Amazing service and food this afternoon at Libby's! We went for pre Valentines day lunch and we were pleasantly surprised as they offered a special Valentines menu with wonderful special options. We had the Thai Salmon and the Macadamia Crusted Chicken. Both were out of this world. Fresh flavorful and beautifully presented. The service it wasn't bad, but it left out that warmth welcoming atmosphere you might think you would get at a "neighborhood" restaurant. Our server, Robert B., was amazing! Perfectly in tune to our needs the whole dinner. The chicken Milanese was delicious I would not change a thing about it. My boyfriend devoured the chicken carbonara. This place has nice ambience. Just be careful not to sit facing the parking lot because you could be hit with an F250 pickup truck headlights shining in your eyes the whole time. (This was not Libby's fault!) A while back we tried this place for lunch and enjoyed it. We talked about how we should return, but life got in the way. There for sure was a different feel at dinner then lunch which I appreciated. A fun and bright venue turned into some place with a more intimate feel. My caprese salad and pasta were both wonderful. My drink of choice that night was a Dragonberry Mojito. It made me happy. Overall, the night was great. We enjoyed ourselves and are looking forward a return visit. Just a couple cons. A thing holding us back is the time. Dinner was over two hours. Not a deal breaker, but there was quite a lot of lag time between drinks to food and in between courses Then there is the issue of the windows. This location has large garage door windows. The Salad... was a salad, our friend didn't add a protein... so okay !! The Croque Madame was the hit of the table. Everything about that dish was fabulous. Overall, it was okay.... Seems like the quality of food is going down over the past year or so. Libby's has been our go to restaurant ever since they opened in Lakewood Ranch. The service is good and ambiance is what you'd expect from a sports bar. When they opened they had the best fish and chips in town. Someone said it was sea bass. A year later it was made with cod. Last week it was fish chunks with heavy breading. My wife's favorite Santa Fe Salad has also seen modification but not in a good way.
