So cute! My best friend and I have a tradition of going to afternoon tea for our birthdays, and this spot was perfect for our celebration! We loved the selection of teas, sandwiches, and desserts -- and especially appreciated that the scones came with clotted cream (a must!). Our server was kind, and it was easy to make a reservation. We also loved that our table was ready for us right when we arrived. The space is beautifully decorated -- we adored the pinks, florals, and all the girly touches. Fabulous space! Cute without being too cutesy. No pressure felt to don a hat or otherwise be girly. Thoughtful decor with a touch of elegance - even the bathroom is decked out. Tea choices were diverse and I highly recommend the A's Blend. Yummy and perfect with just a touch of milk. Sandwich choices were excellent - the egg salad and the smoked salmon particularly delivered. Service was excellent and attentive. Reservations preferred. read more

This is the most prettiest and girliest tea room I've been to. I'm from Denver CO and in KY to see family, when I saw this trending spot I had to make a quick stop! I took my mom and dad and we really had a great time! The food was good and the scones and desserts were also good! I had the bourbon tea, it had a nice vanilla taste to it. My mom enjoyed her chocolate tea and my dad enjoyed his green tea. The atmosphere was very pretty in pink and I love the color pink! For those that like/love tea, keep in mind that if you make a reservation you "Have to Get" the afternoon teas (tower set) even if you just want À la carte. I booked a reservation thinking we can pick one thing off the menu and we weren't allowed too. That option was only for (walk in's). The only thing I would recommend for Tea & Brie to change are their basic little blue teapots. They stood out like a sore thumb; should be replaced with a much more fancier tea pot (to add too) the interior decor even more. read more

I selected cucumber, prosciutto & Brie, and strawberry/cream cheese. Scone of the day was blueberry great match with the lemon spread. Made a reservation for me and my sister to come on a Friday around 11. We were the first customers but it filled up quickly. It seems that reservations are preferred but there were at least two tables that came in after us that were sat without one. The space is stunning, lots of floral notes with pinks, green, and gold. Perfect for a girl's day or a bridal event I think. You can order 3 sandwiches, you get 2 scones, and you can choose the dessert. We also ordered tea--I got the Serenity, which was a lovely tea. The cucumber sandwich was my favorite and the blueberry scones was tasty too. Although we had a good experience and enjoyed the insta-ready ambiance, the product knowledge seemed to be lacking a bit with the staff. But I assume it's an issue of newness and it'll be worked out soon. Overall I love this new edition to Lexington and I would suggest more work on that and some other service touches like pouring the first cup of tea to seal the deal. read more

One of the things I love most is the ability to select your own tea sandwiches rather than being locked into a prix fixe menu. It's perfect for those who want to customize their experience--or sample something new. And trust me, the sandwiches are so good, I've never left without ordering extra. My friends and (All teenagers), came here thinking it would be a cute tea spot to take pictures and enjoy ourselves. At first, everything was great we enjoyed our food and had a nice conversation. When it came time to pay, my friends paid with card and each left an $8 tip. I paid with cash and asked for my change back, since leaving a $20 tip wasn't feasible. While my friend stepped away to the bathroom, I stayed at the table and planned to leave my cash tip once she returned and we were ready to leave. During that time, our waitress, Star, came to collect the checks, noticed that my cash tip was not yet on the table, and loudly said things like "how f***ing rude" and "where is my tip," using foul language as she walked away. This happened despite the fact that my friends had already tipped generously and I was clearly still seated and in the process of paying. I have never experienced this level of disrespect from a server. Being spoken to this way especially as a teenager was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. Unfortunately, this interaction completely overshadowed what had been an enjoyable visit. I would not recommend this place if you are looking for respectful and courteous customer service. read more

