I stopped by enroute back to Ann Arbor. I have been eyeing the place for some time, but finally made a detour. Cash Only - so make sure you have some greens with you. Walking in, there weren't too much items left. Not sure if they had more in the back, but 1/4 pork and 1 duck was left. It was also an hour before closing time, so I'm sure that was a big factor. I went with the pork belly - asked for a pound and got 1.25 pounds, total was $16 before taxes. Unlike Chinatown in New York City, no rice or veggies, just the meat. I know, you can't compare NYC to here, but yeah I brought it up and it was a lot cheaper in NYC. The important part is the flavor. The pork belly was bit salty, but it would have gone well with rice and steamed veggies. The meat was cold, most likely from hanging around all day long. A small 2 oz dipping sauce is provided with the order. For now three stars, will need to try their duck next time I swing by.

This place has the best Chinese roasted pork I've had! The meat is tender and flavorful and the skin is deliciously crispy. They are consistently good with this. Their duck is also top notch: it has a deep five-spice flavor throughout, and is usually lean yet juicy. The other meats there are pretty good. Can't say they're on the same level as the roasted pork and the duck, but solid nonetheless. I do wish they accepted credit, but it's not a big deal.

Authentic and delicious Chinese barbeque! I do want to note that it's a small establishment, so there's really no space to sit and eat. Also, like several other small businesses in the area, they only accept cash, so remember to come prepared. I always make the effort to stop by here after getting my hair cut at a nearby salon, as the roast duck and pig are my favorites. Both the pork and duck have crispy, fatty skin (the best part!) that is balanced out by the tender, leaner meat. Also, they are both accompanied by sauces that are packed with flavor and compliment the meats well. Pro tip: ask for extra sauce; it's definitely worth the $0.25.

We recently relocated to Michigan and it's been tough not having Chinese food on every street. It's even tougher to find a Chinese barbecue spot like the Sam Woos back home in CA. I've been craving some bbq duck and pork. We finally decided to drive out this way for some good ole Asian grocery shopping and stopping by for some bbq. I was super excited to see roast pork! I love the crunchy skin. I wasn't sure by looking at the pork hanging in the display case if it was fresh or not. As soon as I got in the car I opened the box and popped a pork skin in my mouth. I was in heaven! The skin was crunchy and juicy. Just talking about it makes my mouth water! I seriously did the happy dance the whole time I ate all the pork skins! I had to try the pork just to see if it would match up to the skin, my gosh it was juicy, tender and full of flavor. I was however disappointed in the duck! It was a bit dry and chewy. I'm thinking of using the duck to make some jook. Overall I'd be back to get some more pork and possibly try some other bbq. Parking in private lot,it gets packed but always find a parking spot.

This is my go to Chinese bbq place. I usually get the roasted pork and duck. Sometimes I get the chinese bbq pork too. Highly recommended.

There's ample parking in the area (both parking lot and street parking). I got the pulled pork, which came with 2 sides. I thought the 1 meat combo is plenty to fill you for lunch or dinner. My favorite side was the Mac and cheese. Plenty of bbq sauces to choose from too. There's small add ons/ up charges in which meat and sides you choose so keep an eye out for that! Thought the price was reasonable still though.

There is likely better barbecue in the area. Each meat varied heavily in quality, so they will be rated individually below. I ordered the Pitmaster's Platter, which included multiple samples of the meats. Meats Beef Brisket (2/5): For some reason, this brisket was extremely dry. There was no moisture between the meat fibers. When doing the brisket bend test over a finger, the brisket barely even moved. The bark had the texture of jerky. I would not recommend this meat option. Pulled Pork (3/5): The pulled pork was moist in some places and dry in others. This meat was extremely average. There were some parts of the pulled pork with a heavy smoke flavor, which I did appreciate. Pulled Chicken (2/5): This was just as dry as the brisket. There were small portions that did have some moisture, but I could not finish the dry portions. Cheddar Jalapeno Sausage (4/5): This meat was the best among the options. Incredibly juicy, heavy on the seasoning, and the cheese was oozing out of the sausage. If I were to come back, I would order this again. Ribs (2/5): Again, just as dry as the other meats. There was no pull, and the meat was tough on the outside. Sides Mac & Cheese (3/5): This macaroni and cheese was nothing special, despite other reviews raving about it. It is a standard mac and cheese with slightly soggy breadcrumbs on top. Coleslaw (5/5): Somehow, this was the best part of the meal. The coleslaw tasted extremely fresh. There was just enough sauce to coat the vegetables without taking away from their quality and crunch. The coleslaw being the best part of the meal says a lot about this establishment. I do not think I will be coming back here again.

