Lexi's is easily the best deli in Columbus. You can tell they care about quality, and definitely believe in large portion sizes. Their club sandwich (my personal favorite) is awesome, and so is their enormous corned beef sandwich if you have a big appetite. If you're in the mood for soup, you can't go wrong with their chicken noodle matzo ball soup, though they usually have really good soup of the day options. They have a ton of selections on their menu from traditional deli items, to tons of salads, to burgers and melts, which have all been top notch. It's located in Chase Tower downtown, and gets a sizable business crowd -- especially during the lunch rush. I wanted something different and was a little late for work so they were open. I usually get to work before 7 so my breakfast options are few. Seems like pretty many options and the food was good. My only real observation is it's not fast. I would think on that corner it would cater to people on their way to work and have it more streamlined. Okay I may be going a bit too far, but seriously I wolfed this sandwich down, it was amazing! You walk into Lexi's and it appears to be the chosen deli for the corporate world. I ordered the Turkey Reuben per advice from the waitress AND they even gave a me a pickle, which really tops any sandwich off in my opinion. It came on rye bread and the thousand island on the side. I wish they did offer a side such as chips, apple, etc. But the sandwich won't leave you hungry since I had to actually mash it down a bit in order to take a bite! They offer an array of sandwiches, salads, soups, and burgers all made to order and changed up if your heart desires. Best turkey rueben in Cbus. For real. I really want to try everything else on the menu because it all looks so delish, but that damn rueben calls my name every time... I love that every deli sandwich can come with chips, potato salad, macaroni salad, side salad, fruit or a cookie. Plenty of options to complement one's lunch of choice. I've not eaten here yet, as I'm usually grabbing something to go so I can eat in solace at my desk while cranking on work, but the outdoor seating area seems lovely... though I wonder how crowded it can get, because this place gets SLAMMED around 12:15. Decided to give Lexi's a try. It's a nice clean and well decorated cafe with a nice outside eating area. The experience was fine and staff was helpful. You order your meal at the register, take a number and the food will be delivered to your table. We had asked where they sourced their meat and at first the gal at the register didn't know and seemed eager enough to leave it at that. We then pressed to speak to someone who could tell us. The owner / manager came by to talk with us. Seems like they get their burger beef from GFS and not from local farms. Strike one. We stuck with our order, however. I ordered the burger with sweet potato fries. I don't eat bread, so I dig into it with my knife and fork. It was cooked well enough (too well for my tastes), but it tasted more like ham than fine ground beef. That ranks as a poor burger in my book. Now, I've been eating a lot of grass-fed beef of late, so my tastes have changed. Strike two. Another strike came as the onion rings my fiance ordered didn't make it to the table. The server said she would check, and then the gal who took our order came out. She told us that she forgot the onion rings and placed the order. As she told us they should be out in a couple minutes she then told us that we owed $2.50 as she didn't charge us for them at the register. So she remembered we asked for onion rings, didn't ring them up, and then came out to apologize to then hit us with the bill for her mistake. Strike three. I was quite excited when the buzz started about Lexi's opening. It's so nice to have a new downtown lunch spot. Each time I've been for lunch the sandwiches have been good. Nothing monumental, but great for the basics like a BLT. The sweet potato fries are pretty tasty as well. Perhaps the best thing about Lexi's is the patio. It's the perfect place to enjoy your lunch break with a side of fresh air. After each visit I walk away impressed by the staff. Everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful. Had one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life at this place. I ordered corned beef hash with sunny side up eggs, toast, and a side of bacon. After waiting for over twenty minutes with only a couple other people in the restaurant, I finally went up and asked about my food. Nobody seemed to know what was going on in the kitchen. Finally I was handed a plate with the hash and eggs that were barely cooked. Yellow, runny and totally inedible. No toast, no bacon. I told them the eggs were raw and I just wanted my money back. No apologies from the staff or any real interaction whatsoever. Total waste of time. This place is a joke. I'll never go back. read more

Just stopped by Lexi's for a quick Monday lunch and was satisfied, though not overjoyed, but my experience. The restaurant itself is spacious and comfortable, with a large but not-objectionable tv in the back and comfortable tables and chairs. The staff was helpful (if a touch annoying, from a personality standpoint). The atmosphere was like a nice food court, for whatever that's worth. My pastrami reuben was tasty. I thought the meet was very good, warm with a crunch exterior, and seasoned nicely. I had the "slim" version of the sandwich, and it was enormous. I question what human needs the "regular" version. The bread was buttered and griddled, but it got a bit soggy on the bottom. My pickle was large. My only real complaint is the price - for $11.50, I'd expect more than a good sandwich, bag of chips, and drink. I don't think Lexi's is 50% better than man of the surrounding restaurants (Milo's in the Statehouse, for example), yet their prices make that claim. I'd come back to Lexi's because I like variety in my lunchtime spots, but I'll continue to frown at the price every time, I imagine. Bottom line: a tasty but overpriced lunch spot. read more

