I hired Lexel Moving based on the good reviews on Yelp. The staff was extremely helpful and responsive. I was quoted about $475-$575 for 1 bedroom apartment, not including the $125 deposit. We were all good till every the final bill came of $1,300! This was almost 2.5x more than was I was quoted! The movers gave me some BS on "it took longer than expected". I gave Lexel all the items that needed to be moved. I paid $1,300 for less than a 10-mile move! I paid only $900 moving from NJ to Boston a little over a year ago. I kindly messaged Lexel on this issue that I wasn't happy about but was told that they will need to wait for the paperwork from the driver. Yet to hear back. The team arrived on time and started working immediately after browsing the stuff to pack. They were simply one of the best I ever met for moving. I had a lot of stuff even for two long containers to haul across the country and worried if they would not fit. They have completed 3 moved for me, 2 for my son and his fiancee ,one for my sister and one for my niece. In all those moves we only had one crushed lamp shade Ross is knowledgeable and available to make sure things are on schedule. The guys have ways been hard working and professional. The moving company and movers can be summarized in three words: inexperienced, unprepared, and unprofessional. The move was from Taunton, MA to a self-storage unit in Cincinnati, OH. Having worked with moving companies in the past, I am familiar with what experienced work looks like and these movers lacked organization, quality and speed. There was no strategy for how things were moved or unpacked and I found myself having to play that role. Also, the movers seemed to have little knowledge about how to stack furniture or lay mirrors. Finally, there was no sense of urgency - despite the movers trying to cut corners and save time (by not wanting to unpack things) they moved slowly. In terms of being prepared - the movers brought with them a single end dolly. Had there not been dollies in the storage facility - it is likely we could have been there hours while they moved everything by hand. Last but not least the movers were unprofessional and I will illustrate this with three examples 1) They asked my father and I to start unpacking - had we not unpacked and moved items we would have likely had to add an hour to our time there. This is not so bad except that while we did this one of the movers spent all of his time folding and stacking blankets. 2) The movers resisted our ask to unpack the mirrors and furniture multiple times - it wasn't until I provided your direct orders via text that they said that they would unpack them 3) They left a piece of furniture in the storage unit that was not mine. I personally would not feel comfortable using this moving company even if I was there to fully supervise. All the furniture arrived in 1 piece; nothing broke in the moving & unpacking process. read more

I have used them several times over the past year to move heavy equipment racks up some extremely narrow stairs and each time there was not a scratch on the racks or stair rails. Really good movers and handled a complicated move (multiple stops) very well. Called me the day before to confirm when they were arriving and offered a reasonable flat rate price. We had some minor damage to a couple of items, but they were very apologetic and promptly paid for a replacement. Alex Lendel, specifically, was very helpful throughout the move: from making sure all of our inventory was correct to dealing with the reimbursement. I am very happy that we chose to use Lexel and would recommend them in the future! EDIT: Not sure what Ross L. is referring to below me, as no "particle board" transported. This was our third time using Lexel as movers and every time they are superb! We had Yeisen and Jose this past move; those two honestly deserve awards! They had an awesome attitude, were outrageously friendly, and most of all, cranked our move out super fast! We had a little hiccup with the freight elevator in the new apartment and they pivoted flawlessly and still got the truck unloaded in about an hour which floored us! We were quoted $2,200-2,500 for a 100 mile move. This was the best price we could get with a last minute move so we booked this company. Somehow, they GROSSLY underestimated the time the move would take, and we ended up paying $5,500 in the end...for a one bedroom apartment. We were also charged ridiculous fees, including the travel time to and from the warehouse which they over-stated as an hour over the actual travel time it should have taken them (we were paying $400 an hour so that was just an extra $400 gone), and they taped up every single box and piece of furniture that we owned so much that it was near impossible to rip off...and we were charged for every roll of tape they used. By the way, they also used an entire roll of tape just to keep a door open. This company took advantage of us and nickel and dimed us for every little thing, and I would warn anyone who is looking to move in the Boston area to look elsewhere, because this company is a scam. read more

I haven't moved in 35 years and had to relocate my elderly Aunt. Was told many times that companies can't just give you a flat rate and can hike rates due to traffic time or mileage differences. Needless to say I was very skeptical. But I was very pleased with their on time arrival and quick loading There was an added charge for emissions but it was only $19 so was able to pay cash which gave me additional savings. Our move went incredibly smoothly, thanks to the hard work of Lexel's team. Nick and his crew were so efficient; the move took 2 hours less than we had anticipated. They made sure everything ended up exactly where we wanted it. I still can't believe the crew managed to move our enormous bookshelf without having to disassemble it - I've moved with that thing 8 times, and every single time it has had to come apart and get put back together, adding hours to the time necessary. They were very careful with all of our belongings, even the fragile and heavy items. They had to navigate up a fairly narrow stairwell and managed to do so without so much as a scuff on the paint. Doing a move to NYC, the pickup crew were efficient and Carlos in particular was helpful. EDIT: The experience I had with Lexel upon delivery of my furniture was so poor that I've been compelled to edit my review. Serge was the main mover who coordinated and facilitated the delivery of my furniture and the experience interacting with him was not pleasant at all. He and the crew refused to assemble a new bed of mine, despite my confirmation with the booking office that it was possible. To make matters worse, he was initially reluctant to even assemble the original bed that they moved, claiming he "did not have the tools." Keep in mind - disassembly and reassembly of all furniture is included with each move but the movers refused to honor this. The next day I was issued a $100 partial refund to the cost of my move to account for no assembly, but did not receive so much of an apology or admission of bad conduct from Ross, speaking to the poor customer service. I would not recommend Lexel for future movers. read more

