Update. I revisited LFG 5 months later. This time, we got chicken tenders, 2 burgers, regular fries, loaded fries, lettuce wraps, chicken sandwich(slay bird), and a hot dog(street king). Tenders were fine, slightly burnt breading. The burgers were smaller than I remember, very dry, and preformed to resemble a frozen lunchroom patty. Fries were fine, but not as good as last time. Loaded fries had chili, sour cream and fried onions, but the dark chili really took over the flavor. Slay bird was good, my daughter really enjoyed it. It's was only the size of a chicken tender and cost $14, but it taste good. The chicken on the lettuce wraps weren't great. Chicken was dry and they mixed in green peppers and celery for some reason. They gave me the wrong hot dog. I was supposed to get a regular dog with ketchup, mustard, and relish. They gave me a chili dog with that dark chili. I know this is a local business, but I'm just not a fan. I probably won't give it a 3rd try. I stand by my original review. read more

Pros: We went there Saturday dinner time. They were not busy and we didn't have to wait. We had Big Flex with Truffle fries and Smash Hit with Carne Asada fries. Food was good and service was good. Place was clean and well decorated for the season. Very casual. Cons: Metal chairs with no cushions.... They were not comfortable. We did not like the music they had on. Maybe, something more family friendly music? It was pricey. Two combos with fountain drinks for over $50, but I understand that's because they are organic, locally sourced, and special brand of beef. Smaller place that I have some mixed feelings on, but overall worth a try. I think they're overusing some current buzz words like "beef tallow" and "wagyu" everything. I'm of the opinion that wagyu doesn't really make sense to make a burger out of, but what do I know. The burger was filling but should be a bit cheaper my combo was 18$ and then upgrading to truffle fries didn't seem to be any cheaper than ordering them a la carte, so I believe I got overcharged. I wished for a big more truffle flavor, seems that they just drip some truffle oil and put some seasonings on top. For $27+ for a single meal, I was left wanting a bit more. Staff was kind and courteous, and the inside was clean, and I appreciate them having some "local" sodas on tap. Id give their chicken another try but not in a rush for sure. read more

We enjoyed our first visit for a smash hit burger and fries. I would say it's on the high side of 3 but not feeling convinced enough to give it a 4. We experienced very welcoming staff upon entry. The best part was that we didn't feel like we just ate a greasy burger and fries; the beef tallow fried French fries were was "clean" and filling. We had both plain and truffle fries, I preferred plain but I'm not easily swayed with truffle flavored anything. Decor was simple and seating sufficient for in-and-out dining. Menu offers more than just wagyu beef dishes (chicken, slaw, salad, soup). The awkward part is that it focuses on the local part, but pinpointing where these wagyu cattle are coming from is a bit of a mystery to many in South Lyon / New Hudson. Absolute fail! The chicken tenders were dry/over cooked, cheeseburger was small, Chicken Slay sandwich was supposed to have hot honey but it tasted more like sweet and sour sauce, and the fries tasted like they were thawed and cooked a day ago and just reheated to be served to my family. Now to the portion size, abysmal! $18 for a chicken sandwich that (size wise) was on par with Chick-fil-A, though it lacked the flavor or value of the aforementioned establishment. The cheese burger was tiny and kind of sad, the bun looked like it came from Kroger. And $12 for the half order of carne asada fries, what a joke. Three slices of pickled jalapeño, maybe 1 oz of carne asada and a pool of cold congealed queso soaking the depressing few fries. $68 for 1 chicken sandwich, 1 half order of carne asada fries, a chicken tender combo and a cheeseburger combo. My family used to come here all the time and spent a lot of money because the food was always so good! It wasn't cheap, but we didn't care because it was worth it, and we recommended it to everyone we knew. The place itself is really cute and clean inside, and it has a nice atmosphere! Unfortunately, the last few times I've had it, the experience has been really disappointing. I've DoorDashed once, and I also picked it up for carry out another time. And on a previous visit before that, we did a carry out order for my whole family, and my Smashburger didn't even have half the correct toppings on it and just wasn't what I ordered, which added to the frustration of the overall experience! For my DoorDash Order, I got the truffle goat fries and they were literally so dark, hard, salty, and just overall disgusting. For my recent carry out order, I ordered a Chili Dog with truffle fries and the fries were so salty you couldn't even eat them, I had to throw them all away. The chili dog was also disappointing, the chili tasted off and the hot dog itself was burnt and hard and tasted like it literally was sitting out all day. Yes, we did go about an hour before closing, but it still shouldn't have tasted like that. On top of that, the service during pickup felt very rude, and it's just not been a good experience recently. I did dine in recently about 2 months ago, and it was completely different, the food was amazing. The gentleman working had such a great attitude and was very friendly to my dad and I. I think it might've been him, because everything that visit was so great, he was awesome I wish I had gotten his name! I really think it just depends on who's working, because the experience can either be really good or really bad. I really hope this place gets better because I want it to be one of the best restaurants in South Lyon. This area really needs a good spot like this, but it's not going to last if they keep putting out bad food for carry out/ Doordash and providing rude service. I honestly didn't want to leave a negative review because I try to give places the benefit of the doubt, but this has been going on for so long now. I do recommend dining in though, because that's when I've had the best food from there! When the food is good, it's really good, and they also have amazing shakes. I've had really good experiences dining in before, it felt welcoming and the service was attentive, but I have noticed that some of the newer employees can come off as a bit rude, which has made the experience inconsistent at times. I finally tried LFG Local and I get the hype now. I ordered a burger combo and from the first bite you could tell this isn't typical fast food. The beef had real flavor ... rich but clean ...and didn't need a bunch of toppings to carry it. The fries were crispy and tasted fresh (not that stale oil taste you get at chain spots). It feels like they actually care about what they're serving. The portions were solid, the place was clean, and the staff was friendly without being over the top. If you're expecting dollar-menu vibes, this isn't it. If you want a really good burger made with quality ingredients, it's absolutely worth checking out. read more

I asked for their biggest selling sandwich and Kiki the cashier lady said it would be the Rueben-burger.(I was looking for a sandwich they were good at making). Well the burger I bought my dog was wolfed down after I diced it up but when I bit into my $14.00 Rueben Burger the slice of Corned Beef on the top was so overdone (burnt) and so tough I couldn't finish it. We love this place. Food was delicious-- and knowing that it is local and made well makes it all the better (local beef cooked in tallow, and even Michigan sodas).