I came to Lexi's for a lunch meeting yesterday. Honestly, I've never explored the downtown dining scene too much since most of the restaurants are closed before five pm and on the weekends. I was happy to take a swing down there and check things out. When I came into Lexi's it was square in the middle of the busy lunch rush, but no one seemed too harried about it, especially the staff. They were very friendly and relaxed as I took maybe a beat too long to order. It's a fast casual place where you order at the counter and the food can be picked up or brought to your table. The cashier explained things to me and took my order patiently. I decided on the turkey burger with sweet potato fries. It came out very quickly, in less than 10 minutes. It was a standard burger with no bells and whistles, which isn't a bad thing! The toppings were fresh and delicious and the bun was soft. The fries were decent, maybe not the best sweet potato fries I've ever had. They came with a sweet cinnamon dipping sauce that didn't care for. It tasted like fruit dip to me. The space is also a nice little find, right on the corner of Broad and 3rd across the street from the Statehouse and Dispatch. Great patio space as well, but it was too chilly to eat outside. Overall, I was really impressed by the speed and quality of service here. The lunch rush can be a crazy time but all customers were served quickly and well. Definitely a good option for a weekday lunch if you're in the area! read more

This was my first eating experience in all of Ohio. And i'd say it was a pretty damn good one. Before going to Ohio, one of the things I kept hearing "is that people are really nice over there", lo and behold, they were not lying! I ordered a cheeseburger and fries, for a pretty fair price, with great customer service (especially when i awkwardly come in hella soon to closing). It was fresh tasting burger, with good fries. Deli selections on the menu. Fast food style ordering. Huge portions. I just went here for the first time. The location is convenient for a lot of downtown businesses, and the ordering style is speedy and reminiscent of a fast food joint--order first from a menu behind the counter, and the food is brought to your table. The selection of food was pretty expected: deli sandwiches, soups, salads. It's all pretty customizable--one of those places where you can specify nearly every portion of the meal to suit your tastes. Portions are enormous for the price you pay, and you can leave on a full stomach for about $8. Service was very good but a mostly negligible part of the whole experience. Personally, my sandwich was just okay, and my salad was average. My boyfriend loved his chicken Cobb salad and his fruit plate. read more

I've been going to Lexi's for awhile now. It is a place to get lunch if you are downtown on a weekday. Lexi's is solid. Their food is nothing flashy, but it is good, and consistent. Once you find something you like, you can order it and be sure you are getting what you expect. Service is generally good, they have enough staff to take orders, however I have had some experiences where they don't know what happened to the order, but they are quick to correct the mistake. I've probably ordered about 100 berry salads, chicken added, with balsamic vinaigrette. It is a perfect lunch for me. Sandwiches are good, but be aware that for some you need to specify if you want lettuce, onion, tomato, etc. Otherwise you will just get a sandwich that is bread and meat. Sides are super cheap and you get a lot. If you and your friends/coworkers are ordering together, one order or fries can feed 2 or 3 people. Breakfast is good too, you get your money's worth. read more

Everything is homemade here and absolutely delicious! I like to stop here after a workout at the Athletic Club. Right next door. I also love that they're open a little later after the work crowd goes home (and they have the bar to supplement it). You don't get that much in this area. Great option for Downtowners looking for breakfast, lunch, or happy hour. And when it's nice out, holy patio. Tons of space and a gorgeous view of the statehouse. Guys guys guys. I've been patronizing Lexi's since I started working downtown a couple of years ago. These guys are just consistently great. Number one, you see the same staff every time you go in, which I think speaks highly for an establishment--a low rate of turnover. Number two, you get quality food every time you go. Even on days they are crazy busy, they are built to handle it. Fresh, tasty food, and you never have to wait an unreasonable amount of time for it. I got a BLT today and it was soooo good and crispy. No soggy bread, thank you very much. If you're downtown and you don't want to wonder if your food is going to be good, or if the service is going to be prompt & friendly, head to Lexi's. This place is right next to the downtown Chase building. The service is fast, it's relatively cheap, and its everything you'd want from a deli. Just remember, if you've never been here, ask for a detailed menu. The menu board behind the register don't list the ingredients. So don't be like me, who panic-ordered because I didn't know what sandwich had what ingredients (ended up ordering the Hungry Bavarian - warm layers of thin ham, provolone cheese, on a toasted pretzel bun.) read more

