She clearly does not remember our conversation and has not followed up on anything that was discussed. Meanwhile I am in constant pain with no follow up or help from the doctor or her staff. I am adding to this review to state that the medical assistant staff is probably one of the most incompetent I have come across. I unfortunately had to deal with this office again to obtain my xray information for a visit to a specialist. On the phone, I requested a CD of the xray and Blanca told me that she would make the CD and have it at the front desk for my pickup so I could take it with me to my appt. When I got to the office, 30 min prior to my visit, there was only a paper copy of the results and the office staff; including Blanca told me they don't make CD's. Completely frustrating encounter with this staff. I will never visit this office again.

Since transitioning to Dr. Shamala, my experience has been very disappointing. Appointments are booked several months out, which defeats the purpose of having a primary care provider. When you're sick, you need timely access--not a long wait that forces you to rely on urgent care visits, as I've had to do multiple times. When I asked about the delays, I was told there are simply too many patients. That response was concerning. It feels like the focus is on taking on more patients rather than properly caring for existing ones. During the one appointment I was able to get (scheduled three months in advance), I felt rushed, as if the priority was moving quickly to the next patient rather than providing thoughtful care. Maybe my previous doctor set a very high bar, but this experience has been frustrating and disappointing. Accessibility and patient relationship are fundamental to primary care, and unfortunately, that has not been my experience here.

After their visit, I spoke to them on the phone and they shared how hurtful and upsetting their visit was. Specifically, they shared that the way she communicated about their health not only felt unhelpful, but extremely hurtful. They felt judged and surprised when she suggested various recommendations for being overweight without asking any real questions about lifestyle, weight management throughout their life, successes, challenges, etc. She jumped to extreme solutions like a liquid diet and surgery, when overeating has never been something they have struggled with. They told me over the phone, pausing as they cried, "If I wasn't mentally stable, I would have left and killed myself." This was not something they had ever said before so wasn't them being dramatic - it was because their time with Dr. Borodulin was so painful. It was also shared that the Medical Assistant was extremely unprofessional, not saying anything when they came into the room to take BP and then yelling the numbers down the hall. I am a former Health Center manager, as well as a public health professional. I am also the wife of a physician. I understand patient care, the training physicians go through, and the responsibilities physicians have to their patients. Flippantly suggesting surgery without discussing previous challenges or success is absurd, as is suggesting a liquid diet for fast weight loss. I cannot stress enough what a terrible experience this provider created and would avoid seeing them at all costs.

I received no email or comms from my doctor, the management team nor was I given any guidance on next steps in switching doctors. This is unacceptable. I should have been proactively notified and should have been made aware of my options ASAP. I called and texted the office several times to speak to Dr. Gorman about my experience but did not receive a call back. Instead, I received an impersonal, cold and sterile letter a few days later notifying me that I needed to find another doctor. I would not recommend this practice to anyone given the sloppy nature of my situation was managed- it's completely unacceptable.

To be honest, when I first walked into her office, I was already looking for an excuse to cancel again. But once I spoke with her, I was really impressed with her knowledge and the way she explained everything, so I decided to keep my appointment. Today was my procedure at Silicon Valley Surgery Center, and I had such a great experience. The facility was clean, calm, and very nice. Every single person I interacted with was wonderful. From the front desk to Barbara, who helped review my paperwork everyone was kind and welcoming. My first nurse, Kay, was incredibly nice, knowledgeable, and professional. When she went on break, Nicole took over she was also amazing. I'm not a fan of needles at all, but she did my IV so gently and with so much care. Then Kat, the third nurse, took me to the procedure room she was kind, calm, and very professional. Dr. Michael Block, the anesthesiologist, was excellent. He actually texted me the night before to ask if I wanted to review everything ahead of time or on the day of the procedure, which I really appreciated. We exchanged a few messages, and then he spoke with me again before the procedure and explained everything clearly. He was confident, knowledgeable, and very reassuring. In the procedure room, I fell asleep within seconds and woke up quickly afterward feeling great. Within about 30 minutes, I felt completely fine. I was even able to take calls and respond to emails. And now, about Dr. Hobson ,she is truly a 10 out of 10. Honestly, the entire experience was 10 out of 10. From the office to the surgery center, every single nurse and staff member was exceptional.
