Really good food really nice people. The waitress was top-notch. The servers seemed to be in too much of a hurry, but for the most part, a really good experience. I had the double bypass burger. The one thing I would change about it or recommend is that they add some sort of sauce to it. Ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, pickles, any kind of juice that they possibly can. It's a really good idea but everywhere else in the country where they have that exact same burger has some sort of sauce so it's not so dry. Supposedly the oldest inn in Michigan (1831), this is a good place to stop for beers and bar food. We got a few beers and some fries and fried pickle chips. Prices are great, service is fast and friendly and the fr pod was hot and fresh. Lots of locals watching the Tigers. Good spot. read more

Stopped in for some beer and apps on our way through the area. Ive been wanting to go here since I heard it was the oldest bar in Michigan four years ago. It did not disappoint. We grabbed their pickle chips and beer. The breading was perfect. The beer was cold. And the staff was so friendly and kind. We were there on a Friday around lunch, so it was a quiet lunch crowd. OK so we drove one hour for just this food didn't realize on Sundays from 8 AM to 12 PM. They have breakfast. We did not know that tried their breakfast and it was so good that we are willing to come back even after driving an hour the atmosphere is just cool so cool for being the oldest bar in Michigan just the retro vibe. Well if aged character is what you seek this is your spot. The Smoked Corn Beef Reuben sure as hell is no match for the Star Deli or even Zingerman's. Close to dried chewy jerky with lots of kraut and a weak French dressing dipping sauce. The up charged Onion Rings (a total of 3 greasy slices) were mostly over breaded crispy globs of their version of onions. The servers were sparse and rushed, as is the case in most eateries now days. As far as ambiance I've provided a glimpse in my opener. Lots of locals swapping stories at the long narrow bar, coupled with uneven cobbled floors and tables. This place is huge for how it looks from the outside. The holiday decor was festive and fun to match the overall vibe. I liked what seemed to be endless bar seating. The large rectangle high tops are nice for bigger groups. The menu had plenty of great choices to suit any mood. The burger looked fantastic, the chicken quesadilla was good and the white trash nachos were off the charts! The service was attentive, polite and prompt. The food and service were very good. Our group of 5 had the Cobb Salad, the Michigan Salad, and three Reuben's. All very good. But I'm not expecting raucous drunks at 5pm. I love the Huddy! It's been around longer than the state of Michigan and is a gem for food and drinks. It looks like a biker bar but don't be afraid to go in and grab a seat. They offer a lot of great events, entertainment, and it's a lively scene. Food is great; burgers are huge, the "Sams Ham" is awesome, especially for breakfast when they add an egg to it, and you get a pretty good value for what you pay. It's the type of place I could sit all day and have a good time. I will say, they get a lot of flies on the patio in warmer months so that's annoying and yeah it's not the most modern, up to date spot but that adds a certain charm to the place. Fantastic burgers. I always order medium rare and I don't think they've ever hit the temperature correctly (they tend to come out medium to medium well) but it almost doesn't matter because the meat is seasoned beautifully. Their onion rings are handmade and you can tell. They are everything an onion ring should be. I love their fries too. Service is solidly good. I've never had to hunt down our server while at the same time they're never hovering. The history and nostalgia of the place is second to none. I love visiting old restaurants, hotels and bars, and this was was all three at one time or another. It's a bar, so don't expect anything fancy. Everyone is welcome. The music is loud, it's got a great group of regulars, and it's a favorite with bikers. you'll also find a group of gals coming from golf or a local couple/family. Had a really enjoyable lunch there today. Our server, Rochelle, took great care of us. I had the pork tacos. Delicious! Pork was tender and the edges were deliciously crunchy. Brunch done very well. The highlight for sure is the free cinnamon sugar donuts. Crisp and sweet on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. Incredible. The best burger near Novi. They cook it to perfection. On weekends there is live music as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

What is there not to like about this place. It is old and has great history. Still is very clean, very well run, and the food is good too! I've been here a couple times, this is my first review, I wanted to make sure that the food was good, because I know the beer is cold. The inside is quaint the next level outside is comfortable, and the patio looks like fun though I haven't been out there yet. If you want a good old fashioned get a beer bar, this is the place to go. Went to open mic night on a Monday. Liked the atmosphere a lot. Service was excellent!! Waitstaff was kind and friendly and on top of things. Great ambiance. The prices for a Monday and no happy hour on a Monday was a bit off putting. On average beers were $8 (basic beer). White claws $6.50. Sliders $2 each. Chips and salsa $4.