So I've been eating at Lexi's at least once a week since they opened last year and again today. My office is just across the street from the Chase building, so I'm here out of sheer convenience more than anything else. Overall the food is fine. It's yet another deli place in the Gay Street corridor of downtown (seriously, this neighborhood is overrun with cafes and deli-type places and desperately needs a Chinese place a la Happy Dragon). I have an easy enough time ordering here with my food allergies, but am mostly limited to salads so unless I feel like eating a big bowl of lettuce, I don't come here. I hear great things about the sandwiches and sweet potato fries, but haven't been able either one due to my gluten allergy and lack of true gluten-free options at this place. As far as the service, it's fine. The staff is generally very friendly and helpfful. Though, if you come here anywhere close to noon, I would definitely call ahead instead of waiting for your takeout order. I've waited for 45 minutes for my food in the past. I would also check your order for accuracy. I generally get a Cobb salad and am always wondering what exactly I'm going to find in my salad. Sometimes that will just be a bowl of lettuce and some bits of bacon. Today it appears that they made me a Cobb/Chef Salad hybrid of sorts. The restaurant itself is clean, large, and has ample seating. It does get a little loud in here during the lunch rush, so if you come here for a meeting it might be hard to really talk . They do,however, have a really nice big patio right on Broad Street. In closing, it's a solid choice for a quick salad or sandwich if you work in the neighborhood. I have been coming here in the morning for the past week or so and it was one of the first restaurants in Columbus that I chose to come to. The workers are very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I usually get breakfast, I have eaten the trifecta (French toast or pancakes with eggs and a choice of meat, bacon or sausage) and I have not been disappointed either time. The food portions are also great and the prices are very reasonable. I have also had the clevelander which is eggs, home fries, toast and corn beef which was delicious and I had the Lexi's special which is eggs, home fries, toast and a choice of meat. All of the food portions were wonderful and I will continue to come here each morning and have my daily cup of coffee and grabbing a bite to eat. I recommend any one with time to come check it out, you won't be disappointed! read more

Stopped by here for a later lunch (1:30-ish) on a Friday. There were a few other patrons in line and one or two tables occupied so it looks like they do a decent lunch business. I bet it is crowded during the noon rush so be forewarned. I ordered the "Love Connection" - your choice of two meats on rye with swiss and slaw. I ordered mine with pastrami and corned beef. Sandwich was stacked high and quite tasty. With a pickle and a coke (they have Dr. Brown's!) my total was around $13 so it is not a cheap lunch but definitely filling. Like I said the sandwich was great but unfortunately Lexi's suffers on a couple points. For a place that does mostly carry-out lunch, they were quite slow. It was a solid 10 minute wait for my sandwich. I understand this is a made to order, fresh sandwich but 10 minutes seems a little long. Also, while this is a good sandwich but there is a better one available less than a mile way in German Village. Lexi's does a good job but if you really want NY-style deli sandwich then head to Katzinger's. That said I won't hesitate to give Lexi's another shot if I'm craving pastrami and can't make it down to German Village. read more

While in a pickle (pun intended) to find a different and exciting lunch spot, my colleagues and I stumbled upon Lexi's on Third, and, what a find! I love a traditional deli, and their pastrami was just the perfect combination of salty, sweet and spicy! Paired with a pickle and potato salad, I am set. Needless to say, I am a fan. Their location was easily accessible and we found metered parking almost instantly. Granted, we arrived around 11:30am, which I recommend you arrive earlier than noon-ish. I went in this morning and ordered a simple, plain bagel with cream cheese - not toasted. A typically fast, uncompilcated order. They were slow - only 2 other customers. After 9 minutes of standing there waiting, I walked up to the counter, The counter guy looks at me and goes to the kitchen and has to tell them again that he needs my bagel. The guys then throws a bagel in the toaster. I had to get to work so I left. I've always found the food to be decent here, but the service just stinks. read more

For a first time, grab a menus & step back a second. There are so many items that sound so good! The burgers are a portioned size, but it's a generous portion. Sides for miles, fries, sweet potato fries, potato salad, mac salad, egg salad, then the list of Salads... Great food, excellent speed & for the amount of turn over, very clean. Just wanted to compliment Lexi on my amazing late lunch. I had meetings all afternoon and the only downtown establishment that I could find open at 255 pm was Lexi. I asked the manager when they closed...he looked at his watch "5 minutes, don't worry about it...". So I ordered the turkey reuben and Cajun fries and as usual, they were amazing. In my opinion, Lexi's is the best meal in downtown Columbus. I have been coming for years and they have never disappointed. What a way to start the new year! I had never been to this restaurant before mostly because it's downtown and I used to never be downtown but now that I work downtown I see a lot of other eateries to experience. I ordered a double burger with cheese and fries and had a religious experience the double burger is amazing and might I add if you don't like meat dont order it, but I'm a meatatarian so I did. Great atmosphere and food; the fries are so awesome.
