Luckily, I found it while cleaning, and my husband found The Diamond Gallery on Yelp. We were greeted by Brandon, who welcomed us with a level of warmth and genuine customer care. He was so friendly and welcoming. He inspected my ring within a minute with complete confidence, confirmed it my band is platinum with intact prongs, and explained they could set the loose diamond, tighten the prongs, reshape the band, and clean it for $35. I couldn't believe the pricing! I was quoted $500 at Orloff, but for only prong tightening (my diamonds were loose during that consultation). I got my ring back a few days later, and it looks absolutely flawless and I barely recognized it! It was stunning; I was so blown away by the quality of work and exceptional service that I voluntarily paid double his quoted price. I shared my experience and the incredible care I received with a few coworkers. One of them actually visited a jeweler recently and was thrilled--she said her engagement ring came back looking even better than when she first got it. My husband and I felt the same way about mine; it looked even more stunning than the day I first wore it. That's the magic of finding a master craftsman. Oh no! What could we improve?! Let's start here. I purchased a watch and wedding ring 7 years ago from the Diamond Gallery. Both have weathered daily wear well. Very happy with my purchase. I Left the watch and ring with them for a minor repair early in May. I told them I wanted to remove a link to resize the watchband and asked if they could refurbish the watch case. The ring was missing a tiny diamond chip. I needed the missing diamond chip replaced. June rolls around and so far I had heard nothing from anyone about any progress. 3 weeks pass before I got curious and impatient and decided to call to find out what was going on. Ken says "the diamonds are on back order and that the watch would be about $190 to repair. We didn't know if you wanted to spend that much to get the watch repaired so we didn't know what to do. Hmmm. Here's a novel idea. PICK UP A PHONE AND CALL ME ON THE NUMBER ON THE ESTIMATE! Jeez. Ask a question. You might just get an answer. It made me wonder how long my watch would have sat there if I hadn't bothered to call and check? I explained to Ken that yes, like the estimate says, repair the watch and resize the band by taking out a link. He asked if I wanted the crystal replaced. I say yes. It's not a super expensive watch but it has sentimental value and I wanted it completely repaired. Three more weeks pass and no news. No call. I call again. They say the store is closed for a week for vacation and they don't have any information on my watch or ring. But they will call me as soon as they are open again. Finally call me yesterday ( it's now mid July. It's been well over ten weeks since I dropped it off.) They ask, what are we supposed to do to the ring? I said it was supposed to get one of the diamonds replaced that is missing. He says "Oh. It looks like it's already been replaced. I guess you can pick it up tomorrow." Wife goes to pick up the watch and ring and they ask her, "Did he want the crystal replaced? It's got a couple of scratches in it." I told my wife to just pay for whatever they did and bring it home. I certainly didn't want to leave it with them again for another 10 weeks. She gets it home. I put it on only to find out they never took a link out to resize the band. Do I recommend them? Ha. This level of incompetence or complacency is really hard to find. I can understand a miscommunication. A mistake. This minor task was a train wreck from start to finish. The other funny thing? When I dropped the watch off, I asked the guy if they had a Citizen watch like mine except with a green dial face instead of the blue and he immediately said no no. I can check around but that would be pretty hard to find." As I was walking out the door, I looked to the left and in their watch display window I saw one sitting there with a green face. I just now decided to order it. On Amazon. The only assumption I can come up with, is that this is place must be just a storefront for laundering money. I can't imagine how they can stay in business with this level of customer service. I'm kidding of course, but yeah, I'm thinking I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

My husband had bought me a beautiful ring, but we decided it was finally time for a diamond upgrade. I called countless jewelers (both in Fresno and out of town), but everyone said, 1. It would be impossible to replace the stone to a bigger one because my setting was difficult to work with 2. First and foremost the Diamond Gallery was by far our most enjoyable engagement ring shopping experience. To set the scene, my boyfriend and I had been going to local jewelry stores looking at engagement ring settings for an heirloom diamond we were gifted. While other stores were perfectly pleasant and trustworthy I felt like we weren't taken seriously and their selection of simple solitaire settings was limited. This resulted in catalogs or offers of custom work which wasn't really reassuring. Initially we hadn't planned to go to the Diamond Gallery but it was around the corner from another shop and we thought, why not? OMG it was such a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived we were treated as serious customers and offered water and espresso (so special!) I explained to Ken, the owner, that we had our center stone and were looking for settings. (This is the point other stores seemed to be less interested in working with us which I get we aren't gonna be a huge sale but Ken was different!) He spent an exhaustive amount of time answering the million questions I had about everything under the sun AND they had a good selection of simple solitaire and slightly fancy solitaire settings. For me the whole point of shopping in person was to get my questions answered so we could make the best decision, and to see something on my hand that looks like what I'm picturing; both of which I was able to do at the Diamond Gallery. Ken went the extra mile to work up a price quote for us for my engagement ring setting utilizing lab grown diamonds in the detailing which was very important to us and a quote on my boyfriends band. The prices he gave us were not only more exact but also far less than other places in town and the setting I actually decided on had more diamond detailing than other settings I had previously gotten estimates for. While we both felt like this was the place and the rings we wanted Ken was respectful of our desire to give it a little thought and didn't try to hard sell us or pressure us into making a purchase today. As a result we both got in the car and immediately agreed that this was the perfect place to buy our rings. The feeling we had when we left was the exact feeling we wanted when making this decision and we will be back this week to order our rings. A friend referred me to The Diamond Gallery when my wife wanted to have some jewelry repaired. Over the years, my wife has taken several pieces of jewelry for repairs, and she has always gotten good advice, good repairs and good service. Recently, while we were there, my wife and I looked at some settings for her engagement diamond. We had looked at resetting her diamond at various places over the years, but never saw anything that my wife fell in love with. We asked Ryan if we could look at some settings, and he showed us the ones my wife liked the most. We we thought none of the settings was exactly right, then Ryan explained that he could have a setting custom made for my wife's diamond. He explained the entire process and the time it would take to make it. He also went over the materials (yellow gold vs white gold vs platinum) and the various diamond gradings. We agreed to the materials and diamonds and a delivery date. Ryan was very patient and informative. We really felt like he was talking to us like one of his family members. While we were waiting, I realized that my wife's birthday was coming up, and she would love to have her new setting for her birthday. I contacted Ryan, and he said he would make it happen. And He did! He also took care of resizing my wife's wedding band while her diamond was set into the new setting. Talk about service! My wife is thrilled with her ring and was overjoyed to show it off to her friends at her birthday party. Did I tell you that without even asking, he gave us a discount of several hundred dollars as a thank you for our first purchase?
