Extremely disappointed with my previous experience! Made an online order of six sandwiches and a dozen bagels on 06June2026. I didnt think to check the bag upon pick up and I didnt notice 3 bagels and 1 sandwich were missing. I reached out to Liberty Bagels via their online messaging platform, left my contact information and no one reached out to me. What a joke! Word of advice, be sure to always check your order and verify you received everything in store before leaving. Honestly, I'm torn with this review. We tried Liberty on a weekday morning, decently long line, good service, but the bagel left much to be desired. I ordered the Bella Nova on a rainbow bagel. While the lox and herby cream cheese were great, the bagel was very very hard and chewy. Took forever to ingest. Should I have tried a regular bagel? Toasted? We'll never know. I was visiting New York so I had to stop by a bagel spot, I decided to try Liberty Bagels and I really enjoyed the bagels I had! The bagels were made fresh so they were soft and fluffy. I tried an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and it was loaded! The cream cheese was so well flavored, airy and light, it had to be one of the best cream cheese I had. I don't know if the crew is different but the whole atmosphere has completely changed. The bagels have become stale the past couple of times I've come & the people behind the counter are so rude. The last time I came it was 30 min before closing and they stated "they ran out of bagels" but I saw that there were bagels... I guess they were just too lazy to make a BEC. Don't even try to ask for egg whites because depending on who's working, they give you different responses.. I've been told " We don't do that" like how?? If I just got it the week prior? I come here every Sunday for my breakfast and look forward to it. The past two weeks, I've been so disappointed at the service and lack of respect. Yesterday, I was ordering my regular bagel and asked for egg whites, as I usually do. The response I got was "We don't do egg whites." Meanwhile I've been charged for egg whites every time I've ordered them so when did that suddenly change? The bagels are hit and miss, sometimes they are fresh and the cream cheese will taste great and other times, it will be stale. I tried to be nice and explain that I was confused and the guy I spoke to rolled his eyes and told me "If you don't want to come anymore, don't come". I'm appalled. Imho, not necessarily one of the best bagels like many people believe, but also a solid option if you having a craving. Their regular bagels have a nice chew, while I also really enjoy the flagels. The jalapeño bagel is a new discovery and I am quite fond of its fluffy texture and slightly spicy aftertaste. A very good bagel shop in Queens that has much more then just bagels and it's hard to decide so we got a little of everything or close to everything. Many different types of bagels , spreads , sandwiches ,sweets , hot and cold beverages and if you want a burger , gyro or omelette, you can get that also . It's a bagel joint so a few bagels with cream cheese , a few order of hash browns, a brownie , black n white cookie ,2 coffees and 3 orange juices and my boys and I can sit and enjoy .good bagels , good food , good beverages and prices are reasonable. Great bagels! They are big and fluffy and delicious. They also just had such a wide variety of goodies. I had some rainbow cookies too that were fantastic. It's been a bit but it was great. They also had a big selection of cream cheese. I had plain but it was great. They even had a vegan cream cheese, but it was okay... maybe what you would expect from a vegan cheese. This place has been disappointing lately. I have ordered from this place twice for lunch and the sandwiches are mediocre. I ordered a chicken sandwich with pesto on a sesame bagel and the texture of the chicken was not pleasant. I don't think it was completely cooked so I didn't even eat half the sandwich and the rest was garbage. I would only suggest coming here only for breakfast since their breakfast items are actually very good. My go to order is their sesame bagel toasted dark with scallion cream cheese. The bagels and pastries were very fresh. The bagels also did not taste like pure dough, which is always good. The almond croissant was also tasty. The location has a good amount of tables. They have good variety of things, a lot of choices for cream cheese, and a lot of things to choose from in the displays. The only negative I would say is the workers at the register did not seem eager to ask you if they can take your order. One guy seemed disturbed that I asked him to take my order. They have everyone behind the counter working in perfect coordination to execute orders efficiently. You love to walk into a place like this because you know what to expect and know it's going to be consistent. Aside from this, you should know that Liberty Bagels is often quite busy. Understandable considering the quality of their product and their location. Their systems help alleviate things during those often busy times. If you're not a fan of crowds or hectic places, you'll want to avoid though. Prices are comperable to Manhattan, but it's worth the price in my opinion. Whether you're just in the mood for a bagel with cream cheese or you're ordering dozens of bagels for an event, Liberty is the place to go. I'm grateful they're in our neighborhood. read more

