highland Levin location which was closest to my home after putting the spare on, and Chip helped me find a new set of top-of-the-line Goodyears with a $160 rebate, putting the high quality tire set at a very reasonable price. After pulling into the Highland Levin at about 9:30AM, I was out the door with a brand new set of tires and an alignment in WELL under 2 hours. With my lack of knowledge on cars and tire pricing overall, I'm always concerned with expense when it comes to auto repairs or tires - as anyone would. This morning though, Chip showed me my price options, didn't pressure me into one option or another, and ultimately helped me select what I believe is a great value for a fine product (finest available for my vehicle). There may be places to save a buck or two on a tire or a tire set, but Levin's customer service when it comes to tires is unmatched in Northwest Indiana. Although I'm confident I got a great deal today (4 brand new top of the line tires PLUS alignment for under $550 after rebate) - I'd be happy to pay a slightly higher price for their outstanding customer service and dependability. This is not the kind of place that is going to put you through the ringer and find all kinds of mysterious things wrong with your vehicle. Chip has always done his best to find a part within my budget and the labor charges are never astronomical. The most recent visit, the service technician, Ryan, was able to diagnose an issue that had been created by a sleazy repair shop that did put me through one of the experiences you would see on Dateline for getting ripped off. They didn't even do all that I asked them to do (something as simple as tightening up hoses to prevent leaks was not done). Very shoddy work. read more

I went to Levin with a flat tire during a storm. They didn't have our tire size in stock (we have an odd size), but they worked hard to find a nearby shop that was open on Sunday with our tire size in stock. They checked to see if our flat could be patched (it couldn't), then helped seal the flat so we could drive to another shop. Everyone was friendly and courteous. As we were about to leave, I went to the counter to settle the bill for checking the tire, helping with sealant, and locating tire. No charge. And service with a smile. 5 stars.
