    Laila I.

This has got to be one of the best auto repair shops tha I have gone to. I thought I needed a new radiator but after a thorough check by Fred he informed me that it was just the radiator hose. He repaired it within a couple of hours, the charge was very reasonable and I was good to go. Its hard to find honest mechanics these days. Thank you Fred. I will definately be back.

Haha check out the cute solar mariachi band bobble heads!

By far the best mechanic shop in town! I've followed Fred and Liberty automotive through all his locations in Phoenix. When you find an honest mechanic, you stick with them! Fred and his team make sure my car is running in tip top condition and don't try to up sell me for other services! Even when they are busy they always make sure to keep me posted on how long it will be and if I'm not able to wait, I can either leave the car there or schedule time with him another day. I've never been disappointed in the service I've received! I would recommend Fred and Liberty automotive to everyone like I already have. :)

I first used Revive Auto Care to replace a control arm on my Infiniti QX60. I found them on Yelp, appreciated their positive reviews, and liked that they communicated over text. That repair went well, so when my AC started blowing hot air, I decided to return. They initially charged me $100 for diagnostics and a refrigerant top-off, then told me I needed a new compressor and quoted approximately $1,200. I dropped the vehicle off on Tuesday. By Wednesday and Thursday, they still had not identified the issue, but they continued replacing parts including the compressor, condenser with receiver drier, premium line kit, secondary rear AC expansion valve, blend door actuator, cabin filter, and recharged the AC system. By Friday, the vehicle was still not repaired, and they ultimately determined that the battery was bad and not providing enough amperage to properly run the AC system. They replaced the battery and told me the issue was fixed, which naturally made me question whether all of the previously replaced parts were actually necessary. The total had also increased to approximately $2,500, and at no point during the process was I contacted for approval on the additional repairs and charges. When I picked up the vehicle Friday evening, the AC was still blowing hot air. In addition, the vehicle was revving abnormally both while driving and while sitting in neutral. It is now Tuesday, and my messages have gone unanswered. On Saturday, I brought the vehicle to Infiniti for another opinion. I was told that the AC system had been overcharged by 1.73 lbs of refrigerant, which they said was causing the issues I experienced after picking the car up. I understand that diagnosing AC problems can be difficult and unexpected issues can happen, but the lack of communication, failure to request approval for major additional repairs, and returning the vehicle in worse condition than when it was dropped off made this a very disappointing experience.

Of course, they did not admit any wrongdoing and refunded me on the premise of "customer satisfaction" (which for legal reasons, I understand). All nice people but their poor vehicle inspection cost me thousands in repairs that were completely missed (so I overpaid for the car I bought). Their arguments were the seller may have cleaned-up the vehicle before the inspection to hide issues and that over 1,000 miles were driven between their inspection and the subsequent car inspection/repairs that occurred 2 months later. The allegation of seller clean-up is possible but not a proven fact in this case; it certainly wasn't pointed out during the inspection. The mileage argument is fair but collectively, neither of these assertions, even IF all true, is not a complete answer. Issues with the vehicle that take years to build up should have been pointed out during the inspection and were completely overlooked; including a bad steering gear box, cracked bushings, cracked right and left lower control arms, loose sway bar worn beyond repair, blown out front shocks, severely unevenly worn tires, which all cost over $5K to replace. I feel those were pretty obvious issues that a qualified auto technician would have easily caught and noted on the inspection report. Based on my experience, my suggestion for people interested in getting a vehicle inspection is you may be better off paying twice the price somewhere else and avoid Half Price Auto. Check the BBB.

He was on time, professional, and clearly knew what he was doing. He explained everything in a way that made sense, didn't try to upsell anything unnecessary, and made sure the job was done right. My A/C is now blowing cold again like it should, and the car is running perfectly. You can tell he takes pride in his work and cares about doing a quality job. On top of that, the convenience of him coming to me saved a lot of time and hassle. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone looking for reliable and honest mobile mechanic work.

However, I am very disappointed with the level of expertise and outcome of the visit. My 2014 Jeep compass has had the check engine light on for a week, steering locked up last week, and has had delayed clicking start. Justin arrived, I gave him the full history of my vehicle (no problems for 10 years) and the issues occurring the last month or so which prompted the call. He started running tests, even drove the car around to see if he could replicate what I had been experiencing. About 30 minutes into the visit he said he couldn't replicate any of the issues; that's okay, as I mentioned it only happened about 50% of the time. But he sat in my car another 20-30 minutes or so, told me he had to call his boss because he was completely stumped. Not really what you want to hear, but even I started making suggestions of what it could be so he could at least do something for me. At the end of the visit he basically just said "sorry I have no idea what's wrong, maybe replace your battery?"... the only thing he found was a sensor on my engine needed replacement, but it's totally unrelated to the other issues. I ended up having to pay $150 for literally no better idea what's wrong with my car and not feeling any safer to drive it. It was a huge waste of my time and now I'm out $150, and I still had to take it to another shop that already figured out the problem not even 24 hours later. Save yourself some money and go to a real auto shop. I understand that some technicians may be learning or lack the knowledge to dive deeper, but someone should be going with them to assist so your customers aren't left feeling robbed and confused.
