Ordered a custom pinky ring to match my two other pinky rings and was told it would take no more than five weeks. Six weeks later and after a litany of excuses, I was told the ring was ready. Went in to pick it up only to find out that the ring was incorrectly made and didn't match the other two rings. Did I mention they had one of the pinky rings in their possession for 6 weeks to match it? So what was I offered for waiting 6 weeks - a discount for the incorrectly made ring or they would refund my deposit. When I asked if they thought the ring could be made correctly, they said: (1) they didn't know what was going on with and didn't trust the current custom jewelry maker, (2) didn't trust the new jewelry maker because they haven't worked them yet, and (3) they were busy, hectic with moving offices. It's a family owned business that has been in Fresno for a while, and Tyson was a no-pressure and laid back type of salesman. He worked with what I was willing to spend and had the perfect match to what I was looking for. Really 0 stars My husband and I purchased our wedding rings from bridal ring center who is no longer in business 24 years ago. My mother passed away and I wanted to incorporate her wedding ring with mine so I replaced my center diamond with my mothers. My diamond has been appraised by bridal ring center and Warners jeweler. I had a nice diamond. Both my Mother's and my diamond was the same clarity but my mothers was a bit larger ( Lewis jewelry store checked clarity and size) so I had my Mother's diamond placed in my ring. This was 3 years ago. Today I go into Lewis jewelry store with my sister and we inquire about putting my original diamond ( the diamond that was removed from my wedding ring and replaced with my Mother's ring) into her setting. The lady who was helping us was very nice. She was going over all the options with us and checking the diamonds I had brought to incorporate. She confirmed it was real (of course) and we continue to go over options. Out of nowhere this very rude lady ( I believe to be one of the owners, younger lady with brown hair) came up and told the lady helping us that she can't tell the clarity without cleaning them and that they were "very dirty". Well maybe, the diamond has been tucked away in the plastic bag they put it in when they gave it back to me 3 years ago. Then the rude lady proceeded to take my diamond and look at it under the microscope and tells the nice lady that it is a CZ!! WHAT? I immediately tell her that 3 years ago they were the ones who switched that diamond out for the one I had on my finger. She looks up the receipt and conveniently enough there is nothing written about removing or replacing my diamond. It only states that they placed a new "head" on the ring. Of course I can't find my receipt from 3 years ago! The rude lady proceeded to tell the other salesmen while still standing in my view and where I can hear her that" I probably switched the diamonds myself so I could get a upgrade."! Really?? WOW, what a piece of work this lady is! I will NEVER recommend this business. This women/business is absolutely horrible! Sadly the grandfather worked very hard to build this business just for his granddaughter (who ever this woman is) to destroy it! You don't treat customers who spend thousands of dollars at your business like this. read more

What a wonderful job the sales team and jewelers have done with the my FIANCÉ!!! Juan had several options of jewelers to pick from, since we've moved to LA he had been checking in with several jewelers down there and never felt quiet as taken care of, listened to, and welcomed as he did in Fresno Jewelry Mart. Lewis Diamond Co. has been my go-to jewelers since back in the "Jewelry Mart" days. I've had my great-grandmother's wedding band repaired, I've had a necklace repaired, I've bought earrings (2) and pendants (3), I've had a loose diamond turned into an earring, and we're currently getting our anniversary rings from there. Mine is a 3 diamond ring (1.5ct tw) and my husband's is a platinum band. Retail these rings would be well over $9,000 together but we're paying around half that. The quality is phenomenal, the service is incredible and the selection is affordable. I wouldn't shop anywhere else. I went in to return a gift that was purchased here and possibly look around to exchange for something I liked better. Unfortunately upon walking in I was not even greeted. There were two women who sat at desks who glanced up at me and gave not so much as a smile. Finally a gentleman toward the back of the room came forward to help me. He was friendly which is why they got the second star. But I definitely felt prejudged like I didn't look rich enough or that I was not the sort of clientele they preferred. I took my ring in to be sized in May, last week the ring broke where they soldered it together. I took it back and they looked at it and said ok, it will be $100 to fix it. Now I paid $100 when I had it done the first time. I guess I was stupid enough to think that they would stand behind their work. So I told them to give me my ring and left. Took it to another jeweler and he told me that the solder was either bad or they might have gotten it too hot. I don't know, but for $40 they would fix it correctly. Well I'm not sure where to start, after 41 years of trying to surprise my wife with various gifts, this was a very special one for me and all I can say is I found the best jewelers and jewelry company to help me. I met Christie when stopping in to look at a new wedding set for my wife and she could not have been more helpful, she listened to the problem that my wife and I had with one of the biggest box store jewelers, never talking bad about them but offering her help in anyway to us. She also never pushed us in any way, but helped us learn how to understand about different designs, designers quality and overall purchase of a new wedding set. She let us know that the Lewis Diamond Co. has been family owned for three generations, that they have their own in-house jewelers and handled repair work in house. It was like meeting a kind and caring new friend that could handle our jewelry needs. Well I knew then Christie could help me with the special gift I was looking to replace, something maybe even more important than a new wedding set I was looking for, for my wife. It was 41 years ago, that at a FHS dance I asked my wife to "go steady with me" and being only 15 and a half, I did not yet have a class ring to give her, instead I gave her my ID bracelet that I wore at the time. It was nothing special but worked until I could do something different. That is just what Christie helped me do. Lisa and I have been married for 37 years this Valentines day, but we have been "going steady" since that dance 41 years ago, so replacing anything that started our steady life is very special to me, Christie and also with help from her husband Tyson and his crew of jewelers made that very special gift. My husband and I were looking for a local family company to purchase a new setting for my solitare diamond. Lewis was the first stop on a long list. Loni helped us. She was friendly, but as soon as I mentioned a halo setting, she explained that halo settings were difficult to set any stone in because it had to be the exact size. No other company after them had an issue with it. She explained that I would have to choose a setting that the head of the current ring I had could be switched out with. That reasoning, (which makes no sense) made the options very limited. She pointed out a setting she loved which I said was nice, but I didn't really show much interest in and then continued to push me toward it every chance she got. When I started Looking in the cases around the store commenting on the rings, she said that wasn't what she felt I would be interested in, apparently she would know better than I would so I thanked her and took our business elsewhere. read more

When making a purchase as large and important as an engagement ring, it is great to be able to work with a family owned business that has been around for many years and is a trusted resource. Lewis Diamond Co definitely goes above and beyond to help make the right selection and then they stand behind and provide great service the jewelry that they sell. I looked on a few websites for diamonds and rings thinking that was a way to save a few bucks, but after going into Lewis Diamond Co and meeting with Tyson he guided me through the process and was invaluable in educating me on what to look for (the 4 C's and more) and he steered me clear of any potential mistakes in selecting the right diamond and engagement ring. Tyson did not push to try to sell me the diamond or setting that they had in stock the first day that I went in, but he worked with me to bring in a good selection of diamonds that met the criteria of what I was looking to buy and then he went over each diamond in great detail with me.