At each table gloves, chopsticks, hand sanitizer, plastic straws, and plastic utensils were provided. Which is such a thoughtful touch. The fried chicken was SUPER juicy and tender with a cornflake fried batter covered in chosen sauces. There were so many flavor options to choose from, which made it fun to decide. The pieces were huge, so the price felt completely worth it. The servers were especially kind and patient with us as first-timers. They took the time to explain the most popular flavors and gave great recommendations, which we really appreciated. The only downside were the sides. The onion rings and fries didn't seem to have any seasoning. So, they tasted a bit plain compared to the bold, flavorful chicken. I'd definitely come back for the chicken alone. If you're craving crispy, juicy fried chicken with tons of flavor options, this is a spot worth trying!

The staff of both establishments are friendly and polite. I recommend going on a Wednesday, which is when BBQ tacos are a special. I've tried 3 of those, most of the meats, and all the sides. The tacos I've had are beef brisket, pig belly burnt ends, and pulled pork. Of those, the burnt ends taco was the best, but all 3 were great. If you came here just for the tacos, I wouldn't blame you at all. As for the meats, I truthfully don't have a favorite, because they were all that good. The ribs were juicy and tender. The brisket looked and tasted just right. I didn't even need a knife to cut it. The meatloaf was unlike any I've ever had. It was incredibly tender and had a great, smoky flavor. Although pastrami is beef, it tasted like a very well seasoned ham. Most places I've gotten burnt ends from dry them out, but that is not the case here whatsoever. The pulled pork was standard compared to the rest of the meats, but still better than average. None of the sides disappoint. The beans appear runny, but were delicious. The mac had a generous amount of cheese, and wasn't dry either. I've only had collard greens a couple times, but I found it enjoyable. The potatoes were delightful, but what took them to the next level was the toum it was served with. Toum is a Lebanese garlic sauce. The slaw was creamy and flavorful. Blueberry cornbread is something I've never seen on a BBQ menu before. Both that and the pickles tasted as they were advertised. Smoked Lotus blew me away, and I'll even go as far as saying it's my new favorite, local spot for BBQ. Even the pricing is fair, especially for the quality you're getting. If you love BBQ and haven't been here yet, you're missing out.

Before I even got to the food, the restaurant itself made a great first impression. The property is incredibly well maintained inside and out. There's a spacious outdoor patio for Michigan summer days, along with plenty of indoor seating ranging from communal tables for larger groups to individual booths if you're flying solo. It's a thoughtfully designed space that feels welcoming no matter why you're there. Now, let's talk about the food. I'll admit something that surprised me. I've been to Detroit probably 50 times, and I honestly can't remember ever hearing about a Detroit-style cheesesteak. Judging by the walls covered in awards and accolades, though, it's clearly something they're known for. The sandwich certainly sounds like a winner on paper: ribeye and sirloin, provolone and Swiss cheeses, roasted mushrooms and peppers, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, sweet pickled jalapeños, aioli, house-made vinaigrette, all served on a freshly baked sesame roll. I mean... what's not to love? Unfortunately, this is where my experience took a turn. The ingredients themselves are good. The flavors are there. The problem is the execution. The ratios are simply off. The freshly baked roll completely dominates the sandwich, overwhelming everything inside it. The steak gets lost between all that bread, and instead of each bite showcasing the beef, cheese, and vegetables working together, the bread becomes the star--and that's not what you want from a cheesesteak. I do want to give credit where it's due. The portions are generous, and I especially appreciated that they take the time to make their own dipping sauces for the fries. Little details like that don't go unnoticed. There are plenty of positives here, and it's easy to see why Detroit 75 Kitchen has earned such a loyal following. But as someone who takes sandwiches seriously, I think this one is technically flawed. A great sandwich is all about balance, and for me, this one never found it. I genuinely wanted to love it. This sandwich lover just couldn't get behind the way it was built.