I've been waiting to write a review of my experience so I can be fair. I've done a lot of afternoon teas. I am really happy we have this place, but it's definitely style over substance. I love that you can pick sandwiches (olive nut was very good). But the scone was too small for there to be just one. It was also cold and HARD, like made sand on my plate. They should be served warm. The desserts were good-ish. But the macaron was the worst I've ever had. There was zero crisp to the shells, it was like a bite of goo. All 3 in my party agreed. Everything is really cute and the service is great. I would definitely go back. My biggest gripe is the menu is NOT clear, you don't get to choose a flavored scone or desserts, and from photos on instagram, it seems the desserts and menu doesn't change often (such as the lemon square - I am not a huge fan of lemon, so for it to always be there is meh). I really think this place should add a scone (plain) to offset their random flavored scone. I also think posting a menu of these flavors/desserts monthly or quarterly would be nice. It prevented me from booking. It's hard to book bc there's like no space, and it's cute, so if you want this for a fun event, book way out. ALSO, I think adding Fayette cream to the menu with scones would help soften locals and help drown out any less favored flavors (for the old green tree people iykyk)! TLDR: pretty good, great service, very cute, slight improvements needed on food quality and menu transparency. read more

We were so happy they were willing to box up some afternoon teas to go for us. We were able to have them at the ready when the mood struck and enjoyed them on the porch at the place we were staying. So absolutely adorable! Great addition to the downtown area and a super cute place to spend an afternoon with friends. The interior is well designed with gorgeous wallpaper, abundant florals, and great art. Be sure to check out the restroom! The food is elegantly served on beautiful tiered trays. You are presented with three different finger sandwiches, a scone, and three different sweets - everything I tried was delicious. Service was wonderful and attentive. This is such a fun and adorable place! The front door is adorned with colorful flowers, and it feels exciting to walk in. The interior is bright and colorful and extravagant, with peacock wallpaper, plenty of flowers, and beautiful tea sets. It was a wonderful place for a girls' tea together. I especially loved how well-appointed the bathroom was, with its own noise-muffling soundtrack. The tea was delicious- I would highly recommend the Southern Pecan and the A's Blend, which we learned was the tea used in the Boston Tea Party. The food was amazing; I appreciated that each person could choose 3 types of tea sandwiches. I picked olive nut, smoked salmon, and prosciutto/brie. The Brie was the best, but they were all perfectly-crafted. The scones with clotted cream were on point, and the macarons and mousses were decadent and beautiful. It was a great place for an afternoon snack, but it wasn't enough for a meal. My friends and I loved our time there, and it was only marred by the fact that it truly seemed like our server hated us. There were 5 of us, and it was our first time, so we had a lot of questions at first, so maybe we overwhelmed her, but she seemed surprisingly angry with us. She said no to our requests for things like more water or an extra utensil. Another server took pity on us and brought us some things behind our server's back, but ours was so rude it was almost unbelievable. The cutest tea room in Lexington! This space truly feels like you just stepped into Paris. The space is absolutely beautiful! The owner, Liz, has done an immaculate job at creating this little piece of heaven in downtown Lexington! I love the reservation feature so you know you'll have a table when you walk in with a reservation. The sandwiches, tea, and pastries were absolutely phenomenal! My favorite was the Green Tea, Blueberry Scone with Lemon Curd, Chicken Salad (which is made in house), and the Lemon Bar. Everything is perfect from the space to the food. Highly recommend! She also books for parties - baby showers, bridal showers, work parties etc. All around, exactly what Lexington needed! read more

Small interior with very cute decor. As others have noted this is a place to go for a snack not a meal. For $30 you receive 3 tea sandwiches, a pot of tea, a scone and 3 miniature desserts. The cucumber sandwich was lovely, the pimento cheese fair, and the Brie and prosciutto lacking --with 1 slice of prosciutto and an apple slice larger than the two named ingredients, it didn't taste like much. The desserts were the tastiest part of the food. Although there were only 3 tables with customers, the service was very slow and the server was not attentive. The owner came out of the back at the end of our visit and was very personable. read more