Been trying to find a go-to bagel shop in NYC with the best bagels. Liberty Bagels is pretty up there in terms of soft-ness and cream cheese options. We got the lox cream cheese on everything bagel (5/5), bacon egg and cheese on an egg everything bagel (4/5) and the works on an egg everything bagel (5/5) The bagels came out soo fresh and the specialty hot bagel sandwiches were super flavorful. Having eaten breakfast at ess a bagel quite a bit, I will say the bagels aren't as fresh as I expected, and were a little hard. If you get the bagels toasted, this isn't an issue. I have been searching for the perfect bagel spot since I moved to Queens in 2019 after almost 15 years in Brooklyn. I had heard that Liberty Bagels opened a location close by but only recently had a chance to check it out. It's definitely in a very busy area, steps away from the 82nd street stop on the 7. I have no doubt that it gets very busy during the morning rush, but I stopped by around 11:30 on a week day and there was only one person ahead of me. There are a LOT of menu options as well as bagel and cream cheese flavors, and I felt pretty boring for going with an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, but it's my favorite, so it's hard for me to deviate. It was definitely not boring and very delicious. The bagel was the perfect texture and had a generous amount of everything seasoning on all sides. They were also generous with the scallion cream cheese, which was evenly distributed and very flavorful. The place is well maintained and clean and there are several tables around for dining in. Pretty disappointing experience here. I ordered a wrap with extra eggs, a few meats, lettuce, tomato, MUENSTER cheese and toasted; as well as a cordon bleu everything bagel with grilled chicken, eggs, spinach, and toasted. I received a wrap without any of the eggs, none of the extra meats were included in the wrap (weirdly placed on the side), had American cheese (barf!), a single slice of pastrami (which is a joke...), and the wrap was soggy. As for the bagel, the bagel was even soggier, had no spinach on it, and had a fried chicken cutlet not grilled as I clearly requested (it's an option to choose grilled, it wasn't a special request, so a bit shocked it wasn't honored...). Overall this was a pretty terrible experience as neither sandwich was made properly and the lack of attention to detail is pretty staggering. Likely wouldn't recommend this place at all unless they learn to follow directions better. Update: Revised to 3 stars as the meats were pretty good, just wish they had made the sandwich/wraps correctly... read more

This is a bagel place with some tables and chairs if you want to eat there. We were comfortable sitting there but I'd say it's mainly take out. The menu(s) are a bit hard to read, so chose the Havana sandwich from their website, however it is not offered at this location. I ended up with the Midtown sandwich and it did not disappoint! Very large selection of bagels and cream cheese. Way more than other bagel specific shops. Some specific cream cheese like avocado cream cheese, you won't see it, just have to order it and they will make it for you in the back. Something I didn't know the first time I went. Bagels are very fresh and soft. No need to toast. Price point- this is definitely a little more expensive than your regular bagel joint. It cost us about 5-7 dollars for one bagel. Adding on coffee and a orange juice, it came out about 20 some dollars. Of note- their specialty bagels: jalapeño bagel is green and actually a little spicy because they mix in the diced jalapeño. So delicious. Rainbow bagel: vivid colors, no sugar added. Can go with sweet or savory cream cheese Liberty bagel: basically strawberry swirl with mini chocolate chip pieces and vanilla syrup. Definitely sweeter than rainbow bagel, but not overly sweet. Great with sweet cream cheese like strawberry or cake cream cheese Of note- their cake cream cheese- it's just cream cheese cake frosting with sprinkles. Very disappointing service especially since the store wasn't even busy when I was there. As far as the bagels go, they are meh. I say this as a native New Yorker who prefers authentic bagels. These do not have an authentic texture and they're too thick and fluffy/soft rather than chewy. Basically if you are a tourist and you think a rainbow bagel or a blueberry bagel sounds exciting, have fun and go for it. If you are looking for a real NY bagel, go elsewhere.
