Disrespectful staff. Ordered an everything bagel. Was served a poppy seed bagel. Short Latin guy gave me a hard time and insisted I asked for a poppy seed bagel. Not a big deal, everyone makes mistakes. However, this man to my face, insisted I asked for poppy seed. Calling me out as a liar. Was willing to ignore as I only drop in for a toasted buttered bagel. Bagelette is a tucked away old school bagel shop that is easily one of the best bagel stores in the neighborhood (unless you want to trek to Forest Hills). It is a no frills bagel shop which to be frank the best ones are. I got a poppy seed lox and scallion cream cheese with capers. Yes, I've had better bagels but for that price point it was spot on and you could tell that the lox was fresh. If I'm ever in the area I would stop by again. read more

I was unsure about trying this place because of the so-so reviews about service, but the gentleman who served us during both visits was incredibly kind and friendly. Love the bagels but the spread really kicks butt! Ordered a pumpernickel bagel with jalapeño cream cheese plus a slice of tomato and oooof that cream cheese had such a nice kick of spice! Creamy, not salty, full of jalapeños and smooth between two toasty bagel slices. So curious about the other spreads, came back for a pumpernickel bagel with the white fish spread. Like are you serious??? It's so smooth, light and not salty at all! Tasted amazing and I'm curious about all the other spreads and maybe just go back tomorrow to try out more!! Friendly workers! One of my favorite bagel places in the city. It is pricey, but everything they serve for their bagels is delicious. The salmon is rich and fresh. The cream cheese is good quality. The bagels are substantial. My only complaint is how it's gotten pretty pricy. Ordered a bagel at Bagelette on a Monday morning. Bagelette unfortunately had it all, poor service, a terrible bagel, and a shop that is a complete mess. Quality: A poor bagel all around. None of the elements I look for in a quality bagel. It was extremely salty and lacking in freshness. Proportions were all off. A very flat bottom for some reason. I also was treated to a piece of plastic wrapping in the cream cheese, showing lack of care in preparation. Quantity: Smaller than usual bagel with limited cream cheese. Value: $3.00 for an Everything Bagel with Scallion Cream Cheese. Ambiance: Bagelette is a small bagel shop in the Rego Park area of Queens. Nothing about the store space is appealing. The first thing you notice is a lack of airflow as the heat from the kitchen is overwhelming. The tables all seemed messy and there was no organization to the store. When you order at the counter you are basically ordering over stacks of assorted goods. Crowd: Just a few people at the shop, most angry at the delay. Service: My bagel came out fast, but other customers were complaining about the delay in their orders. I wish they took more time with my order though, because I ended up with plastic in my cream cheese. Parking: Parking can be found in the residential area, just watch the signs. read more

Great little kosher bagel and appetizing joint right in the heart of Rego. You'd never know it by looking at it but this place is capable of handling catering for very large events. events. Their bagels are what you would expect to get from a Jewish deli in New York. Big and tasty with a crunchy outside and a soft chewy inside. Great NYC bagel joint. Bagels are made fresh everyday and are made to eat that day. None of the wonderbread effect. They are crispy and soft at the same time and taste amazing, My only regret is that their coffee is not he best. I'm not a big fan of the flavor and it's a little weak. The service team is great. These guys do get slammed on Saturday/Sunday mornings so depending on timing you may have to wait to get your order in. read more

Baguelette has, by far, the best bagels in the Rego Park area. I won't say Forest Hills/Kew Gardens as well, simply because there are far too many little bagel shops for me to try them all out, but certainly, it's the best in the area. Far better than Hot Bialys or Gotta Get a Bagel. Their bagels are nice and crusty on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside - just perfect. Their everything bagels are delicious and they have an excellent assortment of cheese spreads. Their scallion cream cheese is second to none and they make a heavenly cinnamon/raisin/walnut cream cheese spread that'll make you wanna slap your momma! Their cookies and assorted pastry fare are buttery, flaky and rich, but it's the bagels and bialys that are the hot ticket. They open at 5:30 AM if you're the early bird type, but definitely do go before 7 AM, as the bagels are fresher and there's little to no line. You might even get a little table. :-) read more

Sure their bagels are good if you don't mind drawing an engineering diagram to place your order, while girded for armageddon to fend off the creep in white shoes that hangs out by the window on Saturday morning and hits on girls passing by. (Note, gentlement: you should find a line better than "bebeee is dat an iphone" if you're trying to pick up girls-in a bagel store- on a Saturday morning) After you've paid for your bagel with vegetable tofu-spread (yes its a delicious alternative on the lactose free scene), make sure that its actually what you ordered, and not something totally from left field like, oh, say tuna. (One time I didn't check and I got to work and let's just say it was disgusting.) Also make sure that the coffee is sealed tightly. Other times, my order was correct, but it was baptised in coffee before I had a chance to eat it. Bagelette, under the days of old owners Sam & Isaac was AWESOME. Its now changed hands twice since 2006. They still serve a beautiful selection of spreads, salads & appetizing. Their pastries are decent, but not made on premises. The bagels, while a varied selection, are far from the doughy treats they once were. When Organic Market is closed, Bagelette is a mere consolation prize for breakfast on the run. read more

I'm usually a seamless girl and rarely wander the neighborhood for grub unless I happen to pass it on the way home from the train. Was coming home today from shopping and was in the mood for a bagel. Walked in, placed my order. Egg salad on a bagel with lettuce and tomato. Egg salad wasn't my first choice, but it'll do. Bagel size... Ummm, isn't this NY? Why was it the size of a frozen bagged bagel? Why does it taste like it's from 2 days ago? I'm not expecting straight from the oven freshness, but can it not be stale? Please? Lettuce and tomato. He runs into the back to get some. I hear the water run for 3 seconds. I hope that's not him washing the lettuce and tomato. For only 3 seconds. It'll do, if you must absolutely have a bagel... I used to stop by years ago when Bagel Boss owners where in charge of this store,and back then the salads,bagels and spreads where always yummy and fesh! Also,the overall service quality and store appearance was neat and pleasant to the eye....nowadays it looks like ghost town in there! Its dirty,salads are almost always spoiled(got their tuna and white fish spread several times within couple of months range and its literally sour/spoiled !!!! ) Its not only terrible since the prices there are high(around $8 + for fish salads/spreads on a bagel) but quite dangerous for consumer's health!!! The owner is an old Jewish man that always looks quite somber and grumpy,he doesnt seem to care about his customers,the quality of food or even the appearance of this establishment that is literally falling apart! Now these are bagels. Made in house, hand rolled, and fresh oven baked (3 times a day I'm told). It doesn't get much better than these. I particularly enjoy their house cream cheese and flat whole wheat sesame or everything bagels. Gotta get lucky sometimes to get them as they sell out quickly. Their bialys are top notch. They aren't always out so FYI, gotta ask for them. I'd recommend the homemade muffins too. Very nice owner and staff. I go out of my way to come here but it is worth the trip. read more

These are less of a bagel and more like circular bread with a hole in the middle. Bagels should be a crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Bagels should also be salted regardless of the bagel type. The best ones are also slightly sweet/malty. These were bland and flavorless. read more

Bagels are one of the foods New York is famous for and the ones from here are worth to be dubbed best in Queens. The size of the bagels range from day to day but they are consistently good. My favorites are the everything bagel and the cinnamon raisin. Try to avoid peak times 7:30-9am and weekends 8-10:30am. read more
