When I was buying the dress, I was told that it would be impossible to remove the train while maintaining the shape of the dress, so I had resigned myself to needing to add a bustle and would just wear it bustled the whole time. When I told Marya what I hoped for, she didn't blink an eye before saying she could remove the train and keep it even all the way around. When she showed me the dress to approve at my second appointment, I was truly speechless. It looked like it was designed that way and looked even better than I could have imagined. So already, she was a true wizard to me, but I ended up using her again to add a lining to another dress I bought for the courthouse, which I loved but had an inner bodysuit that was totally visible through the white fabric. She took out the bodysuit and added a lining so it was not only beautiful, but also way more comfortable to wear. She is an absolute magician, so professional and so incredibly talented. Unfortunately, due to the holidays they were low on stock and none were to my liking. But, I noticed they had a bar upstairs. Since I wasn't able to spend time hunting for a hat, I had time for a beer. Typically, I search for breweries, but in this case I opted for a beer. This one did not disappoint me. I am a Guinness fan, but 99% of the pubs stores their kegs next to the others beers. To me that is a no-no. I am not interested in drinking frozen beers which kill my taste buds. But then I heard the owner prefers the drink at a warmer level. Here, they actually store the keg in a different location. The pour allowed me to sip the black stuff within a minutes time after it settled. Wow I'm impressed. As for the place, it is a bit more pricey than the burbs, but not astronomical as some may think. If you arrive by car, street parking is sparse, but there are some spots available. The inside is quaint, but has all the space needed. I walked in and was instructed to go in the back. I was a bit confused, because I didn't communicate what I needed and there was already a customer in the rear. In the back cubby hole, it's the sewing station to the left, the fitting room in front of you and a storage room to the right. I entered the fitting room, put on the pants I wanted hemmed and the owner put one pin in the right leg. By the time I took the pants off and went to the counter to checkout, the pin came out. I had to go and put the pants back on for him to put only two pins on the same side. When I was ready to check out, the cashier took my information and stated I could pay now or at pick up. My hemming was $30 and if I used a card, there was an additional $5 fee. My pants were slated to be ready in 2 business days but they were ready the next day. All in all, Nicky's has been around for a long time based on the pictures inside of the tailor shop. I think his approach to his work and the overall quality has gotten too lax and comfortable.