The estimate on the quote stays the same fee in the end but will be discounted if pay in cash. Several days before moving and and aftermath there are reps calling and I feel they are professional. This was the first time my wife and I used a moving company to move from the Boston area to Brooklyn. The furniture pick-up crew arrived exactly on-time (!) and did a quick, careful and efficient job loading the truck with all of our belongings. They paid attention to our fragile items, disassembled our bed frame -- they even removed the TV mount from the wall, saving me some time -- and were very friendly throughout the afternoon. On the delivery end, a different crew arrived in Brooklyn (again, on-time) and carefully unloaded the truck and placed items in corresponding areas for easy unpacking. Setting up my move was easy and the move itself went amazingly well until I received my bill. I was charged WAY more than my original quote, almost a $250 difference, even after asking MULTIPLE times and being reassured MULTIPLE times that the estimate included all taxes and fees. They did a small move for me (studio/one bedroom) very efficient and amicable. 2 guys did the work, they were very quick and helpful, asked me where to put each boxes when moving in, removing the protection from the mattress... The issue is that they got stuck in traffic when coming to my place so the price can quickly go up if you are moving during traffic pic hours...For actually 45 minutes of actually charging/decharging, you can pay to 3 hours or more. Based on the impressive packing and moving services from Lexel I felt compelled to write a review sharing my experience. Thank you Pedro for your positivity and professionalism! I would not hesitate to use Lexel again. Before the move: Alex was very responsive and answered all of my (many) questions throughout the whole quote estimate process. The pricing structure was simple and transparent. I opted for full packing services for a long-distance move. --Packing/loading day: Pedro and his crew packed my entire apartment thoroughly and with care, using appropriate box types based on the contents. --Delivery day: Pedro and his crew tackled an extremely difficult delivery (3rd floor walkup with very tight hallways and doors) again with professionalism and no complaints, even though the narrow spaces were very difficult and made the job last longer than anticipated. They also made furniture reassembly (table and Ikea bedframe) look like a piece of cake compared to what I would have done. --The final cost came out to be basically the quoted price - no surprises. I reached out to about 7 other moving services and no one was able to match Lexel's quote in terms of amount and simplicity/predictability. --Follow-up: I appreciated that Christina called proactively to ask how the move went. Some advice for future customers: (1) Budget extra time - the job took significantly more time than the estimated 3-hour time window on both days even though I was very detailed in my initial Inventory list. This is understandable given the full packing service I opted for, my tricky delivery apartment space, and all the guesswork that goes into the time estimates. (2) Be prepared - read the company policy and fine print to understand what you're on the hook for moving yourself ahead of time. We would not recommend Lexel Moving. Movers were suppose to arrive between 12-3 for pickup in Boston for move in to New York next day. 3:30pm, we are told they are delayed and will come at 6:00pm. It is now 6:30 pm and we have not heard from the movers. We made multiple calls for updates. We have not heard back. Phone is either busy or goes to voicemail. Unclear if prior reviews are real or not. Unreliable service does not match raving reviews. AVOID and look for other movers. Update-1 It is now 710pm, still have not heard from Lexel. Looking for another mover to help out last minute. Update- 2 8pm- finally someone called who said they will come at 9-9:30pm. Unbelievable! 9 hours after the contractual time...we ultimately found other moving company who is available. read more

An unexpected circumstance made it so I wasn't able to be in NYC for the pickup for my NYC to South Shore move. Got quotes from a few Boston-based as well as NYC-based companies. Lexel was the most responsive and competitive quote - considering my move consisted of packed boxes/totes, 2 bicycles and 5 pieces of furniture (office chair, locker, loveseat and two arm chairs). Other quotes priced it as if I was moving a studio apartment full of furniture. The move went really well. My sister met the movers at my apartment in Midtown and the movers made short work of moving and loading the truck. They even offered to handle the meter which I was expecting to have to handle myself. Also to be noted, they provided a COI quickly after it was requested. And then revised it after my landlord requested changes. Not only that, they were able to handle moving the furniture that I was leaving in the apartment down to the basement. This was a last minute change that had a reasonable fee attached due to it not being originally quoted because the landlord originally said that I could leave the unwanted furniture in the apartment. But like in Empire Strikes Back, I had to pray that they weren't going to modify the deal further. Great experience and will definitely use Lexel when we move next time. read more
